Williamson County Sheriff Ricky Headley was one of two individuals arrested by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Metro Police today in a prescription drug fraud sting operation, authorities said.

Headley, who was elected Sheriff in 2002, had received thousands of potent painkillers without a valid prescription from employees of the Brooks Pharmacy at 4701 Trousdale Drive in Nashville, Metro Police and the TBI said in a written statement released today.

The owner of the Pharmacy, Glenn Brooks, was also arrested.

Headley was arrested Wednesday afternoon after picking up a bottle of prescription painkillers from the pharmacy.

He was immediately taken into custody and transported to TBI headquarters.
