Urban village project proposed in Sylvan Park

A Hillsboro Village-like development is proposed for Sylvan Park that would include a mix of retail, office and residential units.

Property owner Norma Crow wants to build a three-story building including retail, office and residential space at the corner of Murphy Road and 46th Avenue behind Portland Brew coffeehouse.

Her architect, David Powell with Polifilo, will introduce the proposal at the neighborhood association meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Renaissance Center in the Cohn Adult Learning Center.

Powell said that even though the building would have three stories, only two stories will be above street level because of the hillside slope of the property.

He said the lower level would be for commercial retail use, the second for office use and the third for residential use.

Crow said she plans on putting three boutiques on the bottom floor.
