Up for Debate: Obama wraps DNC

Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 11:50pm

What's your reaction to President Barack Obama's nomination acceptance speech at the DNC? How did it compare to Mitt Romney's speech last week? How did it compare to President Bill Clinton's speech Wednesday?

Prediction: The Teapublicans have seen the writing on the wall, and it isn't what they wanted to read. Expect much wailing and gnashing of teeth as they face their impending electoral doom.

By: dargent7 on 9/7/12 at 5:51

Didn't see him but I'm sure he was brilliant.
Even FOX News isn't running clips this am so it must of been good.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/7/12 at 6:03

I'm still in the Charlotte area and the people are still excited to the event. I think it was a very good and the tea party will start there whine.

Come on p3 lets here your funny cries.

yogi I will see you later today if you have the nerve.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/7/12 at 6:31

I am looking forward to see p3 response, it will give us an idea as to how much the fringe is worried.

By: gdiafante on 9/7/12 at 6:45

I can summarize: Dems will say it was a great speech, Reps will say the opposite.

I did like the line about the GOP prescription for a cold: a few tax cuts, rollback regulation and call me in the morning.

Classic.

By: parnell3rd on 9/7/12 at 6:49

Well capt numnuts since you called me an idiot for a great joke, here it goes. I did not watch the great pumkin last night on the tv.
Why would I want to continue to listen to some one who blames Preveious President, when Obama himself voted for these policies when he was a 2 year senator.
Our President preaches class warfare and you all are to ignorant to realize he is a multi millionaire.
I f Obama is re-elected it will prove that American's are stupid.
He is not brilliant, like all politicians he has many speech writers.
Since umm is a cowrard, here is the writing on the wall: The deomocratic party will be the destruction of the USA.
So we'll keep the name calling up because that's all you guys can do.
I'll have to give it to the DNC, the best campain button so far came from Charlotte, NC:"Sluts Vote"

By: parnell3rd on 9/7/12 at 6:51

So you all have a great day and weekend. Wipe the drool and slober from your face from drinking the Kool Aide! "I made a ton of money buying Kool Aide stocks before the DNC" That is still a great joke!!!!!

By: parnell3rd on 9/7/12 at 6:53

Besides, where is all the positive comments from the democrats in this little support group? It was so bad you have nothing good to say about the speach? Yall could not watch the Liar in Chief either!

By: dargent7 on 9/7/12 at 7:02

FOX News just ran some clips...that was Obama's best line.
"Feel a cold?...
And this P-3 a$$ hole is vulgar, repetitive, sophmoric, irrelevant.

By: gdiafante on 9/7/12 at 7:10

I've never seen so many grammatical errors from something that wasn't composed by a six year old.

By: Ummm... on 9/7/12 at 7:23

"parnell" is calling me a "cowrard" today. Anybody know what that is? Oh, wait a minute, I bet it's how a retard spells coward! Now I get it...what a moron.

By: treehugger7 on 9/7/12 at 7:24

It was a great contrast to the the ridiculous empty chair! It gives me hope. I loved seeing the diversity of the audience, and Jill Biden was wonderful. My only worry now is that so many people who would vote for the president are being disenfranchised. If it weren't for the stupid picture ID requirement and the other roadblocks to voting, It would be a sure win for the president. Thinking people will vote for the president.

By: Ummm... on 9/7/12 at 7:34

treehugger, the Teapublican shills who regurgitate Faux News talking points on this forum (like Little Bennie and others) will keep defending the anti-American disenfranchisement of the citizenry as protection against the straw man of "voter fraud." These hypocrites know full well that these new, unnecessary laws sponsored solely by Teapublicans are a device designed to tilt the elctorate in their favor- here's hoping it backfires so badly they are all run out of town.

By: Ummm... on 9/7/12 at 7:36

oops- s/h/b "electorate"

By: dargent7 on 9/7/12 at 7:49

Tree, Ummm, Nemo, gD, Loner, and the other sane posters....
Not to worry. Romney & Co. are so corrupt, liars, hypocrites, two faced scum they simply cannot win in Nov.
America already went thru an entire cycle of that Chimp-in-Chief and Lon Cheney.
Enough.
Obama, imperfections, warts and all, will win.

By: gdiafante on 9/7/12 at 7:55

It's still a toss up, darge. They just released the job numbers for July, unemployment down a little, only 96K jobs added. There will be another jobs report right before the election.

Plus, they haven't even had the debates yet. There's still too much unknown to declare a winner 60 days out.

By: Rasputin72 on 9/7/12 at 8:25

Ummm is correct for the wrong reasons but correct nevertheless. There are just too many undereducated and underclass and lower class and displaced middle class to effect a change at the top. As in any democracy the majority shall have their way.

Now the productive class and the upper class should be busy right now trying to shore up their financial fences in whatever way they see fit.

So far, in the history of mankind no class of people have been able to repeal the Golden Rule. "Whomever has the Gold makes the rule."

By: Ummm... on 9/7/12 at 8:39

The bigoted monk may (and it's an open question) be materially wealthy, but he is undeniably morally bankrupt.

By: BigPapa on 9/7/12 at 8:56

I'm going out on a limb and guessing that all Democrats though he hit a home run and really nailed. I'm guessing all Republican hear nothing but half truths and lies.

Just a hunch.

By: gdiafante on 9/7/12 at 9:10

Yeah, I went out on that same limb at 6:45, papa.

By: BigPapa on 9/7/12 at 9:28

touche... sorry to be late to the party.

By: frodo on 9/7/12 at 9:35

As this discussion illustrates, the speech will win no one over to the Obama side who wasn't already there. And that is a problem for the President. His is a four-year-longggggg campaign of attrition. The more he campaigns, the more he loses. Clinton's speech just reminded them of what they don't have this election cycle. Obama is toast.

By: Ummm... on 9/7/12 at 10:55

frodo, there is a lot of territory outside of backward, Teapublican Tennessee, and the vast majority of those Americans will vote for Obama- who will win re-election easily. In spite of the billionaires pouring money into Romney's campaign, the American electorate will show the oligarchy that they can't buy the puppet government they want. Try looking ouside of hobbitland- you might learn something.

By: yogiman on 9/7/12 at 10:56

A thought to remember when voting for Barack Obama in November.

The D-Day Memorial takes place at the Bedford VA veteran's cemetery every year. There has only been three years the President of the USA did not attend that Memorial on D-Day. Those were the years 2010, 2011 and 2012. It's only a two hour helicopter flight from the Capital.

Barry apparently figured he needed to campaign instead of paying tribute to the soldiers who died to keep this country free.

If the Electoral College and the Senate allows Barry Soetoro aka Barack Obama the election without affirming his Constitutional eligibility, you can kiss the USA goodbye.

By: frodo on 9/7/12 at 10:59

Ummm, this little hobbit has been more places on this planet and in this country than you can count. Get out of your black-n-white cartoon character world where everything is a struggle between evil overlords and humbled masses.

By: yogiman on 9/7/12 at 11:04

You know, parnel3rd, it's funny, these dumbocraps seem to be able to only find a typographical error from one of their "opposetts"

By: yogiman on 9/7/12 at 11:08

What happened? Anyway, to finish what I started First to make the proper correction: "opposites" but they can't seem to find any errors from their "buddies".

They can only make a claim on us but they can't offer any affirmation on their argument. If they say it" it's so.

By: Ummm... on 9/7/12 at 11:13

Since you are so worldly wise, frodo, it's curious that you don't comprehend the obvious. I'll offer you the same bet "parnell" was afraid to take me up on- if Romney wins, I'll never post on this forum again, and if Obama wins, you stay silent in your imaginary hobbit-world, OK?

By: yogiman on 9/7/12 at 11:17

dumba$$,

I've got more to do than meet an idiot like you that thinks (do you even have a brain to think with?). The only way I would ever see you would be if you came to my home, where you aren't welcome.

I don't go out of my way to meet someone that can only make idiotic comments like you.

So stop and get you gas and go on home. If you come to my home without being invited (and you aren't), you're trespassing.

By: frodo on 9/7/12 at 11:19

No deal, Ummm. History proves that is what happens when people like you and Barry win...then everyone else must remain silent. If Romney wins, we still need to hear from you to remind us of the philosophy to which we never want to return. That is America.

By: yogiman on 9/7/12 at 11:25

Well frodo,

I read where Barry's wife had only taken 16 vacations in three years. But they didn't say how many golf games Barry's played in.

I guess it was to get their minds off of the problems the nation is having because hell, it only took a few billion dollars of our money.

By: Ummm... on 9/7/12 at 11:30

"frodo" and "parnell"- both talk with false bravado but haven't the stones to back it up.

By: bfra on 9/7/12 at 11:35

yogi - Go look up how much time Bush spent clearing brush, on his ranch with illegals he hired, or Cheney on his many hunts & how many people he shot.

By: yogiman on 9/7/12 at 11:39

What "stones" do you have to back up- what you're saying, Ummm?

Let me throw this stone at you, Ummm: If Barry Soetoro is given this election by the Electoral College and Senate without affirmation of his legal eligibility, I hope you're prepared for communism because you'll have it.

If you're implying that Obama was a "multi millionaire" before getting into office (and by office I mean any of his government positions), this is completely untrue. And secondly, most of the wealth that he has accumulated over the years is the result of his book publishing endeavors, and out of that a lot has gone to charitable organizations.

Nice attempt to try to make Obama look like Romney... but there simply is no comparison on that level.

By: frodo on 9/7/12 at 12:06

Ummm, having "the stones" to back something up is the language of your Chicago Thug in Chief. But I guess you know that.

By: yogiman on 9/7/12 at 12:14

Barry and Michelle may have paid off her student loans brrrrk, but I question them paying off Barry Soetoro's foreign scholarships.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/7/12 at 12:42

yogi I getting close to Gordonsville, you going to be there today?

I'll let you know when I am 15 mins away.

By: Ummm... on 9/7/12 at 12:44

So, Mr. Hobbit, the President of the United States is a "thug," eh? And here I was giving you credit for having misgivings about Obama that didn't involve racism. Sorry I misjudged you.

By: gdiafante on 9/7/12 at 12:44

Since when do you pay back a scholarship?

By: Captain Nemo on 9/7/12 at 12:45

With all of the whinnying coming from the fringe right; Rasputin, bud, p3 and frodo make the cries of someone that feels as if they are looser.

By: gdiafante on 9/7/12 at 1:01

Vacations...really? Of all the problems with government, the economy, etc., some people are still miffed that the leader of the free world takes vacations?

This doesn't support the idea that we have an educated electorate...

By: frodo on 9/7/12 at 1:04

Ummm, only a racist would find racism in the word "thug."

By: Ummm... on 9/7/12 at 1:09

That's right frodo, I'm a white racist who happens to support the president fully, and you're not a racist who calls the president a "thug." Must be hobbit logic...

By: frodo on 9/7/12 at 1:16

I feel like I'm trying to discuss logic with Gollum.

By: yogiman on 9/7/12 at 1:19

A vacation is a vacation, gdiafante. The First Ladies aren't elected. They just happen to luck out on the election. But over 5 vacations a year? At our expense? That aren't cheap. What does their vacations do for our country? Do you really enjoy them spend your money for vacations and golf games when our pocket book is so short of cash?

Hell fire, only multimillionaires can get in that office. Why can't the buy their wives party time with their own damn money?

And I'll tell you what I'll bet. I'll bet Mitt Romney won't charge this nation over a dollar a year for salary.

By: Ummm... on 9/7/12 at 1:22

"frodo" is a perfect name for you- you quite obviously live in a fantasy world.

By: gdiafante on 9/7/12 at 1:22

That aren't cheap.

No it aren't...lol

I'll bet Mitt Romney won't charge this nation over a dollar a year for salary.

God, you really are naive...

Oh c'mon G, get with the program!!! You know that only hard working GOP Presidents deserve to go on a vacation... Lazy Democratic ne'er do well Presidents just don't deserve them...
