Update: Franklin gunman surrenders to police

Update: Wray turned himself in late Friday afternoon at Franklin police headquarters.

Franklin police are searching for a 21-year-old man suspected in a shooting Friday that left a 19-year-old hospitalized.

The shooting occurred around noon in the area of 911 Glass St. Police found the victim lying outside a vacant home. He had been shot once in the leg. Police did not release the man's name.

Police say Jamelle Wray, 21, is the alleged gunman. He remains at large, and police said he should be considered armed and dangerous. He is wanted on attempted criminal homicide charges.

Wray is described as black man about 5-foot-10 with long dreadlocks. He weighs about 230 pounds and may be driving a green 1999 Toyota Avalon with Tennessee tag 276 MKC.

Anyone with information on Wray’s whereabouts should call 911, police said.
