Up for Debate: Cover of the 'Rolling Stone'

Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 10:05pm

How do you feel about the Boston Marathon bombings suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on the cover of the latest Rolling Stone issue? Does it automatically glorify him or should the journalism behind it matter?

MamaG, yogi has no President do to his enlistment with North Korea.

By: bfra on 7/18/13 at 9:38

Nemo according to people around Gordonsville where yogi is known as the village idiot, he has no friends or family (that has anything to do with him) because he is so stupid acting.

By: yogiman on 7/18/13 at 9:39

Sorry, MamaG,

But it is not a fact. The fact is he is not a natural born American citizen. If he is, why hasn't at least one of you on this site offered me proof? Could it be because none of you have it?

But let's presume he was a natural born American citizen; he lost that status when he was adopted into Indonesian citizenship and when you loose it, you cannot get it back. If he is an American citizen today, he can only be a naturalized citizen, not a natural born citizen.

And if he was in that office legally, common sense would tell you he would not have spent almost 2 million dollars (so far) keeping his identity secret.

If you want a dictator in that office, hang in there, he's working on it.

Thanks for educating me on Deep Purple, gdia! I had forgotten some of those songs and I love My Woman From Tokyo! Blanket, I think they are a UK band, so that would make sense. It appears that whoever is responsible there at the H of F, select their favorites and disregard many good bands. I always loved Chicago in the 70's. Those were my roller skating years and I remember the music fondly!!!

By: bfra on 7/18/13 at 9:41

Due to the 10:39AM comment, I rest my case. Only an idiot could or would post that garbage for 4 1/2 years.

By: MamaG on 7/18/13 at 9:43

Yogi, if you direct your comments to me, please refrain from speaking about the President of the United States as you do. You may not like him, but that's your choice. I happen to respect him and that's my choice. Please do not direct any further comment about him in my direction. Thank you.

By: yogiman on 7/18/13 at 9:44

bfra,

If so many people feel I'm so stupid, why do so many of them tell me they like the LTE I have printed in the Carthage Courier? A bunch of liars like your, perhaps?

If they thought I was stupid, why would any of them even make a comment to me? I'm sure you have an answer; you seem to think you know everything you think you know.

By: budlight on 7/18/13 at 9:45

G, did you leave out Spinning Wheel?

Yogi is a persistent soul; the world needs persistence. I'm glad he's here.

Did anyone ever hear any of Charles Manson's music recordings before he became "Charles Manson". Just curious.

By: gdiafante on 7/18/13 at 9:48

Spinning Wheel is Blood, Sweat & Tears, bud.

By: MamaG on 7/18/13 at 9:50

Yogi, let me ask you this, then I'll leave it be: How do you think he is still our president if all you say about him is true? Do you think everyone else in play are covering for him? Do you really believe a so-called lie (your term) could carry on for these many years without being discovered? Do you really think he is getting away with something? GET REAL OLD MAN! You are delusional about the whole thing. Kick your conspiracies to the curb and get out and enjoy some fresh air for a change!!!

By: MamaG on 7/18/13 at 9:53

Blood, Sweat & Tears is another one of my faves. Are they in there, G? What about the Guess Who? Loved them too...

By: MamaG on 7/18/13 at 9:54

Also, Steppenwolf--one of my all-time faves!!!

By: gdiafante on 7/18/13 at 9:58

No, they're not, mama.

By: MamaG on 7/18/13 at 10:01

Well, that's a bloody shame and I, too, am outraged!!! Now, I get your point, G. I'm going to have to check into this more...I want to know what their criteria are and who decides, etc.

PROVE IT!

By: courier37027 on 7/18/13 at 10:04

Rolling Stone Magazine? I thought they only reviewed and rated cartoon movies.

By: MamaG on 7/18/13 at 10:06

So, gdia, I just read the 'process' on wikipedia and agree with this:

The surviving members of the Sex Pistols, who were inducted in 2006, refused to attend the ceremony, calling the museum a "piss stain."

By: yogiman on 7/18/13 at 10:09

You're an expert at calling me a liar, bfra. You prove it. Just once, prove I'm a liar instead of just saying I am. Just buy the Carthage Courier and you can read every LTE I give them.

By: bfra on 7/18/13 at 10:16

Brainless blob has LIED again!

By: yogiman on 7/18/13 at 10:21

MamaG,

Can you explain why Barack Obama (if that's his name) refuses to offer any identification of himself?

When I questioned Senators Alexander and Corker asking why they questioned John McCain but didn't question Barack Obama, I never received an answer from Corker. I received the following from Alexander dated May 6, 2009:

"Dear Paul,

Thanks for getting in touch with me and letting me know what's on your mind regarding the allegations about President Barack Obama's citizenship. This issue has been investigated and it has been confirmed that the President is in fact a natural born citizen and, therefore, is eligible for the office of the President. I appreciate you contacting me with your concerns, and I hope that you will continue to get in touch with me and let me know what's on your mind regarding important issues facing our nation."

Sincerely,
Lamar

I responded to that letter asking where they received that information and why it wasn't passed on to the general public. Guess what; I'm still waiting for an answer.

But maybe you can tell me: How can an Indonesian citizen become a natural born American citizen?

By: govskeptic on 7/18/13 at 10:24

Daily this string becomes such a worthless waste of time with so many commenting
and trying to one up the other on comments from Yogi. Seldom do they provide
a worthwhile comment much less commentary of their own on the subject of the day.

By: MamaG on 7/18/13 at 10:27

He probably didn't respond, yogi, because he thinks you're one of those conspiracy nuts. Guess what, I think he may be right! If someone official gives you this information, why do you continue to question it? You have your answer. Let it go for your sake. You might even live longer if you quit stressing over it so much. Go smell a flower today. Take a pole and catch a fish somewhere. Give a smile to someone you don't know. Life is too short to be wasted on this nonsense any longer.

By: MamaG on 7/18/13 at 10:37

Well govskeptic, many of us have commented on the subject here today and that devolved into other things. No matter what the subject of the day is, yogi brings it back around to his tired conspiracy theories about his president and it goes from there. How much can one say about the subject today, anyway?

By: yogiman on 7/18/13 at 10:37

MamaG,

If you're so trustworthy of your politicians, I've got news for you; you're a damn fool. You must have been with that group in a restaurant. Check out

www.carent.com/atpolitical/obamacare_explained.html/ Maybe it will explain a little more on Obama's takeover.

By: yogiman on 7/18/13 at 10:45

MamaG,

Don't you think Alexander should have explained how they decided Obama became a natural born American citizen after his Indonesian citizenship even after he refused to show his birth certificate and refused to be questioned?

Isn't it odd they questioned John McCain even after he showed his birth certificate but didn't insist Obama prove his eligibility? That alone should cause your eyes to raise.

Wait, Blood Sweat & Tears hasn't made it in?

Wait, Blood Sweat & Tears hasn't made it in?

Nope....

By: budlight on 7/18/13 at 11:29

Yogi, Alexander votes against us all the time. Oh except for the fishing vote. That stinks to me.

In case you people have kids or grandkids who are always sick with ear, nose and throat, look at Dr. Julie Wei on Youtube. She's on to something. Makes sense.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/18/13 at 12:05

OK, where do I get a list of who is in the HOF?

By: gdiafante on 7/18/13 at 12:08

http://rockhall.com/inductees/alphabetical/

The first one is...ABBA...seriously.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/18/13 at 12:09

Well, if THAT is any indication.....

By: bfra on 7/18/13 at 12:21

Gov. - Nobody tries to one up yogi, they are not interested in one uping on LIES. However, I think it is normal for anyone to dispute lies that are told 24/7.

By: gdiafante on 7/18/13 at 12:25

You know Blanket, all this talk, I had to pull out my CD of Chicago Transit Authority...listen to South California Purples and tell me they don't belong in the HOF...pfft!

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/18/13 at 12:34

Indeed, g.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/18/13 at 12:59

Janis Joplin wasn't inducted until 1995? Seriously?

By: BenDover on 7/18/13 at 1:01

"How in the hell can The Beastie Boys be in but not Chicago, Deep Purple or KISS?"

Good point, GD although I'm not sure how this pertains to Weiner or what he could do unless he's elected Mayor.

I always thought "The Trees" was a good song by Rush.

By: yogiman on 7/18/13 at 1:05

Well, bfra,

If I'm a liar as you claim, how about reading the posts I've made on the issue. That is if you know how to read. If you can understand what Barry has "said" is a lie, then ask yourself: Who's lying, Barack Obama or yogiman? Then explain why Barry made the lie in 2006 when he made a trip to Kenya;" I am so proud to come back home."

Was he lying and really isn't from Kenya? If you can believe in him so much, what makes you think he was lying?

By: gdiafante on 7/18/13 at 1:08

Ben, Wenner co-founded the HOF foundation that determines who gets in. It's well-documented that he let his personal bias prevent many artists from getting in.

By: bfra on 7/18/13 at 1:54

gdiafante - Ben is being his usual obnoxious self, he evidently is talking abour Weiner that likes to post naked pictures to show everybody his short comings & is running for Mayor of NY.

By: yogiman on 7/18/13 at 1:58

Alexander and Corker both voted for that new amnesty bill, budlight. If the House passes that bill you can kiss the USA goodbye.

They're saying 11 million. How in the hell do they know how many million they are opening the door for? And why are they opening the door for millions of illegal aliens instead of law abiding foreigners who make every effort to come to the USA legally?

By: BenDover on 7/18/13 at 2:02

Huma doesn't mind his shortcomings, bfra. That could be a show marriage though because she and Hillary might have a thing. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/18/13 at 2:03

Ben, "Free Will" is a great song.

By: bfra on 7/18/13 at 2:18

Ben - What does that have to do with the HOF Foundation discussion?

By: bfra on 7/18/13 at 2:24

Ben - Did you think Weiner recorded that song "My Ding-a-ling? :-)

By: BenDover on 7/18/13 at 2:36

You know, bfra, one of my favorite live performances was watching Chuck Berry perform that on-stage at Memphis in May about 20 years ago. I was standing shin deep in mud (which helped me maintain my balance, I guess) and when he first came on-stage he pretended to be drunk... before, then, tearing into a set and show that would have worn out a young Garth Brooks.

That was a good year for some of the older artists. Leon Russel was there that yet too. Great time.

By: bfra on 7/18/13 at 2:44

Ben - Are you creating you own little debate & talking to yourself? Chuck Berry was great but what does that have to do with the price of eggs today? I never saw Chuck Berry when he didn't pretend to be drunk.

By: BenDover on 7/18/13 at 2:47

Well you brought up Weiner's short-comings and my ding-a-ling bfra.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/18/13 at 3:00

Ben, you saw Leon Russell too? That's great!

By: bfra on 7/18/13 at 3:02

Ben, YOU brought up Weiner (????) and it didn't make sense why. But then with you & yogi, it never does.

By: yogiman on 7/18/13 at 3:38

bfra,

I don't want to expose your arrogant ignorance, but you should check out this interview with a collection agent.
