USN ace golfer Nielson to sign with Virginia

Standout University School of Nashville golfer Calle Nielson, who is a three-time champion of the DII Middle Region golf tournament, has announced she will sign with Virginia.

Starting as an eighth grader, Nielson has finished in the top 10 in the state tournament for four straight years for USN and was runner-up last year. Nielson will be favored to win her fourth DII region title Monday when that event will be held at Harpeth Hills course.

She competed in the Franklin American Mortgage pro golf tournament in May. Nielson also considered Alabama, Auburn, Vanderbilt and Furman before deciding for Virginia.
