Up for Debate: Obama warns Syrian president

Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 1:14am

President Barack Obama issued a warning to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad against allowing the use of chemical weapons against rebel forces, threatening U.S. action. What do you think about not only the warning but also the prospect of Syria using chemical weapons?

This particular President has to be reminded that the gtearOil Marine song "From the Halls of Montezuma to the Shores of Tripoli" was not written as a protest song.

It was written as a call to action for our military. Obama therefore is rattling sabres that are really not intended to be anything else.

My guess is that he will still be rattling sabres and talking tough right up to the time that Israel and the entire middle east explodes into a nice human population reduction program.

Should this happen it will put great financial pressure on the productive class who have chosen to escape the crime, the high taxes and the vermin who crowd the public schools of Davidson county. Gasoline should teach the 10.00 per gallon mark.

It should be one thrill after another,so to speak.

By: gdiafante on 12/4/12 at 6:12

It's the Marine Corps Hymn and what the hell is "gtearOil"?

You've been exposed, so to speak, Raspy. You have no credibility. Stick to things you know, like fraud.

Good morning, Nashville.

What do you think about not only the (President's) warning but also the prospect of Syria using chemical weapons?

I think that the US has enough Holy War on its plate for the time being....if NATO wants to go in and take out the Assad regime's chemical weapons facilities, that's one thing; but a unilateral US strike on Syria's chemical WMD capability is not a good idea, IMO.

The US and Israel have never given a rat's @ss about the Syrian people before this civil war erupted; our sudden humanitarian interests in Syria are very suspicious.

The real reasons for our concerns about Syrian chemical weapons is the security of the Jewish State in Palestine...we certainly don't want any Jews to be gassed by chemical weapons....when the Kurds got gassed, the US did nothing....if Syrians get gassed, we will howl and protest; but, unless an Israeli or two ges gassed, we will probably just make humanitarian noises from the sidelines....Americans are very selective with their compassion and sympathy....we have extremely little sympathy for Muslims and Arabs these days.

It seems George Bush was a no-no for going to war but it seems it will be okay for Barry to put us in war. Is he such an exception in that office; it's okay for him to put us in war but not for Bush?

And he isn't even talking about Syria attacking the US? Oh, I forgot, it's the "other" party.

It's odd to me; you can figure me out and you can figure Rasputin72 out... but you can't seem to figure Barry Soetoro aka Barack Obama out. How has he got you so 'bumfasled' you don't even know his legal name, let alone his presidential illegality?

By: yogiman on 12/4/12 at 6:37

Sorry, I forgot to add your name to my list, bfra.

Pres. Obama has no remorse in killing his enemies. Why should he preach to other nations. Hypocrite?
Weapond of mass destruction? The UN did not mind when Sadam Hussein used chemicles on his own people. The UN are hypocrite's too!

By: bfra on 12/4/12 at 6:39

Is that a new kind of pond?

By: parnell3rd on 12/4/12 at 6:39

Keep um mad yogi and rasp!!!!!

By: parnell3rd on 12/4/12 at 6:41

Yea, the demoNcrat libtards forget, the only NO vote for war was Sen. Ron Paul. All other's dem and repub voted for war.

By: parnell3rd on 12/4/12 at 6:41

coffee and work time! yall have a great day!

By: Loner on 12/4/12 at 6:42

Here's a good topic for speculation: How long will it be before Assad's forces are defeated and what will be Assad's final fate?

My guess is that Assad will hang in there until Spring or early Summer...in the end, he'll try to run, like Colonel Kadaffy did, but the mob will find him and he'll get mob justice right on the spot...Mussolini style.....can't say that I have any sympathy for the murderous, sadistic Assad regime....the brutal tyrant will get what's coming to him.

The post-Assad situation in Syria will be similar to that in Egypt...a bunch of Islamic hot-heads running the government....the Syrian people will get no relief from their sufferings once Assad is gone....more institutional misery is coming their way once the civil war is over.

Secular oppressive governance will be supplanted by oppressive Islamic governance....this is the general pattern in the increasingly radicalized region...this is the run-up to Armageddon....stay tuned.

Parnell: Work hard, pay your taxes, don't bitch..I need folks like you, so that my pension check(s) keep coming in....yee haw...pull that plow! Life is good.

By: Rasputin72 on 12/4/12 at 6:55

Gdiafante..........gtearoil should be familar to you? This was what was used the first time you became a punk.

The only fraud in my camp is what is in your wishful mind.

By: gdiafante on 12/4/12 at 6:58

I suppose it's futile to ask yogi if he looked up that law...

As for parnell...sour grapes go down better with water.

By: Loner on 12/4/12 at 7:14

Rasp knows lube....and Grey Poupon....and he knows "vermin" when he sees it....that's all he needs to know....he operates in the rarefied atmosphere of the 1%ers.

By: gdiafante on 12/4/12 at 7:16

Yeah, the 1% of the population that is delusional. I'm fairly certain that they have meds that can help Raspy deal with reality.

By: Loner on 12/4/12 at 7:27

Is the Rasp delusional...or is he what he claims to be: A wealthy tycoon.

Rasp, you can settle this thing quickly...just contact the Nashville City Paper...they know who we are and how to contact us...tell them that you wish to give all of us "regulars" a thousand dollars for Christmas...that's chicken feed for a man of your wealth and stature....I guarantee, if you did that, nobody would doubt that you have plenty of disposable wealth...silence your critics, Rasputin72....break out with some earnest money....and thank you, in advance, for the grand.

By: Loner on 12/4/12 at 7:28

Let the Big Dog Give!

By: Rasputin72 on 12/4/12 at 7:29

Gdiafante.........You are a bright fellow who is angry over his own vocational choices and circumstances. You cannot escape REALITY by avoiding and attacking those who are probably brighter than you but whom have chosen a more successful path to the "good life.

You should follow the lead of the other bright liberal LONER who has made peace with his misuse of talent and leads a calmer and more serene existence.

Remember this, tomorrow morning when you awake, you will still have more notes than a Hammon Organ. This is the world you have created.

On a positive note, just be glad that you do not have the lack of qualities that were bestowed on the "Simple Six"

Just because you had a lapse of memory about gtearoil does not mean that life cannot be at least comfortable for you.

An attitude that people like you are a majority by a meager 1.3% is not a mandate as yet to attack those who have prospered more than you.

By: yogiman on 12/4/12 at 7:29

I have a question for you Obama admirers: What did he mean in his autobiography when he wrote; "If I have to chose, I will side with the Muslims"?

And yes, there are people who change their religious thoughts and beliefs. I suggest you listen a former Muslim at: www.patriotaction.net/video/video/show?id=2600775%3A6017374&xgs=1xg_source=msg_share_video/

By: Rasputin72 on 12/4/12 at 7:33

Gdiafante......There is not a charitable bone in my body. I give through the Federal Income Tax system. My donation to mankind every year through that government body has been a sizable boon to the welfare people.

I no longer make any donation of any amount to charity. The United States government has taken over that responsibility.

By: Loner on 12/4/12 at 7:34

Let's see...how will I spend my Rasp thousand? I could invest in a quarter-pound of top shelf Cannabis.....or put the money into the DJ-5 restoration project....something worthwhile like that....or maybe a trip to Music City?

Or.... I could just send the check to the IRA...to help offset the national debt...the patriotic thing to do....to help fund the holy wars etc.

By: yogiman on 12/4/12 at 7:36

Oh, another little thing y'all might not be interested in. Barry's Constitutional eligibility is being being challenged in Florida and a judge has agreed to hear it.

It is supposed to be heard before the January theft of office.

Yogi is capable of learning...he now shclepps source URLs in with his birther rants...it's still absolute BS, but now it's sourced BS....there is hope for the poor fellow....his surgery must have removed his joy juice gland...he's stuck in the hate mode...smoldering, like a burned-out bearing, in a bad machine.

By: gdiafante on 12/4/12 at 7:43

See...Yogi still can't bring himself to read the law. Pathetic. I even gave him the page to read it.

Raspy, this isn't about me. So far we only think you're a fool. With every post you prove it.

By: Rasputin72 on 12/4/12 at 7:45

Gdiafante.....Having read so many of your opinions that expose your philosophy and bias for the world that exists, I am not surprised about your opinion of me or for that matter the Star Spangled Banner.

Three trolls whine for attention which troll will get to be The Big Troll Sucking

By: Loner on 12/4/12 at 7:53

As an experiment, I cut-pasted the last three paragraphs of my 6:26 post on the Voice of America site....the same topic was covered there too....the VoA is a highly censored site...any anti-israeli stuff could get screened out there and it often is....so far, the post has not appeared...if the Voice of America has been hijacked by Israeli agents, we are in deep, deep doo-doo...it's worse than what Helen Thomas alleged.....she paid the price for saying it like it is.

Here's the VoA board:

The Nashville City Paper is the real voice of America...no oppressive "moderation" or excessive "filtering"...no waiting period for posts to appear...we have a beautiful thing here....thank you Nashville City Paper, for keeping the faith...the Voice of America has been stifled....the NCP is a bastion of free speech.

Junior is supposedly in West Palm Beach and can find nothing better to do than post here? LOL

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/4/12 at 7:55

Maybe he should call his imaginary former secretary to complain about someone whose identity he does not know.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/4/12 at 7:56

I don't see why the U.S. needs to be in the middle of a Syrian civil war.

Gdiafante......There is not a charitable bone in my body.

This is true. This lie conniving punk has always been a conman and by his very trade there can be no charitable from a scum bag, unless it is for gain. And with all of his years of deceit he is not rich in wealth or intelligent.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 12/4/12 at 8:00

Nemo, I bet Junior only tries to scam women. He's afraid that if he tries to con men he'll get the quick kick in the backside that he so deserves.

By: Captain Nemo on 12/4/12 at 8:05

I don’t see us getting into any ground fight with Syria anytime soon, but the unmanned drones will serve for now. This is a matter for the International Community and especially The Middle- East neighbors of Syria to deal with.

By: yogiman on 12/4/12 at 8:09

Give me that page again, gdiafante, and give me your interpretation of it. I'll re-read it. I just couldn't see where it overrode the Constitution.

Another little "show" you kids should look at: www.youtube.com/embed/HjFSi1AZTq8/

I'm sure you'll enjoy this one; that is if you're a fellow Muslim with Obama.

By: Captain Nemo on 12/4/12 at 8:09

Come to think of it, I never did see attempt to defraud any men. However for his love of money, I sure he would bed a man of a buck.

By: Loner on 12/4/12 at 8:11

Continuing with my free speech experiment, I just posted this on that same Voice of America board:

Rule Number One at what claims to be, "the voice of America":

1. We do not seek to limit your expression of ideas, but material that is libelous, defamatory, obscene, indecent, abusive, violent, pornographic, threatening, harassing, discriminatory or that constitutes hate speech or is illegal is not allowed and may be deleted at the discretion of the site management. (End quote)

I wonder how the Founders of this secular, pluralistic, constitutional and democratic republic would feel about these arbitrary ground rules.

The British crown considered the American Declaration of Independence to be libelous, defamatory, obscene, indecent, abusive, violent, pornographic, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, hate speech and thoroughly illegal.

The voice of America has been considerably stifled since then.

By: gdiafante on 12/4/12 at 8:18

Loner, you're honestly comparing the Declaration of Independence to a website's message board? Now that is funny.

Every site can regulate their message boards any way they see fit and it doesn't violate the first amendment.

And regarding the Founders, ever hear of the Alien and Sedition Acts?

By: Loner on 12/4/12 at 8:19

So far, the VoA board is empty...no comments...but I submitted 2 this morning....this could take time...the censors could be on their Starbucks & Bagels break....the thought police over at the Voice of America could be attending a morning staff briefing....probably adding the Lone One to their standing roster of suspects and malcontents.

By: Captain Nemo on 12/4/12 at 8:19

Well that was a waste of my time. I have seen similar beliefs from all religions, so this is nothing new. Keep trying yogi; I’m sure you have nothing in your life that excites you other than stirring up hate.

By: Loner on 12/4/12 at 8:20

I guess that my point was lost on Gd.

By: Captain Nemo on 12/4/12 at 8:24

I could not get that web site Loner, for some reason.

By: gdiafante on 12/4/12 at 8:26

You're point isn't lost on me, I just dismiss it. You seem to be on a crusade to troll other sites. That doesn't seem like testing the bounds of free speech to me.

My point is that you have the right to post whatever you want but you are not immune to the consequences.

By: Captain Nemo on 12/4/12 at 8:28

I tired three more times and never got off the CP site both times.

By: BenDover on 12/4/12 at 8:30

Your cost for premium is about half what it is here loner.
