Up for Debate: Election upsets

Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 11:50pm

What's your reaction to some of the local and state political upsets from Thursday? For example, in the District 9 school board race Amy Frogge beat Margaret Dolan despite the latter's massive campaign fundraising success. Sharon Gentry toppled long-standing board veteran Ed Kindall in the District 1 board race. Elissa Kim took down school board chair Gracie Porter in District 5. Also, in a big state race upset, Courtney Rogers, backed by the NRA, beat House Caucus Chair Debra Maggart. And Harold Love squeaked out the upset over incumbent Mary Pruitt.

Yogi, do you have a saved copy of the idiot statement you repeat day in, day out, or do you recall all that from your grey matter?

By: bfra on 8/7/12 at 7:05

gdiafante - You asked a logical question, don't expect a logical answer.

It's Tuesday already and this paper is still running on Friday's postings.
Is there still life at The City Paper, or is a respirator at full throttle?

By: dargent7 on 8/7/12 at 7:37

$10 bucks the Editor read some of these posts and decided the patient was brain-dead and took it off of life-support.
Another $10 bucks says it was "yogi's" bulls****.

This article was of limited interest when it was published last week...it has not become more interesting with age.

Maybe the NCP has had enough of the chat room business....perhaps they too have tired of the troll droppings....maybe they have simply run out of ideas....see ya later!

By: yogiman on 8/7/12 at 8:11

Bulls... to you and your fellow fools, dargent7.

I would think if NCP left this interest in the folder today it would mean they thought of it as interesting. Maybe you should get a job down there telling them how to run their site.

You may be able to convince them you know more about it than they.

By: yogiman on 8/7/12 at 8:19

You should read an entire statement, Kosh III, before you make a stupid comment.

I said I took magazines to VA hospitals, I made no comment about going for service.

I'm sorry, I didn't know you couldn't read so well.

By: bfra on 8/7/12 at 8:24

That yogi is probably like every lie you have posted on this site!

By: yogiman on 8/7/12 at 8:47

Well, bfra, it looks like you're still keeping those bad farts repeating [themselves] again.

What's the latest lie you have determined in your feeble mind?

By: yogiman on 8/7/12 at 8:52

For anyone interested in the USA, I suggest you check out www.riseupforamerica.com/

Maybe It will give you a little knowledge you don't have now.

For anyone interested in Yogi, I suggest you check out www.hesaf*ckingmoron.com

Maybe it will give you information you already have though...

gdiafante - LOL

By: Beernazi on 8/7/12 at 10:11

That's funny, g!

By: Beernazi on 8/7/12 at 10:12

He's also on the cover of this month's paranoidgeriatrics.com.

By: yogiman on 8/7/12 at 10:19

You're showing your ignorance too much, gdiafarte. It's funny, you, and your co-posters can criticize my claims on "your man" but you haven't been able to prove me wrong. And I don't mean by just making an ignorant comment.

Prove his "birth certificate" was authenticated by the health department of Hawaii. Prove the SSN he is using was issued to him instead of a man from Connecticut in 1880. Prove his service registration form was issued to him. Prove it was in error he was advertised as born in Kenya for 17 years.

I hope you and your fellow posters are ready for communism and the Islamic faith if he gets to pull a martial law act off.

Listen to that man on the www.riseupforamerica.com site and let me know what you think. Is he lying? Is he a fanatic?

By: bfra on 8/7/12 at 10:36

Dumb old fool doesn't know, you have to be right before anyone can prove you wrong.

By: yogiman on 8/7/12 at 11:02

Excuse me? How can you prove me wrong if I'm right? I can't wait for your answer to that ignorant remark. I've always thought you had to know someone was wrong before you could prove it.

By: bfra on 8/7/12 at 11:09

Whiz! Right over the old fool's head, again.

By: yogiman on 8/7/12 at 11:25

WOW! I sure wish I had the intelligence you seen to think you have, bfra. but you're blowing your bad farts repeatedly again.

But then, it's no surprise... with you intelligence, only you know.

By: Captain Nemo on 8/7/12 at 11:35

The like of a come back is pityful. Embarssing for all right wing nuts.

By: gdiafante on 8/7/12 at 11:46

but you haven't been able to prove me wrong

Yada yada yada...when the record is scratched, you throw it out and get a new one.

By: gdiafante on 8/7/12 at 11:47

Yogi, my four year old makes fart jokes. Try and act like an adult for once. Thanks.

By: Beernazi on 8/7/12 at 11:57

This page is rated PG.

yogi: The, "Pull my finger" was used by my grandfather in 1961. It was a riot then, but now?
And start readying yourself to explain how Mittens dad and grandad, both born in Mexico, makes him legal to be President by your definition.
Thow in Lovey's dad was born in Wales.
Buy your thought, there'd be two usurpers in the W.H.

By: gdiafante on 8/7/12 at 12:12

There is no amount of legitimate evidence that could be persuaded to convince any of those loons. That's a fact. It's a monumental waste of time arguing about it.

By: Beernazi on 8/7/12 at 2:18

They don't even fact check their own crap before they post it. Looks like they're up to their usual dumbassery.

By: yogiman on 8/7/12 at 3:40

You need to study a little more, dargent7. Mitt Romney's grandfather MOVED to Mexico. He wasn't born there. His father was born in Mexico and moved to the USA when he became an adult. He served as governor of Michigan. To be elected to a governor's position, you must be an American citizen. No state allows a foreigner to serve as governor... or even mayor of a city.

Question: Did Mitt Romney's father have to go through the naturalization process to become an American citizen? No. He was born as one.

With American citizens as his parents, Mitt Romney was born as a natural born citizen... qualified to run for the President's office.

Romney has been willing to offer that proof. Barack Obama has not. Haven't you ever wondered why?

By: Captain Nemo on 8/7/12 at 6:28

Blanket their fact check is crap.
