Michael Webster

Metro Police Hermitage Precinct detectives and SWAT officers arrested murder suspect Michael L. Webster late Sunday in connection with last week’s shooting death of Nickalus Jones.

Police received a tip that Webster was inside an apartment at 126 Charles E. Davis Boulevard.

Webster, 25, was found inside the apartment with several other people. The gun police believe was used to kill Jones was recovered from a bedroom closet.

Jones, 28, was shot to death Thursday night during a heated argument with Webster on University Court in the Tony Sudekum public housing development, police said.

Police said Webster was interviewed by Detectives Kurt Knapp and Johnny Crumby and confessed that he was the gunman in Jones’ murder.

Webster is being held in lieu of $1 million bail pending a hearing.
