Head-scratching and looks of bewilderment were plentiful Saturday night at Memorial Gym as Vanderbilt blew away hapless Georgia.
Was this the same Bulldogs squad that beat the Commodores last month in Athens, Ga.? How could a team so devoid of skill and depth possibly have beaten a team with NCAA Tournament aspirations?
The answers might never come, but Vandy at least exorcised a demon by defeating Georgia 65-37 in the rematch before 12,689 fans.
The inspired Commodores forced 20 turnovers and limited the Bulldogs to only 29.3 percent shooting from the field. Vandy overcame a sluggish start offensively to shoot 66.7 percent in the second half and led by as much as 29 points.
