Advanced art students from Vanderbilt University will have the chance to collaborate with nationally renowned guest artists and artists from the Nashville community this semester through a new intensive artists-in-residence course.
Feminist artist Judy Chicago and photographer Donald Woodman, a husband and wife team, will lead the multi-media program with Vanderbilt art history professor Vivien Green Fryd.
Participants, who had to submit a resume, letter of intent and portfolio to apply, also had to commit to two hours daily during the first month of the project alone.
JoEl Logiudice, a Vanderbilt administrator accepted to the program, said it is a unique opportunity for 12 artists and 12 students to interact daily with Chicago and Woodman.
