Up for Debate: Obama, Clinton team up against Romney

Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 12:16am

After praising Mitt Romney's business career last week, former President Bill Clinton appeared at fundraisers for President Obama Monday night. Clinton and Obama's political relationship has at times seemed a powerful force and at times — given the presidential campaign battle between Hillary Clinton and Obama — been strained. How important is the former president's campaign presence for Obama in facing Romney? And how likely is the former president to do more damage than good for Obama?

With Clinton on your team, it's all good.
Obama will need every extra bit of help he can get.
America needs to keep "Magic Underware" and his whole undergarmet wearing family OUT of the W.H.

While Romney may be for sure the best qualified candidate for President he has only a slightly better chance than Donald Duck of beating the people who vote for "free stuff"

With the largest ego in the entire country, it's no surprise that our former
President wishes to remain both the official and unofficial most beloved
member of his party! This reason and his deep desire for Hillary to be
able to run in 2016 are the motivations for this building of favors across
the country. No one pointed out how "unqualified" Barack Obama was for
the office in the last primary any better than Bill Clinton did!
He was the main star in all 3 of yesterday's Obama fundraisers in NY. Following
6 fund raising events on Friday. The oval office has to have been empty on
more days in the last 3 1/2 yrs. than any period in modern history!

Obama's not a slam dunk. The jobs report was bad. Though, a poll of CEO's puts the largest blame on Europe, the sheep here think the President is to blame for everything, regardless of side.

How is Romney better qualified than someone who has actually been President for 3 years? Poor argument. Even poorer when you whine about the entitlement seekers, who aren't limited to net worth.

By: gdiafante on 6/5/12 at 6:31

Right...because that's the only place a President conducts business...lol

By: dargent7 on 6/5/12 at 6:58

As President, Obama spends 60% of his time on the road. You know...Economic Summits, Kyoto Treaties, Nuclear Arms races, negotiations with world leaders, etc.
If you guys want to "get him" on something, try sticking to the facts of what a President does.
One thing for sure. He doesn't clear brush and ride a bike at a ranch.

By: yogiman on 6/5/12 at 7:08

It's great to love a president as much as you claim, dargent7. It's a shame the man sitting our office today isn't in there legally.

By: dargent7 on 6/5/12 at 7:15

"yogi": Maybe you aren't here legally? Prove that you are.
Provide your place of birth, birth cert., birth announcement in the local paper, school transcripts....
What's that?
You don't feel the need to do so? You feel indignation?
Now you know that's how Obama feels.

By: slacker on 6/5/12 at 8:22

Just in from the Grassy Knoll Gazette: If Scott Walker wins against the recall vote today, Romney will win in Nov. if not.. its Obama part 2. Kinda like the groundhog, shadow seeing thang.
Bill & Hill have to show party loyalty, and trotting out the Bill helps raise money in some areas of the country. Hillary owes Obama for helping reduce her campaign debt, and her present occupation. Obama appointed her to keep his enemy close. No honor among thieves or politicians.

By: gdiafante on 6/5/12 at 8:32

Just got back from Wisconsin, slacker. It really could go either way...I'd say the state is just as divided as the nation.

Walker could win, which would galvanize labor in the rest of the country, or he could lose, which would galvanize anti-labor in the rest of the country.

It's still WAY too early to be predicting a fall election.

dargent7,

FYI: As shown on my birth certificate, I was born in Nashville, Tennessee. I was told it happened in my parents home in Una which, in 1930, was a small suburb of Antioch which was a community of farms, one of which was my paternal grandparents.

I have in my possession a piece of paper I was told was my birth certificate that was signed by the doctor that pulled me out of my mother's womb.

I have used that little piece of paper in many aspects of my life.

I'm sure your man, Obama, has also had to provide a birth certificate in aspects of his life. So why doesn't he simply show a copy of his original birth certificate to prove he is in that office legally?

Want to know why I believe he refuses to show his original birth certificate? It's simple: He doesn't have one that shows him to be qualified to be President of the USA.

Wouldn't it be so simple if he would just say: Look, here it is. Now lets get this crap over with?

Now.., I can prove me right simply by showing a certified copy of my original birth certificate, can you prove me wrong? Prove it isn't a official copy.

The certificate shown by Barack Hussein Obama's as as copy of his birth certificate can be proven to be a fake beginning at the top left corner.

Unless that certificate passed down to me is a fake, I'm a natural born citizen of the USA. You think I'm not? Prove it.

Obama feels? Not really. Clones and gobots do not feel. He jumped on the "kill the baby" bandwagon and has not gotten off. It's too bad his own mother didn't rely on abortion to fix her "problem". I mean, after all, she dumped him on her parents for raising. Guess he was too much baggage. So no, the Odrama man has no feelings. If his daughter gets pregnant, he considers that it will be a punishment for her. So he must have been a punishment for his mother and I know he's some type of punishment for the United States (and possibly the world). I do not like his political agenda, especially the baby killing branch!

By: slacker on 6/5/12 at 9:00

gdiafante, I'm honing my prediction skills for football season. My bookie lives in fear of my powers.
I've already predicted that Jerry Jones will be caught on camera, picking his nose at 3 Dallas home games.

By: yogiman on 6/5/12 at 9:03

Yawn again, gdiafarte, and let me know what you think of your president pushing for the LOST program getting through congress.

You know, a program that has been refused by all presidents from Reagan through G. W. Bush? But now, Obama want's to give the control of the seas and our shores to the UN in their One World Government plot.

By: budlight on 6/5/12 at 9:10

Yogi, why should the UN have control of the seas and our shores? That is insane. What is O'drama up to now?

Remember Yogi, the people on this site have no real interest in protecting our country, especialy if they are Odrama fans.

Have a nice day. It's a shame that guy got to kill his wife. I'm sad for her family. But as for him killing himself, at least we don't have to feed him for 30 or 40 years now. He should have just taken his life and not hers.

By: gdiafante on 6/5/12 at 9:12

Slacker, my prediction for basketball: Miami will lose in the finals, the nation rejoices at Lebron's failure, which unites the country as never before. Suddenly all the problems are dealt with swiftly, the economy improves, we become the most powerful nation once again and yogi poops in his diaper.

By: yogiman on 6/5/12 at 9:12

dargent7,

I have never known an American citizen get indignant when asked if they had a birth certificate they would be willing to show to prove their identity. Other than Barack Obama, and perhaps yourself, have you?

By: yogiman on 6/5/12 at 9:22

Hillary Clinton is in the process now of trying to get that LOST program through Congress, budlight. That is just one more step toward One World Government and Barry Soetoro is obviously in that party.

Did you hear about him refusing to allow a million M1 be returned to the US? They are weapons used in WWII and Korea. They left one million in South Korea and that government wants to send them back to the US to US gun collectors. But Barry says no.

And you can count on it: If Barry Soetoro usurps that office in November, one of his first programs will be to throw the 2nd Amendment out the door and gain gun control.

If that happens you can kiss the USA goodbye. I hope none of these Obama lovers own a gun because they'll be so disappointed with their "buddy".

By: slacker on 6/5/12 at 9:25

yogi, I get indignant when a grocery clerk asks to see my ID, to buy beer.
Maybe you could lead a protest at Kroger. It will give you something to do.
And don't forget to take your lithium.

By: gdiafante on 6/5/12 at 9:26

one of his first programs will be to throw the 2nd Amendment out the door and gain gun control.

Right, that's so 2008...get a new schtick.

By: yogiman on 6/5/12 at 9:48

Well, slacker, me boy, you can thank your guvmunt for the idiotic rules they have set for you to follow just to get a 6 pack of booze and you feel you look mature in age to buy it even though you aren't in mentality.

By: gdiafante on 6/5/12 at 9:55

Yeah, damn the government for not letting children buy Jack Daniels. What the hell is this country coming to...

By: yogiman on 6/5/12 at 9:56

gdiafarte,

Tell me, you had to produce your birth certificate when you joined the Marines a few years ago. And you knew all Marines in service with you had to provide one all the way up through the officer's ranks when they entered the service. But you don't think someone "volunteering" to become your CIC should have to show his.

What did they teach you in boot camp; every member of this service has to prove their identity and eligibility by a birth certificate except your CIC?

You must have been in a different crew of Marines than the ones I served with in the Navy.

By: yogiman on 6/5/12 at 10:03

gdiafarte,

It isn't what the hell this country is "coming to", it's where in the hell is this country going?

We already know where it's come to by it's current location.

By: gdiafante on 6/5/12 at 10:07

Yogi, learn about contractions. "it's" means "it is". Here is your statement without contractions:

We already know where it is come to by it is current location

Learn...apply...

It doesn't surprise me that you were in the Navy, yogi. I imagine it was the Village People's version too...lol

By: yogiman on 6/5/12 at 10:26

Sorry, gdiafarte, I haven't had but one cup of coffee this morning. I'll go brew another batch in my coffee pot in its current location.

By: gdiafante on 6/5/12 at 10:29

And, for the record, we didn't learn about birth certificates in boot camp. We were trained for battle. Not sure what's up with the Navy...you'd think they'd at least teach you how to swim or swab the deck or iron your bellbottoms or get spots out of your Popeye suit...

By: yogiman on 6/5/12 at 10:32

gdiafarte,

I'll readily admit, you made a quick comeback on my errors in my 10:03 post. But you don't seem to know the answers to my moot questions in my 9:56 post. Don't you know them?

By: yogiman on 6/5/12 at 10:39

Sorry, gdiafarte,

I've always thought the average person was reasonably inquisitive, but apparently you aren't. I always wondered why I would be asked questions that prevailed over the entire service when certain others weren't.

I guess they didn't need to qualify to enter the service and would be allowed anyway.

By: gdiafante on 6/5/12 at 10:39

Those aren't questions, they're the ramblings of a nut. Squirrels like nuts. I don't.

By: yogiman on 6/5/12 at 10:58

I understand, gdiafarte. You don't like inquisitive nuts but you have a high admiration for another nut. Like the one in the Oval Office.

And to refresh your training gender after your discharge, the Marine Corp. is just a suburb of the Navy.

By: yogiman on 6/5/12 at 11:33

Not to change the subject, folks, but what do you all think of the abortion by choice program that is being "talked" about?

It's about parents who want a boy to be their new baby and are told it will be a girl, so they have the option, abort or not.

Doesn't that equate the US to China and make us inferior to other nations?

By: Moonglow1 on 6/5/12 at 11:41

Moonglow1: Yogi did it ever occur to you that you might have dementia or Alzheimer's. You must be around 80. Your sole focus on our President is obsessive which is a sign of these conditions.
As for Bill Clinton, slacker has it right (his 8:22 post)!

By: pswindle on 6/5/12 at 11:45

There has been no one vetted as closely as our President. He has had the FBI, CIA and other agencies going over every phrase of his life and if they did not stand in his way to run for president , there is nothing wrong with his birth or anything else.

By: dargent7 on 6/5/12 at 11:51

It's really quite simple. No other sitting President had to show his "papers".
ie., Birth Cert., college transcripts. Where'd LBJ go to college? Where'd Nixon go to college? I have no idea.
Gerald Ford went to Michigan and played center. Clinton was a Rhode Scholar.
What became relevant about 15 years ago, with Bush 43 was, "Did you smoke pot"? "Did you snort coke".
The press didn't care where they were born or their GPA and SAT's.
Once a Negro got the office, all of a sudden it's, "Where were you born?" "Your Birth Cert. looks fake", "What's your SAT score in Math?"
Racism? Naw.

Yes, the Marine Corps is under the Department of the Navy...nothing is perfect.

By: yogiman on 6/5/12 at 12:48

Moonglow1,

You apparently didn't read where I noted I was born in 1930. According my grade school math lessons I believe I'm 81 years old now scarring the hell out of 82. And my mind now appears to be working much better than yours in your younger age since you accept someone as your president whom you know nothing about... and whom refuses to identify himself.

Dumb question to you: Can you explain why you shouldn't have to show your birth certificate to become the president of the USA but you are required to to start in the first grade in school, even kindergarten if you enroll there? You must also show your birth certificate to take a driver's test to get your license to drive. There is many things in life you must show your birth certificate... except to become President of this nation.

Give Soetoro/Obama credit, he has woke many American up. I'm sorry you posters here are still asleep.

By: slacker on 6/5/12 at 12:52

yogi.. your next dose of lithium is due at 1pm.
-Dr. I.M. Nutts

By: yogiman on 6/5/12 at 12:56

pswindle,

May I offer a previous argument again? If, in fact, Barack Obama was born as a natural born citizen, when he was adopted by his Indonesian stepfather, he lost his American citizenship. And by law, once you lose your natural born citizenship, you simply cannot get it back.

If Barry Soetoro (his adopted name) repatriated his American citizenship, he could only do it by going through the naturalization act.

Consequently, he did not have the natural born citizenship status to qualify for the President's office.

You can say; it's OK, we accept him anyway, but you can't; legally.

By: gdiafante on 6/5/12 at 12:58

Wrong again, Yogi. He showed exactly that which is required by law. He's the President. It's been three years...we're still waiting for your proof...

And darge is right...

It's amazing that we're still talking about this. It just goes to show you how a few idiots can hijack the whole damn discussion.

Yes, and once again, O'drama's mamma would probably have wanted a girl. Also what about that 10 million dollars that was going to be used for the Pakistan Sesame Street Project? LOL Talk about blowing tax money. Sounds like Karl Dean and Obama went to the same school of financial planning and management. Pakistani Sesame Street funded with 10 million dollars of US taxpayer money.

I bet you agree it's OK to do that, don' you pswindle and D7? Wonder what other types of puppet programs we fund?

By: gdiafante on 6/5/12 at 1:06

I will presume that you are referring to Phillip Berg's lawsuit (which was dismissed) that alleged Obama lost his citizenship.
