Block Party at Y-CAP

The inaugural Block Party at Y-CAP, the Community Action project of the YMCA, will be held Saturday, June 9 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Russell Street Y-CAP facility. The party is free and open to the community.

The event is designed to bring the East Nashville community together for fellowship, fun, food and music. Family activities, including a giant garage sale, will be on hand, including a moonwalk and Velcro wall, Sumo wrestling, the bungee-run, carnival games with prizes and concession stands.

Local businesses and community agencies and services are invited to reserve a table to display service information and hand out goods. Tables, which cost $25 each, will help defer costs of the event and are available by calling Mary Huggins at Y-CAP, 226-5577, ext. 103.
