Metro police have issued a murder warrant against Demeko Duckworth, 30, whom they believe stabbed his girlfriend to death.

Family members found 30-year-old Asia Wade’s body inside her home at 1609 Elizabeth Road after learning four of her young children did not make it to daycare Tuesday. The children were also found inside the home, but they were unaware of what happened to their mother.

Police said evidence in the home links Duckworth to the murder. He is believed to have fled in Wade’s 2006 red Chevrolet Monte Carlo with a 707-TMN Tennessee license plate number.

Wade is also wanted for questioning in a Monday night shooting of Wade’s cousin, Clarence Goins, on Hillside Avenue during which he was fatally wounded.

Police urge anyone with information on Duckworth’s whereabouts to call 862-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
