Up for Debate: 'Black Friday'

Monday, November 26, 2012 at 12:31am

Whether it's the day that pulls retail businesses out of the red or the day their employees loathe as a scourge or both, why do we have Black Friday? For the good it does some bottom lines, does it do more harm in pushing us to spend — or shop — beyond what's good for us? Or is it just another part of Capitalism?

LOL Blanket. He and Rasputin both seem to be all out of source and extremely whiny since the election.

What second war of Independent is p3 ranting about that was fought 200 years ago. Is he another example of tea bag un-history?

For me Christmas is about the birth of Christ and His life on earth and then there is Easter which is the real reason he was born to start with.

Also about giving to those in need. The Salvation Army is a good place to start or at least it used to be. But now I know so many families personally that are struggling that I try to help some of them. Just have to be careful not to give all the mortgage money away!

Hope all had Blessed Thanksgiving.

Sorry to be so late, Loner, but I couldn't carry my 'puter in my pocket. So tell me, you seem to be a reasonably a intelligent man (and note, I said seem to be"), and you keep throwing slams at me for my attitude toward the usurper in office.

So Loner, please explain to my ignorant brain how a man with a Kenyan citizen as his father Constitutionally eligible for that office.

And don' give me that crap he was elected by the people. That's like saying anyone on this earth could legally be elected if the people voted for them.

I had a great Thanksgiving, budlight. I'm still breathing. My son and daughter-in-law came over and I got two bowls of beans instead of just one.
