Up for Debate: Does Metro Council role favor Jameson?

Does Mike Jameson's past role on the Metro Council favor him in the judgeship selection process? Or could it perhaps hinder him?

Never heard of him. Bet he's never heard of me, either.

By: serr8d on 11/3/11 at 5:01

Does he believe in redistribution? If not, he's not of the 99%.

By: govskeptic on 11/3/11 at 5:02

What a silly question to be asking. Of course it does, and has always
favored both the good and bad that were currently or past members
of the council. Boy, has that stuck us with some real doozy's in the past!
Plum job for who ever get it. Great pay and benefits, 3 day weekend

Yeah, this is *exactly* as the TEA Party did.

I am a cancer patient. I have been receiving chemo in my oncologist's well equipped and staffed office, at minimum cost to Medicare. Now, for reasons I would like to discover, I am required to receive chemo in a hospital--at much greater cost in money to Medicare and my insurance carrier, and also at greater inconvenience and time required for me. I have thus far been unable to discover why this change was made, and who initiated it. HCA is my leading suspect.

I guess Channel 4 News edited out the "Occupy" group's, "child molesting, defacating on Police cars, exposing genitals, rapes, and the masturbation sequences..."
What web-sites do you and "yogi" frequent?

Anyone catch Perry being interviewed by Neo-Nazi Sean Hannity?
He wants to bomb Iran and Syria, kinda like with his limited mentality, make it a "two-fer".

Jameson is good and smart. And gay. So I doubt he'll get far.

By: serr8d on 11/3/11 at 6:37

And now you're telling me it's free at the Plaza?

You've a very small mind, if you think *anyone* participating in Nashville's #Occupy would've ever come up with any of the concepts and ideas that #Occupy represents, on their own time or dime.

As has been pointed out, #Occupy is now a nationwide push for neo-National Socialism. Nashville's is just a small backwater #outpost thereof, a third-rate #Occupy at best. The worst #Occupy stupidities come from the already-Blue megaburgs, like Oakland, New York City, Philthadelphia &c. Nashville is, thankfully, small potatoes in the far-Left scheme of things.

That's a good thing, really.

By: serr8d on 11/3/11 at 6:39

Funditto! Have you shared things in Nashville's #Occupy 'Tent City' yet ? )

By: serr8d on 11/3/11 at 6:43

THIS is what Nashville is missing out on...

Riot police from a number of Bay Area departments fired tear gas and other projectiles early Thursday and arrested dozens of demonstrators to break up Occupy Oakland protests that had drawn thousands of participants Wednesday.

Officers moved in near the City Hall encampment where tents re-sprouted after officials last week ordered them razed. The police action came after a predominantly peaceful day of protest that attracted more than 7,000 people of all ages and left-leaning political stripes.

The evening appeared to be winding down peacefully when protesters declared victory at the Port of Oakland at 9 p.m. Wednesday -- after authorities confirmed that a shift scheduled to start work at 7 p.m. had been canceled. But as demonstrators amassed again at the City Hall plaza, the situation devolved.

The world's a changin', my friend.
You old types are simply afraid of change.
And loosing money you climbed and stepped over the backs of people to get.
The USA is over $14.5 trillion in debt, paying $500. billion a year in interest alone.
If we had a credit card, the bank would take it away.
Something had to give since Washington cannot seem to get anything done.

By: dargent7 on 11/3/11 at 6:53

Oakland, CA is a lot like Detroit, MI.
Murder rates, homicides, robbery, rapes, auto theft, burglary.
Those cities are serious about violence.
Nothing like Nashville, TN. who's serious about playing music.

By: girliegirl on 11/3/11 at 7:21

Jameson is NOT gay. Crackheads....

By: Loner on 11/3/11 at 7:24

Good morning, Nashville!

Posting from a hotel room in Albany, NY, the capital of the Empire state.

This Jameson character was term-limited out of his council seat, right? Now the guy wants to continue the merry-go-round ride? How about getting honest work, for a change?

I just do not care for people who feel they are on a high enough moral plane to pass judgment on their fellow human beings. The most arrogant, egotistical people on this planet are judges, or those seeking to become a judge.

This guy is gay? The "gay agenda" thing is not a right-wing canard.... gays have forced most radio stations to remove the word "******" from Dire Strait's classic hit, "That ain't workin'". The song is banned in Canada. Oh yeah, the gay agenda goes beyond establishing equality and removing prejudice; that's just the tip of the iceberg....these folks want a lot more than equality, they want to ban offensive ideas, words and thoughts....that's gay fascism and I reject it.

Please,. no activist gays in a position like this...it's the agenda thing...go ahead, call me a bigot.

By: Loner on 11/3/11 at 7:35

OMG, the NCP has conformed to the gay agenda demands too....the filters kicked in on the f.a.g.g.o.t. word...in the Dire Straits tune,

Dire Straits was mocking out folks who use that term...that makes no difference, I suppose.....a modern copy of Mark Twain's work must look like a Swiss cheese, with all the "N" words removed....now the gays want to take their censor scissors to pop culture at large...."Don me now, my gay apparel", from the classic Christmas carol, will have to be re-written? The Flintstones are having "a gay old time"? The list goes on.

Gays are usually good people too, just don't put an activist gay in a position of power, where they can grind their axes and settle old scores.

By: serr8d on 11/3/11 at 7:35

Nothing at all wrong with gays, loner. With their high, squeaky voices and feminine gestures, why should any American fear them? After all, they will not reproduce; they will not further degrade the gene pool; their 'gay gene' should be waxing, right?

Unless there is no 'gay gene' (that claim always puzzled me: how do they pass 'gayness' along? where do new gays come from?), and they are instead just desirous of 'getting their rocks off' with - in the wrong sets of hardware. But..that would mean they are just like animals who simply can't compete and secure the cutest and bestest of the opposite sex, right?

Damn that Darwin fellow anyways~!

By: BenDover on 11/3/11 at 7:37

Jameson is important to the new City Paper so he must be a flaming lib.

By: BenDover on 11/3/11 at 7:37

Oh... SEIU endorsement... imagine that.

By: BenDover on 11/3/11 at 7:41

So, I guess it's gonna be Romney. Perry and Cain have melted down and both revealed the petulant child side to their personalities. Maybe we can get Paul Ryan as Veep and Newt as Sec. State.

By: serr8d on 11/3/11 at 7:43

Yes, Ben, I've all but given in to what passes for political reality. This fellow knows what day it is.

By: serr8d on 11/3/11 at 7:45

Heh. QOTD:

"Okay Mitt. I've kept Chris Christie, Paul Ryan, Mitch Daniels, Jeb Bush, and Haley Barbour out of the race for you. And I've got this sexual harassment stuff going with Cain, and I put Rick Perry to sleep at the debates. But you'll have to do the rest on your own. And remember, you owe me."

By: Loner on 11/3/11 at 7:52

Ser8d claims that the OWS movement is anti-Semitic...he put that charge at the top of his list. Isn't that something.... our resident right-wing nut is now a champion of civil rights, for the oppressed Jews....but death to all Muslims, Arabs and Iranians. Perhaps he is on the AIPAC payroll too...they aren't too picky about the friends they keep...so long as they spew the Israeli lies.

The list of alleged OWS offenses is a compilation of offenses committed by right-wing infiltrators into these demonstrations - agents provocateur. The Koch Brothers, Rupert Murdoch and Mayor Bloomberg are splitting the tab for the professional goons?

How about that Herman the Pie-man stud?...he's playing the "hi-tech lynching" race card and blaming the Niggerhead Mountain boys for smearing him....looks like one of his accusers received a full year's pay, as an incentive to resign her position and clam up over Herman's sexual predation problem.

Now a third woman is speaking out...soon the love children will be trotted out? Herman just can't keep his pepperoni in his pants,...LOL.

My crystal balls predicted this Cain sex scandal several weeks ago, I announced this on these NCP boards...the crystalline spheres of clairvoyance are working very well. More predictions will be forthcoming.

By: BenDover on 11/3/11 at 7:53

good serr8...

By: dargent7 on 11/3/11 at 7:58

There's no "gay gene".
It's consciousness. That spirit that doesn't reside in your brain, or even your heart.
It makes, you, you.
The idiotic lame brains, who can mostly be found in the Republican party, believe being "gay" is "chosen", therefore condemned or even cured.
Being Catholic can be cured.

By: Loner on 11/3/11 at 8:06

I agree with Ben, it's going to be Mitt...the heretical Christian in the magic underwear...the flip-floppingest of all the candidates out there...the man who would do anything, to become POTUS....anything.

Obama will mop the floor with the has-been....Mitt's been out of the loop for far too long...he's not up to speed.

I am not happy with the prospect of 4 more years of the reneger-in-chief....but Mitt is not any better...Mitt has been vetted and approved by our Israeli overlords...the race could go either way....it depends on whether or not Obama has adequately atoned for his pro-Palestinian remarks. Remember, Mayor Ed Koch put a shank in Obama's back recently over the Israel issue...Ed backed a TP candidate, to send Obama a message.

Jews may back the white @ss-licker, as opposed to the "schwarze" @ss-licker...they are a race-conscious people, as we all can see by their actions in apartheid Israel.

By: jvh2b on 11/3/11 at 8:10

serr8 - could you be any more blatantly stupid? Or do you just play that in your online persona?

Saying all gays are like that is like me saying all right wing people are just as insane and stupid as you....which just simply isn't true.

I for one don't take on any of the mannerisms you mentioned...and I take it up the gay with the best of em =) Now get that image out of your head...haha.

As far as a gene, it could be a recessive gene - I mean yes gays are reproducing with each other, but Christ, you straight people keep making more of us! So blame the hetero's! I mean the gay's have only been around as long as the hetero's...so we ain't died out yet and ain't gonna.

Loner - I'm shocked, but not really now that I think of it. For the record, 95% of the gays don't want the fascism you mention. I'll give you there is an element that looks bad on us. but for Christs sake, look at serr8 - you think he represents all right wingers? Hardly...

And for the record -- the f-a word is very offensive -- kinda like the n word for black folks. It rightfully should be censored. There's just no place for it in civilized society.

By: Loner on 11/3/11 at 8:12

If there is a "gay gene", then there must be a "Christian gene", a "Jewish gene", a "Republican gene", a "Democratic gene" etc. Those are all choices, right...Constitutionally protected choices.

Born gay, or choosing gay...either way, it is absolutely irrelevant to the rights issue. Choices are no less legitimate than congenital conditions, as the basis for personal freedom and liberty.

By: jvh2b on 11/3/11 at 8:16

I've always loved how people make the choice in their religion -- which is a protected status, but yet whine and moan about the gays being a choice and yet not deserving any protection from it.

Hypocrisy at it's finest.

Oh and an addendum to my prior post - the f word can be offensive in the proper context - I've used the word many a time in both context - don't mind if a straight person uses it as long as it's not being hateful - and yes that speaks to my lack of civility ;)

By: yogiman on 11/3/11 at 8:20

Why did you only look into your crystal ball for negative views on Herman Cain? Haven't any of the other "contestants" ever "screwed" around in their younger days?

Get that old foggy ball back out and look deep into it.

By: Loner on 11/3/11 at 8:26

JVH, we agree on many issues. I am a UU member and we have gays and gay pastors...they are my friends...my nephew is gay.

My beef is with those who want to censor, or outlaw words and ideas. I do not care for book burners and thought police...and activist gays often fall into that category.

I do not want to appear before a prejudiced judge, nobody does. If Jameson is a gay activist, then no, he is not suitable for the bench, IMO.

By: yogiman on 11/3/11 at 8:26

Ooh, I just looked into my ball (crystal ball that is). What was that I saw about Newt Gingrich? Kind of foggy but there's something negative in there about him. What about the others? Need to take a deeper look.

What did your crystal ball tell you about Barack Obama? Or did you look into it to see what it 'said' about him?

Hell, other than me, name one perfect American for that office.

By: BenDover on 11/3/11 at 8:26

Oh geezzz... not the 'being gay is a civil right' thing again.

By: jvh2b on 11/3/11 at 8:30

And yet again - we can agree on that Loner =)

By: Loner on 11/3/11 at 8:34

Yogi, I do not go to the balls with specific questions...the spheres speak for themselves...unbridled and uncensored. The balls revealed this to me, I did not ask about Herman's sex problem. All I do is wipe Windex on the globes, light up a stick of incense...and a doobie....and wait for the balls to speak.

It's amazing.

I hear you, JVH, the context in the tune was pro-gay, not anti-gay...the lyrics are mocking out anti-gay bigotry. The gay censors cut themselves on that one....makes all gays look like silly whiners and A-holes. It hurts the movement, it does not help it.

By: jvh2b on 11/3/11 at 8:41

No doubt Loner - the more inflexible and intolerant they become, the more like those that disagree w/ us we become.

Does much more harm than good, IMHO.

By: Loner on 11/3/11 at 8:43

Being gay IS a civil right, Ben...it is not illegal and it is no longer considered to be a "disease".

Choices are also protected by the Bill of Rights; the idea that only congenital conditions are bona fide and protected from prejudice and hate is absurd.

Voting is expressing choices...voting is protected as a fundamental right....nobody is born a Democrat , or born a Republican.

You chose to be a TP_ Republican, Ben...that's a choice, not a congenital condition...your choice is legit and bona fide, right?

By: yogiman on 11/3/11 at 8:51

We actually know nothing about the accusations against Herman Cain except they were made. My first question was; why did they wait so long? The man was in such a financial condition anyone "offended" would have filed a lawsuit years ago. Why didn't they?

Another thing to consider: If Herman Cain wins that office it pretty much takes the race factor out of our country. After all, it has made a lot of people a lot of money and they don't want to loose their money making factors.

For the few of you who don't remember, black American were known as Negroes. When LBJ (who was a racist from the word go) got the segregation bill passed (for their votes, of course) 1n 1964, the young black Americans became Afro-Americans. I few years went by and they decided that wasn't the proper name for themselves so they changed it to Afra-Americans, shorting the name meaning of "African-Americans". That was their "name" for a few years and they finally decided it should be African-American.

Me thinks if Herman Cain wins that Seat the African-Americans soon will become plain damn ol' Americans.

By: BenDover on 11/3/11 at 8:57

It all will boil down, as it always does, to gay marriage loner.

The question is, does society have the right to determine thresholds for sanctioned marriage. (the answer for that is obviously yes). How is this to be determined? Obviously the only way is by popular opinion through our representative democracy/republic. Then they'll start arguing 'civil rights', implying a judge can trump society's will... and then there'll be 400 meaningless posts after that because there is no common ground to be had between the reason of society deciding and the emotion of gays wanting to force society to sanction homosexuality.

By: Loner on 11/3/11 at 9:05

LBJ was a total scumbag...we agree on that. He may have conspired to have JFK whacked.

When the USS Liberty was viciously attacked, by the Israelis, in June of 1967, LBJ oversaw the quickest US Naval Inquiry in US history; the testimony of the Israelis was accepted as Gospel truth, the testimony of the Liberty's crew was ignored.

One lingering explanation is that the Mossad had LBJ by the scrotum...the Mossad may have whacked JFK and Oswald- JFK had said NO to Israeli nukes; after JFK was murdered, LBJ said YES to Israeli nukes...a quid pro quo, some say....LBJ's elevation to the presidency was the reward for his treasonous action?

LBJ hated JFK; the assassination and botched police work all occurred in LBJ's Texas...that was no coincidence. LBJ was an evil person, IMHO.

By: jvh2b on 11/3/11 at 9:11

Uh Yogi - you might wanna pull your head outta your hind end on the Cain thing...

These ladies aren't trying to bring up a suit against him now.

Information surfaced on Cain's past. Just like information surfaces on every front runner - Perry and the poorly named rock, Obama in muslim garb...etc etc.

FACT - these ladies made a claim they were uncomfortable or sexually harassed.
FACT - a settlement was reached with them -- they were paid to not talk about it anymore.

All this 'scandal' is - is a presentation of past FACTS - which Cain didn't remember, then remembered, then couldn't remember how much then remembered how much. And now the douchebag is trying to make an accusation (not supported by facts or evidence as he himself has admitted) that it's because he's black and conservative.

The man is self destructing - and thank god we find out this well before he gets any position of power.

Damn pesky facts....

By: dargent7 on 11/3/11 at 9:13

"...my father's gay...."
George Costanza

By: Loner on 11/3/11 at 9:17

Ben, bigotry is not made legitimate, simply because a majority of the population practices it. That is settled law, my friend.

Since marriage is a legal contract between two people, not strictly a religious rite, Biblical laws, designed by Jews for Jews, should not apply in the USA today..

Legal contracts cannot be gender specific, or gender limited without violating laws that outlaw gender prejudice in civil contracts. At one time it was illegal for women to enter into contracts, same goes for Negroes and Indians too...we've come a long way, baby.

By: dargent7 on 11/3/11 at 9:24

These ladies, now numbering 3, are scum.
Whatever occured happened in 1998.
They either quit, retired, received settlements, whatever.
Unless he pulled his "johnson" out,( like Bill Clinton), and waved it around, it's all about "being in the workplace".
When I was working in Detroit, some women Xerox'd their asses and titties.
I should of sued them. (but they were attractive).
The sillouettes they're showing looks like all 3 are black women.
I bet 2 of their husbands/ boyfriends are in jail right now.
So, don't cry now over an incident 12 years ago.
I don't think Cain could beat Obama in 1,000 years, but I wanted him to give it a shot.

By: Loner on 11/3/11 at 9:27

Cain's cigarette-smoking campaign manager is claiming that the Perry supporters dragged up Cain's ugly sexual miscues..not a shred of evidence to support that, of course.

II agree with JVH, it's better that we hear about Cain's pepperoni pranks now, rather than when he is in office...an ounce of prevention and all that.

The born-agains are miffed....they do not want a Mormon in the WH...and I agree with that....please, no members of the lost tribes of Judah...the yarmulke-wearing @ss-licking is soooo unpresidential.

By: brrrrk on 11/3/11 at 9:27

A slip of the tongue can often reveal the truth in the way one feels.

"OUR blacks are better than their blacks" - Ann Coulter.
