What's your take on the Penn State scandal? Can Paterno's legacy survive? How does the school move forward?

For those who are interested, here's the link to the grand jury report regarding Penn State....

One thing that is clear in the report is that it is unclear what was exactly reported to Paterno. As Mike Munchak said, “I don’t know what he knew at the time so it’s kind of hard to judge at the time on what he decided”. The one big question I have is, how is Mike McQueary surviving this? As the sole witness to the 2002 incident, it seems funny to me that he should be overlooked while Paterno is fired. That smells fishy.....

A Bush 45 would be a damn sight better than Obama 44 has been.

Irrational, unsubstantiated, senseless optimism:

I think that Ben, is yankin' our collective chains...he can't be serious...LOL, Ben...for a moment there, I thought that you were serious.

IMO, Penn State should scrap their football program for good; every time their team goes onto the field, folks will remember the criminality of the university's top people...if they drop the football program now, eventually their good name will be restored, by way of public forgetfulness...even that will take many years.

I have zero sympathy for Penn State...their charter ought to be re-examined....the entire head shed should tender their resignations. Penn State will be synonymous with football obsession and gross, pervasive criminality.

Time for Penn State to hang up the jockstrap, for good, and get back to their mission. The mission is Education, not being a farm team for the NFL.

I hate to tell you this knowing you're an Obama lover, but actually true Americans would accept anyone in that office legally over the usurper in there now.

By: Loner on 11/10/11 at 12:04

Yogi, are you saying that I am not a "true American"?

Well, Buddy I spent two years in Uncle Sam's army - regular army - during wartime...honorable discharge....I honorably served my community as a Regular Rural Letter Carrier with the USPS for 20 years.

I have a clean criminal record.

I stay abreast of politics and foreign affairs...I vote in every election and I have paid many thousands of dollars in taxation over the years. When I see injustice, I protest it....when I see a foreign theocracy usurping American power, I stand up and complain about it.

How dare you call me anything less than a true American?

Enough of this madness...I'm going out and getting some fresh air....see ya!

Look, I'm the first person to bitch about the close relationship between college football and the NFL. I still believe in the concept of the student athlete AND if I had my way the NFL would be made to pay colleges for their football programs. But, the reality is that with a lot of colleges (and especially the big ones), the entire athletic program is funded from the proceeds of the football program.... so if you do away with football, there goes everything else. One other point, Penn State is not unique when it comes to having problems within their program (albeit theirs is heinous).... anyone remember the recent problems with the Miami Hurricanes as well as USC, Ohio State, Florida State, Oregon, Auburn and Michigan? I'm not making excuses here.... I'm just sayin'.

Loner - Thanks for your service to your Country and yogi wouldn't know a true American thru his unpatriotic dumb eyes. He is the most unpatriotic poster I have ever seen on this board.

Ahhh... take the stick out of your arse bfra... I was just trying to lighten it up a bit.

Back atcha Ben! Just another example of following yogi's MO.

For the life of me, I cannot make sense of this "yogi's ursurper" talk.
I really don't care IF Obama was born in Kenya.
He's level headed, smart as a whip, and charasmatic, too.
On the world's stage, he's the best looking and smartest, too.
GW Bush and Rick Perry are identical twins from the Lone Star State.
Both are morons.
"He, he, he"...gigggle, giggle, giggle....as if being President is a frat house party or publicity stunt.

By: yogiman on 11/10/11 at 1:26

Saying you really don't care IF Obama was born in Kenya....,tells me you truly aren't a true American. That's saying to hell with the Constitution, it doesn't matter any more, we'll take anybody that wants the job regardless of where they're from.

That tells me you are a usurper lover.

By: dargent7 on 11/10/11 at 1:38

yogi: You got me there. I was born in Detroit...so UN-American.
What's next? Henry Ford was a Communist?
Go after Willard "Mitt" Romney.
His daddy was born in Mexico.
How are you going to finagle and dodge that one, vis-a-vie, Obama's daddy?

By: yogiman on 11/10/11 at 1:48

Thank you for your time served, Loner. Under today's state of economy that might be a good job offer for a lot of young people. As you can recall the training they would get and the education on jobs they would get would make this a much better nation.

Maybe we could then get more people in congress that was interested in the nation instead of themselves.

Not trying to beat you, Loner, .... but, I served seven years in the Navy. Most of it was during a war episode called the Korean conflict. I flew all over Korea during the time my ship was anchored in Japan. And yes, I received an honorable discharge plus a couple of over little 'medals'.

After my discharge I have worked for the government putting 38 years of service in before retirement.

Please read my posts before you make a false accusation, Loner. Reread where I mentioned true Americans. If you take that is an insult, so be it; because I can't see how any true American could welcome an obvious usurper into the Oval Office. After all, Loner, if you was still in service he would be your CIC. I sure as hell wouldn't want him as mine.

And the fact he has spent millions keeping his 'what should be public' data under lock and key and you welcome him as your president does make us different kinds of Americans.

And I must say, we haven't been in an official war since WWII. As was Korea, all our latest conflicts have been just that, conflicts.

By: dargent7 on 11/10/11 at 2:18

Yogi: Let me break it down for you.
No other president, from George Washington to Barack Obama, has had his birth cert. demanded to be furnished, verified, forensically, and CIA vetted.
Obama doesn't want to be the 1st, a precedent.
Now, morons want his college transcripts.
So, he attended Harvard as a professor and you people want to know what his GPA was at Columbia? Half of you cannot read above a 4th grade level.
You couldn't even find Columbia with a GPS or On Star with that sexy woman giving you directions.

Operation: Iraqi Freedom...."Shock & Awe", 150,000 ground troops, were certainly "wars" by any definition.
Instead of your meds, try snorting some freon from your car's coolant system.

By: dargent7 on 11/10/11 at 2:28

Operation: Desert Fox...Operation: Enduring Freedom...Operation: Desert Storm...Operation: Iraqi Freedom...
Naw, this invasion, bombing, and occupation in Iraq wasn't really a war.
It was for exercise.
You want another D-Day and Normandy to shake the cobwebs out of that skull of yours?

Just a small point Dargent7, freon is in the cars air conditioning system, not the coolant system. If you have freon in the coolant system you have more problems that just being a liberal. No, No don't thank me this is free diagnostic advice.

By: yogiman on 11/10/11 at 4:36

It would be great if you could understand what you think you know, dargent7. It would be better if you could read a few of the laws regarding the requirement of becoming President... of this nation by the way, not a business down the road.

I don't believe they had a CIA office back in the founding days. I doubt if it was even in the dictionary. And to compare the past presidents to Barack Obama says you flunked history. No president before Barry Soetoro has refused to prove their legal eligibility. So for the idea of being first, he is not only the first black man in the office, he is the first who refused to identify himself.

Obama says he did this and he did that. Why is he not willing to show his papers on those matters. Would you refuse to prove beyond a doubt of who you are if questioned? I

If I only have a 4th grade education I have to consider you as being before your enrollment into the kindergarten.

You question Romney's eligibility: His parents lived in Mexico when he was born. They were American citizens; both of them. They moved back to the USA before Mitt was born. He was and American born in the USA to parents whom were both US citizens.

According to the records available to the public, let me point out a few things actually known about the man known as Barack Obama. According to his "autobiography" when his mother divorced his father, he was adopted by his Indonesian stepfather. By law back then, Indonesia would not allow children who weren't Indonesian citizens to go to Indonesain schools. His stepfather's name was Lolo Soetoro. Mr. Soetoro volunteered to adopt Barak so he could go to school. He was then given the name Barry Soetoro. By law, when he was adopted, his American birth certificate was abolished.

Now, in case you don't understand it, when you lose your American citizenship by choice, or adoption in Barack's case , even a natural born or native born cannot get their born status back if they return to American citizenship. They can only become a naturalized citizen.

Now, after his mother's divorce from his stepfather, he decided he wanted to become an American again, when did he do it? It ain't automatic, dargent7. If he did, when did he do it and did he take his original name back?

Only he knows, dargent7. And I repeat: Why is he keeping himself unknown to the public? I can only think it's because he knows he isn't in that office legally.

And then you say you don't care and call yourself a true American.

That alone, dargent7, would deny Barack Obama from holding that office. And if he is the "scholar" he claims to be, he knew he was ineligible to hold for that office. And he still knows it.

Now, my question is:

By: pswindle on 11/10/11 at 8:36

Give it up. Your facts are wrong, and I'm tired of reading your crap everytime you post. You need to read the right book with the right facts. His step-father never adopted him, and if he did he would still be a citiizen of the US. His Mother was an American Citizen. You hate him so badly that you have to harp on the same ole lies that you chose to believe. I had a grandfather like you, and he thought he knew everything, and the truth is he did not know a damn thing.
