Up for Debate: David Gregory's clip

Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 1:47am

What do you make of David Gregory flashing what he described as a "30-round magazine" on "Meet The Press"? Did he violate the law? If so, what's worse: that he displayed the magazine or that he could apparently get it easily?

We should let the NRA design the American school bus of the future....let them design the school too....they know the mindset of the gun nut, let them design and deploy their nut-proof educational model....we'll see how the model works, then proceed....Let LaPierre show us how to make our schools safe, let the NRA fund a model school program...that's the kind of stuff they should be working on, not defending the rights of lunatics....less talk, LaPierre and more action, please.

When Rasputin specks, no one listens, unless they want to hear a silly boy.

Come too me. Come to me. I need to kill. I need someone to but my trigger.

Oh hell no you are going to pull me.

Ghost of Trigger.

By: slacker on 12/27/12 at 12:34

ok.. we build these fancy, well staffed, nuthouses. How do we get the nutters committed?
Do you want to live in a society, where people are reporting other people as strange?
Want-a-minute we do that here. Never mind.

NRA Nutty Ranting Americans.

By: gdiafante on 12/27/12 at 12:35

Putting armed guards in every school in America does not address why someone would need an assault weapon, it doesn't solve the mental health/gun ownership issue, it doesn't solve the background check issue, it doesn't address gun safety.

There comes a time when enough is enough and people need to deal with the issue rather than kicking the can. This country is really good at not solving tough issues.

By: Loner on 12/27/12 at 12:38

Gun laws are no good unless they are enforced, no argument there. David Gregory had no bad intent, when he "flashed" his clip; but it was grandstanding. As I said earlier, the show's producers should have asked the cops to bring in weapons and clips to the show & tell...the cops probably would have jumped on such a great PR opportunity; they are sick and tired of the gun-nuts too....the producers screwed up....now they got some "splainin' to do.

By: slacker on 12/27/12 at 12:44

Everybody is already familiar with the guns that are being discussed, Most movies & tv shows, are full of them. But I must admit, I don't wanta see ''Dexter'' canceled.
I'm still pissed that they canceled ''Deadwood''.. I miss Jonie Stubbs.

By: Captain Nemo on 12/27/12 at 12:46

Loner, how do you know Gregory did not have any bad intentions? I just look at the video and I could see in his eyes that he was thinking FOX News and Rush. He wanted to take that clip and remove them. It was pure clip anger.

By: Loner on 12/27/12 at 12:46

Gd, here is a link to the online version of the NRA's national magazine.

http://www.americanrifleman.org/

The magazine is basically a promotional platform for the civilian gun manufacturers and their shills and fear-mongers...very slick...very professional....very scary.

Good point, Slack, we all pretty much know what an assault rifle and banana clip look like...the movie trailers are nothing but gunfire and explosions...you don't have to see the movie, to know what the star of the show looks like...it's the gun.

Gregory was grandstanding...it worked. He turned LaPierre into a tattle tale, dime-dropping snitch...LaPierre took the bait....now he looks even more the fool.

LONER SAID:; " I am in favor of abolishing the 2nd amendment and rounding up every gun in the country....of course, that will never happen....as a nation, we live by the gun and we shall die by the gun.....the mass hysteria has just begun....more carnage is certainly on its way....thanks to the gun lobby and their bought& paid for Congressional stooges."

Loner if 100% of the guns were gone, you would still have carnage in some form.

Until you change the hearts and consciousness of those who are evil and wish to kill -- you or me -- the carnage will not stop.

What part of that do you not get? Carnage can be wrought by guns, knives, poison, dynamite, other types of explosive devices, autos, planes and the list is endless. Yes, even bare hands can cause carnage.

Changing the hearts of the very evil is no easy task. It will take a higher power!

By: Captain Nemo on 12/27/12 at 1:42

Until you change the hearts and consciousness of those who are evil and wish to kill -- you or me -- the carnage will not stop.

She is right Loner; you ain't going to change this old bird’s heart and wishes.

Front Page of Duh Bud

Thousand killed by knife wheeling troll.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/27/12 at 1:51

bud, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't strive to create better laws and controls. An all or nothing approach won't solve anything.

By: gdiafante on 12/27/12 at 1:54

Right bud...carnage can never be prevented so let's not try. What a lazy, defeatist bunch of sh!t.

http://www.wsmv.com/story/20422557/ashland-city-shooting-husband-arrested

Why was this guy allowed to have a gun? He had already fired shots inside his home back in July and he had Alzheimer's. Why didn't the authorities remove the gun from the home?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/27/12 at 1:57

g, she said the higher power should take care of it. No worries.

By: dargent7 on 12/27/12 at 2:07

Rowdy Roddy Piper may have invented the Sleeper Hold, ( I bet it was Hulk Hogan), but Spock never used it.
He championed the "Vulcan Neck Pinch" and the "Vulcan Mind Meld".
For the record.
You guys have your witches mixed up with your wrestling.

By: gdiafante on 12/27/12 at 2:12

Higher power = let's hope that the situation spontaneously reverses itself.

right...

By: yogiman on 12/27/12 at 2:12

Tell me, B2,

If laws are enacted and enforced to protect us from criminals, and the police forces are created to control the criminals to whom the legal laws mean nothing, why would we need laws if the criminals were all good old honest law abiding American citizens? Why would we need police forces? I'm sure you have the answer so I'll wait for your it.

And maybe you can also give me the official answer as to why Obama was eligible for the office with a foreign father and teenage American mother even though he refuses to prove it, but Romney wasn't eligible with an American father and American mother... willingly showing proof he was born in the USA.

I hope I don't have to wait until 2016 to get your answer on that question.

By: gdiafante on 12/27/12 at 2:15

oh brother...why do I picture the troll as an elderly Eddie from Christmas Vacation? Quick, someone turn on the microwave...

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/27/12 at 2:15

Oh dear, here comes the village idiot with his Chorus of the Dumb Bells again.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/27/12 at 2:16

At least his wife is already dead so he won't end up shooting her like the guy in Ashland City did.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/27/12 at 2:17

Now, the neighbors and townspeople are another story.....

By: Captain Nemo on 12/27/12 at 2:17

It wasn’t the gun that killed her; it was a crazy old man.

Duh Bud-

By: dargent7 on 12/27/12 at 2:20

Bud has a valid point.
The recent wackos who shot Gabby G. in the head, a movie theater, Elementary school, were done by guns, assault rifles, extended magazines.
Let's not forget 9/11 was done by hijacked airplanes, killing 2,980.
McVeigh used fertilizer in a Ryder truck to kill 160 in OK.
But guns kill over 20,000 a year America.
Mostly one at a time.
Just as I cannot drive drunk, have to wear a seat belt, jump off the Golden Gate, or otherwise commit suicide, we are a culture of mindless violence.
Guns will never go completely away in America.
Or the world.

By: Captain Nemo on 12/27/12 at 2:22

Blanket, that was going to be my next post, but everyone by now knows the old fool well enough that his stupid questions has become a cliché.

By: Captain Nemo on 12/27/12 at 2:27

After posting this I thought that the troll would not understand what I was talking about.

Not to mention the guy who beat the barking dog with a baseball bat:

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/27/12 at 2:33

They will never go away but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't try to control and regulate them. That makes no sense.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/27/12 at 2:34

I saw that on the news last night, Funditto.

By: Captain Nemo on 12/27/12 at 2:35

Hello Fun!!!

Now only if that dog had a gun.

Get rid of the ''Carny's'.. weight guessing arseholes are destroying our schools.

More sorrow due to idiots:

By: bfra on 12/27/12 at 3:23

There is absolutely no reason for a toddler to have access to a gun. The responsible person that caused this sad situation should be prosecuted to the nth degree. Parent, friend, etc.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/27/12 at 3:25

I completely agree.

By: bfra on 12/27/12 at 3:56

Fun - That grandfather is probably whining about, po old me, I need sympathy & understanding. I hope they put the crazy old fool in jail for the rest of his life. He really doesn't even deserve to live.

By: Captain Nemo on 12/27/12 at 3:58

That won't be how the nuts see it. What is one child's life, to keep a warm gun in your hand.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/27/12 at 3:59

Good job protecting the family with that gun, huh?

By: bfra on 12/27/12 at 4:01

IMO, he is just as guilty as if he pulled the trigger. Ignorance is no excuse!

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/27/12 at 4:04

People need to take gun ownership seriously and I think they would be more inclined to if it were harder to get a gun. The gun needs to be locked and secured at all times that it is not in use. There is no excuse for this to happen.

I agree with you on this point. People should have to pay $200 (at least) for a complete background check; go to gun safety classes; and then pay another fee to register the gun (if they get it) and pay another fee to get the carry permit (IF they get it).

AND then if we enforced existing gun laws, we would be better off, now wouldn't we?

You people who make fun of others fit into the category of the shooters, except you all are shooting off at the mouth, with no heart, and hurting others.

Talk about low level thinking!
