Woman shot in Kroger parking lot

Metro Police are looking for are looking for two men who allegedly shot a woman twice in the parking lot at a south Nashville Kroger grocery store.

The shooting occurred about midnight at the Kroger at 5771 Nolensville Road at the corner of Old Hickory Boulevard.

Martha Ramos, 24, worked at a pool hall near the scene and had walked to the Kroger parking lot to wait on a ride from her boyfriend.

While she waited, a large gray or silver sedan pulled up. Two men got out and fired on Ramos with a shotgun, police said.

She was hit in the chest and leg and is in critical but stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Officials hope surveillance video will help identify the suspects and/or the suspect vehicle.

Police said the motive for the shooting has not been determined.

Ramos’ belongings, including her purse and cell phone, were not taken, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

This doesn't sound random unless it is part of a gang initiation...which I doubt would be carried out in such a public forum.

Not sure there is any law attempting to disarm citizens in the grocery store so I assume you're just venting about the recent guns in parks, guns in restaurants, etc. issues. I'm on the fence on that issue; however, I can agree that everyone should be armed when they reach Nolensville Pike. It blows my mind the number of news stories that originate on that road. At least one major news story each morning starts with, "In South Nashville...just off Nolensville Road...".
