Even though most of the snow from Monday's unexpected dusting has melted, temperatures are expected to remain cold throughout Middle Tennessee, according to the National Weather Service.

Light flurries were expected to persist throughout Metro Nashville until 9 p.m., and temperatures were expected to drop into the 20s, with windchills in the teens and perhaps even single digits. Melting snow may freeze, making roadways hazardous.

Highs are expected to remain in the 30s through the end of the week, with the NWS predicting possible snow showers Friday and Sunday. Lows each night will cut into the teens.
