A Williamson County jury on Thursday found Dr. Jerry M. Foster not guilty of groping a nurse and making sexually suggestive actions toward her in front of a patient.

The jury deliberated for about an hour before finding Foster not guilty on all charges early Thursday evening, according to Foster’s attorney Hal Hardin. Williamson County Circuit Court Judge Tim Easter presided over the case.

The nurse claimed in July 2009 Foster groped her, grabbed her by the waist and made a series of pelvic thrusts while standing behind her, according to police at the time of the incident. A Williamson County grand jury indicted Foster that August.

Foster practiced as an oncologist at Williamson County Medical Center at the time, but an internal investigation at the medical center following the allegations resulted in Foster no longer being allowed to practice there.

Foster is still, however, licensed to practice medicine, Hardin said.

Not often but every now and then justice is done. Now the real problem is that the accuser who caused this expense and grief and humiliation will be left to strike again at some point.
