Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 12:54am

What do you think of Gov. Bill Haslam's recent appointments of a COO and Parole Board chair? Are they smart moves that are better for the state or Haslam?

The State's governor is elected by the majority of the people to govern. It's human nature for anyone with the power to appoint someone to help them in governing the state will not appoint someone who is going to oppose them in their authority.

It looks like the author (Lind) opposes Gov. Haslam.

As usual: NOTHING of interest here yet!

By: yogiman on 7/2/13 at 5:59

Then why are you reading here?

A site you might not like to view, bfra.

Is that birth certificate a fake? Do you think Barry should allow his footprint to be compared? Footprints are like hand prints or fingerprints, they are absolute evidence of identity.

Why is Barry so secretive about his identity? A bigger question is why doesn't congress care about his identity?

Very good read for birther idiots:

I’m not sure of the appointment, but Haslam credibility is in question and this brings questions about those he select.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/2/13 at 7:19

Comrade, yogi is not interested in facts, bfra. He only wants to create a climate of confusion.

A team must have a good defense as well as a good offense to win a game. One without the other will make them losers.

The twit from a cave in Smith says the obvious and thinks he has made a brilliant observation.

The State's governor is elected by the majority of the people to govern. It's (sic) human nature for anyone with the power to appoint someone to help them in governing the state will not appoint someone who is going to oppose them in their authority.

To continue his march in fakery, yogi repeats his falsehood another day.

By: yogiman on 7/2/13 at 7:39

I like most or your "birther idiots" post, bfra.

My favorite one says: "Obama and God have only one thing in common: No birth certificate! The differences God doesn't think He's Obama!"

Which one is your favorite?

By: bfra on 7/2/13 at 7:40

Nemo - I did not vote for Haslem & have wondered why anyone would. He has not surprised me in any of his decisions but, I do wonder how long it will be before he is stopped.

By: yogiman on 7/2/13 at 7:42

I wish you'd go back to school and learn how to write a sentence, dumba$$. I hate to have to take the time to figure out what you're trying to 'say' when you obviously have no idea how to 'say' it.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/2/13 at 7:45

yogi, ask him to italianize it for you. Maybe that will help.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/2/13 at 7:48

Comrade, yogi is so confused, that he is calling bfra a Birther. The old fool is so perplexed that he does not know who he is.

yogi's lack of understanding how words are placed in a sentence is what gives it meaning.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/2/13 at 7:54

Itallianize must be one of yogi’s sex toys.

By: bfra on 7/2/13 at 8:02

That old decrepit blob of a human that desecrates the name yogi still doesn't know which one is the hole in the ground.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/2/13 at 8:03

bfra, Haslam was the best of both parties. This says a lot for the quality of political stock in Tennessee.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/2/13 at 8:06

It is about time for yogi to hit us with his lame come back of, “I wish I was as smart as your think your are dumba$$.”

By: yogiman on 7/2/13 at 8:24

Don't need to, dumba$$. I already know I'm much smarter. How? Well, I know Barack Hussein Obama is not a natural born American citizen. If I'm to believe him as you do, I would believe he was born in Kenya like he said.

Just one stupid question for that feeble brain , dumba$$: How did Barack Obama become a natural born American citizen (as required by our Constitution) after he became an Indonesian citizen?

The fact of the matter is; is he even an American citizen today?

By: Captain Nemo on 7/2/13 at 8:37

Poor yogi he forgets just how stupid he is. Remember saying this?

By: yogiman on 1/26/13 at 3:13
dumba$$, you couldn't even pass a spelling test, let alone a test of intelligence.
Want to try one? Check on google or bing and take a test.

By: Captain Nemo on 1/26/13 at 3:33
I took the test yogi and a made a 100.

By: yogiman on 1/26/13 at 7:30
I feel so humiliated, dumba$$, to get beat by an idiot as ignorant as you.

By: Captain Nemo on 1/26/13 at 9:53
That makes you the dumbest dumb ass

By: Captain Nemo on 7/2/13 at 8:38

Here is one of my favorites.

How is my mustache rimmed?

By: Kosh III on 7/2/13 at 9:02

I don't know about the Paroles guy but why does Haslam need someone to do his job for him?

Based on his past appointments, these will be problematic.
The Commissioner of DCS left because of a scandal, several at Labor and Workforce have quit under dubious circumstances, the Education Commissioner has done his best to ruin teachers, and the list goes on......

Not to mention the millions in welfare to Hemlock, Eastman, the company Haslam has investments in a company that now has a huge contract with the state, he gave a contract to Firestone while the former head of Firestone gets a top level state job, state employees who actually DO the work are laid off, cut back, over-worked and underpaid.

Then he gave 40% raises to the Commissioners two months after they hired them while giving employees 1.6%.

Welcome to the FSA; Fascist States of America

By: bfra on 7/2/13 at 9:06

Kosh III - Very good account of our very inept Gov.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/2/13 at 9:40

Nice post, Kosh.

By: yogiman on 7/2/13 at 11:41

There's two sides to every fence, Kosh III. It just depends on which side is in office as the way things are handled.

Tell me, if you was in office wouldn't you favor someone who backed you instead of an opponent?

By: pswindle on 7/2/13 at 12:29

Haslam is faming out all of the work and problems to others. How much money is he paying these people? Is this the reason that he is laying off state workers in order to pay for the people to do his work? I don't remember a democrat or any other governors that had so many people doing their work. If he is asked a question, he acts as if he never heard of such, or he knows nothing about it.

By: Kosh III on 7/2/13 at 12:43

"Tell me, if you was in office wouldn't you favor someone who backed you instead of an opponent?"

Not if they were competent put the welfare of the citizens first and wouldn't be partisan.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/2/13 at 1:16

Kosh, some people are too simple-minded and partisan to comprehend your post.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/2/13 at 1:39

Ben, are you out there?

GAO: Big Companies Paid A 12.6% Effective Federal Income Tax Rate

http://www.forbes.com/sites/janetnovack/2013/07/01/gao-big-companies-paid-a-12-6-federal-income-tax-rate/

Despite all their griping about the U.S.’s highest-in-the-developed-world 35% federal corporate income tax rate, big profitable U.S. companies paid just 12.6% of their reported worldwide profits in federal income taxes in 2010, a study released today by Congress’ Government Accountability Office shows.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/2/13 at 1:40

What makes the GAO’s report particularly interesting is that its analysts had access to aggregate data drawn from public companies’ Schedule M-3s—a not-public, but detailed form they must file with the Internal Revenue Service reconciling the differences between the income and expenses they report to shareholders using generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and those they report for tax purposes to the IRS. This allowed the GAO to calculate what companies actually paid in a given year.

How about that Paula Dean?
Woman uses the "N" word ONCE (yeah, right), 30 years ago and loses all her sponsors...Walmart, Food Channel, a drug co., ....
She wanted a cook-out w/ only black waiters to recognize the Southern plantation lifestyle...and they castigate and castrate her for that?
I worked ALL the high profile golf courses..Belle meade in particular.
All the waitstaff are BLACK. Because I was born in Detroit, they gave me a pass.
Since I'm almost half black.

By: yogiman on 7/2/13 at 8:26

Does "almost" mean you're 4.99% black, dargent7? I guess that means you're almost equal to Barack Obama, eh?

Who makes the better drink; you or Barry?

By: budlight on 7/2/13 at 9:56

Wow! I just got back from vacation in North and South Carolina. Loved both them thar' southern states. Didn't miss TN for one ioata! And TN didn't miss me.

Glad to see all ya'll are still duking it out. Myrtle Beach! Wow! Found a house 3 blocks from the beach for only $275,000. wish my house was sold. I'd move in a flash.

D7, Paula Dean will survive.
