The man police say threatened to “blow up” his plane and the Nashville International Airport after being bumped from a flight pleaded guilty to a lesser charge Wednesday morning in general sessions court.

Kevin Craig Quihuis, 26, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct. As part of his plea he was given a 30-day jail sentence but will be released by Jan. 1, 2010.

Quihuis was arrested Saturday after he was bumped from a Continental Airlines flight due to overbooking.

In the heated exchange that followed the man told airline representatives: “If I don't get a seat, I'm goin to blow up the airplane,” according to the police affidavit.

Quihuis was charged with felony false report.

Calls to Quihuis' public defender Laura Getz for comment were not immediately returned Wednesday afternoon.
