Traditionalists rule at TNN,CMT awards show

Traditional country may not be the dominant trend among those who control the industry airwaves, but it certainly ruled Wednesday night in the results of fan balloting for the TNN Country Weekly Awards. Alan Jackson won so many times it seemed his name was the only one mentioned for the first quarter of the three-hour program, which aired live from the Gaylord Entertainment Center and was carried on The National Network (formerly The Nashville Network) and Country Music Television (CMT). Jackson was the first performer to appear on the program, and he quickly wore out a path to the podium from his seat as he won several major awards. These included Male Artist of the Year, Album for When Somebody Loves You, CMT Music Video for www.Memory, and three citations for the controversial tune
