What do you think about Dean's position on the approval process of charter schools considering what it means for local authority?

Coarse: harsh, raucous, or rough in tone.

You apparently didn't interpret the sentence as I wrote it, B2.

I ask again: Shall we edit each other?

At least I was educated on using common sense, bfra. It looks like you flunked that coarse.

yogi, do you think the use of the word "coarse" in the sentence above is correct?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/19/13 at 10:25

You state that you have a superior education and are smarter than the rest of us. I'm giving you the opportunity to demonstrate that, yogi.

By: yogiman on 2/19/13 at 10:27

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, B2. You apparently see beauty in your mirror.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/19/13 at 10:28

Please proceed to explain to me how I may have misinterpreted that.

By: Loner on 2/19/13 at 10:28

Coarse, or co-arse? Could have been a missing hyphen?

By: yogiman on 2/19/13 at 10:30

Sorry, I misspelled that. I meant "obviously" see beauty....

By: yogiman on 2/19/13 at 10:37

I hate to say (post) it, B2, but I don't think I could explain anything to you. You already know it. Or should I post 'no' it of course?

For all of you gun haters out there: "Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance. They are the peoples' liberty's teeth." - George Washington

By: pswindle on 2/19/13 at 10:41

What stake does Dean have in Charter Schools? How can he or his family profit? Metro and each country must keep their ability of running their own schools. The Edu. Sec. is mad because he and his ex-wife could not profit from Great Hearts and other for-profit businesses coming in to TN and robbing us our blind.

By: BenDover on 2/19/13 at 10:43

Loner... Darwin was very clearly the major influence on Hitler philosophically, not Christ; in the way Henry Ford was a huge influence as an industrialist.

Hitler's references to God were an appeal to what he considered the ignorant masses... a technique of his propaganda machine.

"The Constitution is the guide which I never will abandon." - George Washington

Is Barry Soetoro aka Barack Obama using the Constitution to wipe his a$$ in the 'out house'? What page of the Constitution is Barry using?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/19/13 at 10:53

yogi, you can't even effectively speak your native tongue. I doubt you understand the nuances of constitutional law.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/19/13 at 10:54

If you can't comprehend why your usage of "coarse" vs. "course" is incorrect it's no wonder that you cannot comprehend the information repeatedly provided to you explaining the legitimacy of Obama's presidency.

By: gdiafante on 2/19/13 at 10:56

I hate to say (post) it, B2, but I don't think I could explain anything to you. You already know it. Or should I post 'no' it of course?

In other words, I'm wrong but I'll damn sure not admit it to you.

And that is why yogi is full of bovine excrement.

Cherry-picking statements from the Age of Enlightenment and applying them to current issues, such as weapons that didn't exist in the 18th century, is completely redundant and indicative of someone attempting to change the subject...lol

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/19/13 at 10:59

g, I guess yogi is Ben's rabbit. Even a charter school couldn't have helped that idiot.

Loner said

"'Charter School' is a euphemism for a non-unionized school...a scab labor affair....this is the major 'appeal' of the concept...that and the fact that Christian schools can and do pose as 'charter schools' . There is smoke and there are mirrors, but the illusion is not very convincing; this is a bold right-wing attempt to wreck the secular, integrated, unionized, public schools.....and Mayor Dean is part of the wrecking crew."

Agreed. On top of that, there is no definitive evidence that charter (AKA private) schools perform any better when all things are taken into consideration. Just like Fedex chooses the more profitable routes leaving the dregs to the USPS, charter/private schools can remove students from "herd" that jeopardize their stats leaving the problem kids to the public schools.

By: slacker on 2/19/13 at 11:28

In 2008, Mayor Dean warned he would take over schools if grades didn't improve.
Something needs to happen, why not try this.

By: yogiman on 2/19/13 at 11:49

Okay, B2, please explain the legitimacy of Obama's presidency. Please explain how a British subject can become the President of the USA.

By: bfra on 2/19/13 at 11:57

Hey dopehead, a British subject can't become President of the USA. That is the reason there has never been one! Emptyhead, can you get that rammed up your arse, where your emptyhead is?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/19/13 at 11:57

yogi, first I'd like you to explain the difference between "coarse" and "course" and use each in a sentence and also explain the usage of "coarse" in your previous post.

By: slacker on 2/19/13 at 11:59

yogi.. you would be useful at Gitmo... your repetitive birther gibberish would be more effective than waterboarding.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/19/13 at 12:00

Indeed, slacker!

By: bfra on 2/19/13 at 12:16

slacker - That is a great idea, can we start a petition for a transfer to Gitmo?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/19/13 at 12:16

brrrrk, I agree with you in regard to charter schools.

By: yogiman on 2/19/13 at 12:17

bfra,

If Barry's father was who he claims, he was a British subject. So how did you man Barry become a natural born American citizen?

I don't know about you, but we followed in the heritage of our fathers when I was born. So how did Barry become a natural born citizen though his mother. The best he could have received would be dual-citizenship.

But if his paternal grandmother was telling the truth in an interview I heard, he was born in Kenya and his mother could not pass her American citizenship down to him at her age. Thus, he would be a plain damned British subject. So when did he even become an American citizen?

By: bfra on 2/19/13 at 12:18

slacker - Dean also referred to himself as the educational mayor. F U N N EEEE

By: slacker on 2/19/13 at 12:20

nazi, your comment about magnet schools makes a lot of sense. You would think that creating more of them would accomplish the same thing.
Shirley the Mayor thought of that, before taking the coarse he did.

nazi, the last Geneva convention.. banned yogi from Gitmo.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/19/13 at 12:33

slacker, I have friends who always managed to get their kids into the magnet schools here in Nashville. Something like 90% of Hume Fogg students qualify for scholarships.

By: gdiafante on 2/19/13 at 12:33

Of coarse yogi changes the subject again...

By: bfra on 2/19/13 at 12:34

slacker - He should be banned from the USA as a traitor & yellow bellied back stabber.

By: slacker on 2/19/13 at 12:40

Strap em' to a Drone..

By: gdiafante on 2/19/13 at 12:40

I get the distinct feeling though, blanket, that the fix is in with magnet schools. Put it this way...our child had an interview earlier in the month (I won't mention to school to protect the innocent) and the school had the parents fill out a questionaire...simple stuff like Why would _____ school be a good fit for your child etc.

Several parents were openly using a template they had printed off...one actually looked to have the Tennessee state seal...as if there were a correct answer to the question. The teachers that were there said nothing.

It makes you wonder...

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/19/13 at 12:53

Wow, g - that's not good. I wouldn't be surprised if the fix is already in, as you said. Money talks.

By: gdiafante on 2/19/13 at 12:55

Yeah, my wife is optimistic. Me, not so much. We'll see.

By: yogiman on 2/19/13 at 1:14

Are you "talking" about Obama in your 12:34 post, bfra?

By: Captain Nemo on 2/19/13 at 1:16

Ben ask should the Robin not fly because the rabbit has no wings.

Funny you should ask that Ben, because I saw a Robin run across two lanes of traffic in Clarksville today.

By: Captain Nemo on 2/19/13 at 1:21

Lets get the fact straight here, yogi you are not as smart as I am and Blanket is smarter than you can ever be.

By: Captain Nemo on 2/19/13 at 1:23

No one climes yogi as theirs, does it mean he is not real?

By: bfra on 2/19/13 at 1:24

Nemo - Ben said Robbin!

By: Captain Nemo on 2/19/13 at 1:25

There are no records of Paul Wade, does this mean yogi is a idiot?

By: Captain Nemo on 2/19/13 at 1:28

The 12:34 post of bfra is about you yogi. If you had any brains you would know that

By: Captain Nemo on 2/19/13 at 1:29

Batman's Robbin? :-)

slacker - If Dean & family are not getting a cut off the top, they will shut you down.

By: Captain Nemo on 2/19/13 at 1:38

Is there room for a moron like yogi, Professor?

By: yogiman on 2/19/13 at 1:41

bfra,

I'm still waiting for proof I'm wrong about my arguments on Obama.

If you can, please explain how my 12:17 comment is a moot point and a dumb comment when the comment was based on simple facts. Obviously you just don't know the facts?
