Water main repairs to close parts of Broadway, Second Avenue

The center lane of Broadway between Second and Third avenues will be closed Thursday morning for the replacement of a 24-inch water main, but two inbound lanes of traffic and one outbound lane will remain open.

Though it’s only a partial closure, no parking will be permitted on the one-block stretch of Broadway.

As Metro replaces another water main, stretches on Second Avenue between Demonbreun Street and Broadway, and between Church and Commerce streets, will also remain closed.

Second Avenue is expected to re-open Friday through Saturday night, but the partial closure of Broadway will remain in effect.
