Congeal now? No.
Gingrich promises to fight all summer until the bitter end.
As does Santorum and Paul.
They can all raise millions of dollars so campaigning is a great summer job. What else do they have to do?
You want 76 tear old Paul operating on you?

By: govskeptic on 2/1/12 at 7:16

Only one of the still remaining four has the organization and financial
backing to go all the way! Two or more may make it until Super Tuesday,
but that will mark the end of this Primary season!

By: dargent7 on 2/1/12 at 7:18

gov: See Gingrich's tour bus? The Rolling Stones are jealous.
See his wife? Motley Crue took a pass.

By: yogiman on 2/1/12 at 8:14

It ain't over 'til its over. And isn't it a shame it can be considered a man can BUY his way into our White House?

Wouldn't it be better to have the actual best man for the job?

As has been noted before, 2012 is going to be the most important election our nation has ever experienced following the years after the 2008 farce.

Its pretty obvious congress hasn't felt they are due to serve the people for decades now. They are only serving their advertisers.

Yogi fact #6

Does not have a birth certificate, only has an apology letter from a condom manufacturer.

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 8:22

Good morning, Nashville.

As long as the unregulated superpacs keep pumping their millions into the race, the race will continue - why not? Only a fool would decline the "money for nuthin'" offers.. trouble is, the money is for something, not nothing...and that something is control over the nation's top lawmaker, the President of the United States.

This Republican horse race has become a Republican whore's race.

Gingrich has accepted 10million dollars from Sheldon and Miriam Adelson...the Adelsons own a huge gambling empire and the feds are investigating their operation at this time. If Gingrich were to win the presidency, that federal investigation would be quickly terminated.

Adelson is a dual citizenship super-Zionist who loathes Muslims, especially the Palestinians. Gingrich has promised the Adelsons that on his first day in office, as POTUS, he would order that the US Embassy be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.....instantly undermining 63 years of reasonable US policy.

All these guys are whores; they perform tricks for Johns...for cash.

By: govskeptic on 2/1/12 at 8:33

Zionist who loathes Muslims? I think there's a law against that!

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 8:39

You got that backwards, Govseptic; hating Muslims is allowed by law...hating Zionists is considered "anti-Semitic" and one can go to jail for anti-Semitic activity....Palestinians are a Semitic people, but the "anti-Semitism" laws do not apply to them...just to the Jews....they usurped the Semitic designation.

Hope that clears things up for you, Gov.

Where are the "Birther's" now that Romney is winning? Daddy and granddaddy born in Mexico. Wife's dad was born in Wales. The whole Romney family tree should be explored and vetted. Looks fishy to me. Oh, wait, I forgot. He's white.

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 8:47

I don't know about you folks, but I do not like the idea that the US President should serve the Israeli Prime Minister, in a feudalistic vassal - liege lord relationship.

Born agains passionately disagree with me on that point; they argue that the Israelis are the ancient Chosen People, referred to in the Bible, and that we must support them on every point, or be punished by the Jewish God. The Israelis are considered Divinely sanctioned, infallible and righteous.... US Christians are to support the Jewish State, even if that means destroying the USA, in order to do so.

The US has no reciprocal control over Israeli politics and their Knesset...the Jews would never stand for what we subjugated goyim are expected to endure.

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 8:51

White candidates need a lot less vetting, Darge...black candidates require more....that's Tea Bagger logic.

They did not apply that rule to Sperman Cain, however....next time, they may actually vet a black Republican office-seeker...to avoid the embarrassment.

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 9:00

How about that editor of the Atlanta Jewish Times, Andrew Adler....he openly called for Mossad agents, stationed in the USA, to assassinate President Obama. He has since apologized, but he remains a free man...he's selling his newspaper...cashing in his chips...next stop: Israel.

If a Mulsim newspaper had pulled a stunt like that, the owners and editors would be in GITMO sucking water by now. Jewish money in US politics has tilted the playing field in Israel's favor....Holy Wars Suck.

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 9:01

"Mulsim" s/h/b "Muslim"....my bad.

By: Rasputin72 on 2/1/12 at 9:04

I love to read the comments in any forum. It reminds me of how splintered this country has become.

By: yogiman on 2/1/12 at 9:13

Wrong again gdiafarte,

I do have a birth certificate. I also have an honorable discharge from my time in service. Do you?

So: You like questions? OK. I'm sure you have answers, so tell me;

If any other of our 'presidents' had pronounced the Marine Corps as if it were the Marine Corpse, would you approve... or think of him as a disrespectful idiot?

If any other of our presidents had put 87,000 workers out of work by arbitrarily placing a moratorium on offshore drilling on companies that have one of the best safety records of any industry because one foreign company had an accident, would you have agreed?

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 9:18

Rasp: Hate radio, Christian radio & TV, FOX news and the right-wing online hate sites are working 24/7 to divide the nation into "us" versus "them". They make their profits by promoting hate, fear, mistrust and divisiveness. This worrying trend has been ongoing since Reagan threw out the Fairness Doctrine. Now the filthy rich, one-percenters have bought up all the major media outlets, as a result, the public is deprived of hearing/seeing the opposing viewpoint(s).

We are on the road to hate-based, fear-based, faith-based fascism...and the profit-hungry media are willing partners in the methodical destruction of our democracy.

If we factor in these powerful and unregulated superpacs, we may conclude that the end must be near. This is not what the Founders had in mind.

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 9:23

The troll has been teased and harassed....now he fights back....this is a recipe for troll retention....the troll seeks attention - positive or negative.

Loner - We are on the road to hate-based, fear-based, faith-based fascism...and the profit-hungry media are willing partners in the methodical destruction of our democracy. ================================================================

Golly Loner, we have 1 old coot, trying doing that, right here on this board, & not costing him 1 penney!

By: govskeptic on 2/1/12 at 9:32

Rant on brother, we are so starved for enlightenment down in this hither-land!

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 9:38

Bfra, that old coot got all those hateful ideas and allegations from the right-wing sources that I mentioned earlier....that old coot has tens of millions of comrades.

Once they are misinformed and whipped into a hateful lather, these folks go online and regurgitate the hate...or a close approximation of the hate....adding their own anecdotal evidence to support the hateful claims.

The advent of the internet will probably exacerbate the hate...I do not see it as promoting peace, as much as it promotes war.

Primarily, the internet seems to spawn violence and unrest, not pacifism and peace...IMO.

No, I do not blame the technology for the hate....humans are responsible for their sins, not their machines.

By: bfra on 2/1/12 at 9:46

Loner - True on all aspects! It is just a crime, that normal, responsible posters have to be subject to their perversions.

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 9:47

I assume that this post was directed at the Lone One:

By: govskeptic on 2/1/12 at 8:32

Rant on brother, we are so starved for enlightenment down in this hither-land!

If there is a consensus here on this forum that agrees with Govseptic...that my "rants" are really no longer welcome here, or whatever...then I will voluntarily leave the Nashville City Paper's comment boards.

Let's take a vote...a tally...should Loner get off these NCP comment boards? Please unload at this time...I certainly do not wish to be the troll here....let's be honest...what do all you other folks think about this...should I leave, or should I stay?

Thanks,

Loner

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 10:05

I must correct my 7:32 post; I wrote, "Gingrich has accepted 10 million dollars from Sheldon and Miriam Adelson". That is not technically accurate, the Adelsons gave the ten million to a superpac that supports the Newt; that powerful superpac is named, "Save Our Future".

Guess whose future Newt's superpac is talking about...could it be the future of the 1%ers? It sure isn't our future that they want to save.

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 10:08

Correction: In my 9:06 post, 7:32 post s/h/b 7:22 post....need my morning meds.

By: jvh2b on 2/1/12 at 10:23

Loner you know you are wanted here...don't even entertain the thought that you are not.

By: yogiman on 2/1/12 at 10:25

"Speak" for yourself, Loner. And call me whatever you wish. I just consider the source, understand it and ignore it.

This ol' coot is, and has been, trying to post the actual facts to a bunch of constitutional ignoramuses that welcomed a usurper into the President's office. Why? His 'race' is the only reason all of you have noted because you simply don't know who in the hell he is.

I have simply offered you scores of information and evidence on his illegal status from the beginning of my posting here, but you ignore it because of you ignorant conclusion I am on it because of his race.

And another point you might want to ignore. If you vote for Mitt Romney, the only difference between the two will be Romney's legitimacy.

By: pswindle on 2/1/12 at 10:26

Mitt has turned out to be a mean insensitive man that would say or do anything to get elected. How could we trust a shallow man as this? How many lives as he ruined to get his millions of dollars? When the truth comes out about where all of his money is hidden away, we will surely know what a greedy man he is.

By: bfra on 2/1/12 at 10:34

yogi - I have simply offered you scores of information and evidence on his illegal status from the beginning of my posting here, but you ignore it because of you ignorant conclusion I am on it because of his race.
========================================================

Well yogi posts another lie! He has never offered any evidence or proof of anything he has ever put on this board! Not ever!

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 10:36

Thank You, JV. That's one vote for me to stay.

Right you are, Pswindle.

Romney: 'I'm not concerned about the very poor'

WASHINGTON — Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Wednesday that he's "not concerned about the very poor" because they have an "ample safety net" and he's focused instead on relieving the suffering of middle-class people hit hard by the bad economy.....In comments likely to become fodder for his critics, Romney emphasized, "You can focus on the very poor, that's not my focus."

Source:

By: bfra on 2/1/12 at 10:41

Loner - I vote you stick around. Don't alway agree on some issues but, you always offer interesting input & give references to back up what you post. I find your posts very relevent for creating a good comment board.

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 10:41

Mitt seems to be gaff-prone...$10,000 bets during a debate....now he's "not concerned about the very poor".....he needs to engage brain before engaging mouth....exuberance can cause this error to occur....this is not a good feature in a President....we had 8 years of Junior Bush engaging his mouth, while his brain was idling... in neutral.

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 10:43

Thank you, Bfra, for the kind words...I'll try to live up to that.

That's two votes to stay...one to leave.

By: yogiman on 2/1/12 at 10:50

BS, bfra.

You simply haven't read what I have posted here... so let me try again.

First, simply read and understand the Constitution. Need a copy of it? Let me know and I'll be glad to send you a pocket sized print so you can carry it with you and read it when you aren't making a fool out of yourself here. Then read his autobiography which he shows just about everything I have noted on him.

If you had the intelligence you seem to think you have you should know he lost any eligibility he had when he was adopted as an Indonesian citizen because Indonesia did not accept dual citizenship.

That alone should tell an intelligent person enough about the man. Wanna go further?

By: dargent7 on 2/1/12 at 10:51

Couldn't come up with a better script. Now, "yogi" is taking on the Marines.
And an Italian Marine at that. If we don't hear from "yogi" ever again, we'll thank gD.

By: yogiman on 2/1/12 at 10:59

Loner,

I couldn't legitimately bet $10,000 on an issue but I'd be $10 to a donut Barack Obama isn't and American citizen. Wanna bet?

I just saw a couple of episodes where Bush and Obama walked into a room with GIs there. Wish you could see the difference in their greetings and goodbyes.

By: yogiman on 2/1/12 at 11:08

dargent7,

Please explain (if you have such intelligence), in what way did I denigrate the Marines?

I simply asked his thoughts on the apparent ignorance of "his" CIC's definition of them.

I believe my CIC would have called them the Marine Corp. rather than the Marine Corpses. Unless, of course, they were a group on dead Marines.

By: dargent7 on 2/1/12 at 11:19

gD is/ was/ always will be, a Marine. Numbskull.

By: yogiman on 2/1/12 at 11:28

Where did I raise that question, fellow dumbskull?

I doubt if you know it, but when you volunteer for service and take that oath, you obligate yourself for life and can be re-called any time when necessary.

Thankfully, they can only recall veterans if they run out of reserves.

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 11:36

I'd like the candidates to release their IQ's, (Stanford Binet etc.), their elementary school report cards, their SAT scores, their high school and college transcripts....then we could better gauge the work habits, character and mental fitness of each candidate....after all this this the top job in the nation, we should demand more disclosure of this nature.

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 11:45

The born-agains don't trust Romney...the "heretic cult" aspect of the LDS has them spooked....and that fear is not going to go away anytime soon.....unless Romney chooses a guy like Santorum for his Veep, he is not going to excite the born-agains..the GOP-TP base...even then, that choice might be viewed as disingenuous pandering.....the pandering move could fail to excite the base, but it would excite the Dems and Indies to say , "NO", in the general election.

I think that Obama will win a second term.

By: bfra on 2/1/12 at 11:48

I would like yogi to show his IQ. I have never seen a zero IQ before.

By: yogiman on 2/1/12 at 12:08

Two point, Loner.

I agree with you. ALL candidate should willingly show their papers. Birth certificate, school papers; you name it, including Obama.

But its funny; you didn't seen to have that attitude when 'Barack Obama' was running. Why not? And Obama can not win a second term if he didn't legally win a first term.

By: yogiman on 2/1/12 at 12:12

Yes you have, bfra. Every time you look in a mirror.

But if you really want to expose your ignorance; I'll take an IQ test with you at any time.

By: LizzyD on 2/1/12 at 12:14

You got my vote, Lone One.

Another DUMB yogi post! Guess yogi sees IQs when he looks in the mirror because he doesn't have one, most people don't.

By: Moonglow1 on 2/1/12 at 12:47

Moonglow1: Loner, you have my vote to stay and post. Your posts are the best ones.

As for the election, the Super PAC money could be put to better use like "trickle down economics. " I don't see any wealthy "trickle down" from the Fat Cats supporting these candidates. All of this money is supporting nonsense. Romney will win. Newt will go on, but Newt shall be neutered.

By: brrrrk on 2/1/12 at 1:42

Gee, one has to wonder how a simple High School graduate like.... say... Truman would have held up to that scrutiny?

By: dargent7 on 2/1/12 at 1:48

Don't forget, Romney was a missionary with the Mormon Church.
It's like the Peace Corps.
He eschews coffee, tea, beer, alcohol, cigarettes and doggie style sex with his wife.
Sounds like a great lifestyle if you can just get around the "doggie-style" sex.
I'm still working on the coffee no-no.

By: Loner on 2/1/12 at 1:51

Thanks for your votes, Moonglow and LiZZyd...and the kind words.

Brrrrk, in those days, a HS diploma meant more than it does today...Truman was not undereducated by the standards of his day, IMO.

IMO, Truman blundered on several key issues...he was no intellectual, that's for sure.

By: dargent7 on 2/1/12 at 1:54

Truman did have the 'genius" to pull the trigger on two atomic bombs on Japan, however.
Killed 500,000 people.
GW Bush, and his daddy, G HW Bush, only killed 300,000 Iraqi's trying to "save them" and the entire world.
I have a feeling "the world" looks at the USA as the central terrorist organization making the mafia look like children in the play yard.
It's always, "What we want, when we want it, and by whom".
