Up for Debate: Haslam 2016?

Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 1:26am

First: Would Gov. Bill Haslam make a good president? Second: Why or why not? Third: What have you learned from his time as governor to prove your argument?

I haven't used ba[c][r]king soda or vinegar in my beans, BenDover. I use baking soda and vinegar to open the drains from my sinks.

I'll stay with the castor oil in my beans.

Should Chavez be derided for his destruction of Venezuela and the vast suffering of his people, particularly the poor; or should he be lauded for his grand plans and his good intentions?

By: yogiman on 3/6/13 at 2:16

Hopefully the people will wake up, BenDover. Maybe the Obama loving Americans will wake up.

Obama is not in his "process" of taking our guns and many of his 'fans' on this site are backing him. One of the shows I just saw is a great reminder. It explains why China is trying to take over the USA by lending us money. They don't want a war because the citizens are armed to the teeth.

For those of you who weren't around when WWII began, I'll remind you why Japan did not attack the USA. Because the common citizens were too damn well armed for Japan to attack. The didn't believe they could ever get ashore.

So what makes anyone think Obama wants to take our guns away from us.

I highly recommend you all to watch this show. It's about 25 minutes long but the man in the interview knows what he's saying.

Question: Why is Obama asking officers if they will kill American citizens? Why is the government buying millions of hollow point bullets and weapons to use them on?

Another good show to "introduce" you to Obama a little bit better.

Good afternoon, Nashville...and MamaG, it's good to see you posting again.

It's tough for any nation to succeed when its leader is being black-balled....Chavez is a good case in point. The poor in Venezuela were suffering long before Chavez was born and they will remain suffering, after his death. Blame the Catholic church's ban on birth control...not Hugo Chavez.

As I said before, he was not a small "d" democrat, he was an autocrat...along the lines of the Castro brothers....this sort of personality cult leader and dynastic socialism tend to really suck...as we can see in North Korea.

Today's topic was about Haslam and the 2016 election...I'd rather see Phil Bredesen running...any amens on that?

By: BenDover on 3/6/13 at 3:02

I would love to see Bredesen run for President.

By: dargent7 on 3/6/13 at 3:07

Couple of quick points... Chavez dying of pelvic cancer, Castro's best friend. Sent over $20. billion a year to Cuba a year. So, what? Who's on our payroll?
Fidel is still hanging on....at 80 something.
Dennis Rodman is watching basketball with Kim Jong um...Il's son.
That's Rodman, as in Dennis, for Christ's sake.
If Jimmy Carter can become President, much less GW Bush, Haslam has a shot.
And the CIA poisoned Bwagwan Rajneesh 20 years ago up over in Antelope, Oregon.
Seems his 2,000 followers scared the US Gov't.
As did David Koresch's Branch Davidians. We firebombed his estate with tanks.
The USA has a penchant and method to kill that it deems an enemy and is fearful of.
Read: Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan.

I agree Loner.. Bredesen is a bright & capable guy, but unlikely to seek office again. Obama should have accepted his counsel in the healthcare debate. Phil could have helped set up a more workable healthcare reform package.

Lol Ben @ 11:38 post.

By: Captain Nemo on 3/6/13 at 3:14

Ben I asked Bredesen if he was going to run for President or Senate or just enjoy life. His Answer was enjoy life.

By: Captain Nemo on 3/6/13 at 3:15

Hello MamaG, there is no debate with yogi. He has none.

By: Loner on 3/6/13 at 3:26

Well, we have some common ground on Phil Bredesen...a competent but reluctant politician is usually a better lawmaker than the overly ambitious type, IMO.

I think that Phil Bredesen is less polarizing than Hillary or any other Democrat out there....he might even win in the South.

But 2016 is a long way off...can we find a more agreeable topic to discuss?

By: Loner on 3/6/13 at 3:53

Dragged over from the main article on Haslam 2016....my parting shot on the topic:

By: Loner on 3/6/13 at 3:51

When asked about a possible run for the presidency, in an act of apparent humility, Gov. Haslam said, "There’s about 20 people who would be better at it...", but he retains the prerequisite arrogance of a politician by qualifying that with, "... no, more than that."

You gotta admire the man when he takes a stand....he is a master equivocator.

By: yogiman on 3/6/13 at 3:55

Yeah, Loner, I've got a good topic to discuss.

Why is the Dept of Homeland Security buying 2717 light tanks, millions of hollow point bullets and is running drones over our nation? That should be a good question to start.

You should understand those tanks are retrofitted Mine Resistant Protected vehicles. They were bought for the DHS through the U.S. Army Forces Command. W

What in the hell are they going to do with them? Or should we even need to know?

By: Loner on 3/6/13 at 4:03

They are coning to take you away, Yogi. Whatcha gonna do when they come for you? Your hate speech has been recorded....you will be waterboarded....once you confess, you will be disposed of.....better run for it now....grab your Bible and your gun and your grab-n-go bag.....head for the white supremacist camp nearest you...your Christian radio will guide you to the compound.....good luck.

By: bfra on 3/6/13 at 4:07

Run yogi, run! NIP, NIP, NIP they are on your heels. Run yogi, run!

By: Loner on 3/6/13 at 4:12

"Securing" a nation awash with 300 million firearms requires a force of exactly 2,717 light tanks, each carrying ten commandos...27,170 SWAT operatives are needed to provide the level of security that we have grown accustomed to.

But this is nothing compared to the elaborate security apparatus needed to keep the Jewish State in Palestine from exploding into a fireball of religious and race-based hate....we learned from the Israelis...Joe Lieberman trotted out the Patriot Act even as the twin towers still burned....the legislation was canned and has that Produce of Israel look and feel to it.....but we will be secure...those SWAT guys are the good guys....right?

By: Loner on 3/6/13 at 4:20

Happy 4:20 Nashville!

It's Trooper...."We're here for a good time, not a long time"....I love this tune.

By: yogiman on 3/6/13 at 4:24

Well, I'm afraid I'm too damn old and have lost my power of strength and flexibility to run, so I'm just gonna sit here on my a$$ and wait until they come and tell me y'all sent them here to "collect" me. The the battle begins.

I see you 'guys' (excuse me girls) in two possible ways. You're either too damn stupid to see and understand what's going on in this nation... or you're in the program with Barry.

Which line are you on, Loner? How about you, bfra? It looks like all of you "slick sixers" are in the program together.

By: Captain Nemo on 3/6/13 at 4:35

Sitting on your ass or face, it is all the same with you, yogi.

By: yogiman on 3/6/13 at 4:37

I'm not a hate "speecher", Loner. I'm a simple "I want to know" guy. And I prefer the truth. If you've come up with the answer to my question I'd sure appreciate it if you know how to explain it to me.

I understand why you haven't before... because you simply don't know.

Loner, I'd recommend you watch those two shows I posted at 2:16. Maybe you will learn a little something.

By: yogiman on 3/6/13 at 4:53

Another question, Loner.

Why did Obama call Kenya his home?

And why did his paternal grandmother give an affirmed affidavit she was in the room with his mother when he was born?

It still boils down to the point if he is even an American citizen. It's obvious he isn't a natural born citizen with a British subject his father.

By: Loner on 3/6/13 at 4:54

Yogi....you have outed me. Yes, I am a paid staffer...on the payroll of Covert American Communist Agitators...CACA...my mission is to spread the ideology of CACA on websites such as this one in Tennessee. You don't think that I'd post here everyday for free, do you? This is my job, man.

The old boy never had a brain, but his jaw flaps in the breeze.

By: yogiman on 3/6/13 at 5:50

Well hang in there, Loner. I'll give you enough competition to keep you on your job a long time. Hell, you might even be able to retire again.

By: Captain Nemo on 3/6/13 at 6:09

It makes you feel proud to be an idiot, yogi?

By: yogiman on 3/6/13 at 6:24

Yep, as long as I'm not equal to you, dumba$$.

By: Rasputin72 on 3/6/13 at 8:55

Nemo, whatever Yogi is, he is not an uneducated undetclassman like you.

By: yogiman on 3/6/13 at 9:29

Thanks for such a comment, Rasputin72. Dumba$$ is exposing his ignorance on a daily basis.

I'm a simple law abiding citizen that loves this country hoping I hope I will leave it to my heirs as I received it from my ancestors.

It's been hard to understand why so many people have accepted someone as their president who refuses to identify himself. It's really astonishing since they don't even know if he's an American citizen or a foreigner.
