Our President has the authority to appoint anyone they feel can help them in their roll to lead the nation. The current usurper thus has the authority to appoint anyone he feels can help him take the nation over as their dictator.

You reap what you sow

Funny; I thought being armed meant this wouldn't happen.

By: Kosh III on 1/9/13 at 7:10

I'm fine with Hagel who is one of the few sensible Republicans left. He knew the Bush wars were bogus and wasn't afraid to say so.

Kerry is a good choice but I just don't want the Democrats to lose a Senate seat.

Brennan? Don't know enough about him though he seems fine with the dreadful practice of using drones to massacre the innocent along with the possibly guilty.

It doesn't who Obama nominates the trolls will whine.

Kosh, my daughter gave me first year Doctor Who for Christmas. I ever seen it before or the old series. I am enjoying it.

Nashville is on the front page of the New York Times today--pretty good article ! Finally getting some good publicity besides the DeJarlais mess and our foolish legislature.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 1/9/13 at 7:57

I saw that too, treehugger. That's great for Nashville!

By: Blanketnazi2 on 1/9/13 at 7:58

I agree with the Hagel nomination. I think that's a great choice.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 1/9/13 at 8:01

What do you guys think of Krugman for Treasury?

By: Kosh III on 1/9/13 at 8:07

Krugman Excellent choice; he should've been there already.

Nemo Welcome to the world of Whovians. Is that Christopher Eccleston as DW?
I've watched DW ever since the early 80s with #4 Tom Baker. It's great. Keep in mind, esp, when you watch the classic portions, that is, those from the 20th century, that it is marketed to a juvenile-age audience.

By: BenDover on 1/9/13 at 8:20

I'm a big Dr Who fan too.

By: govskeptic on 1/9/13 at 8:34

Given the choice of Sen. Kerry over the UN Ambassador this is not a bad choice.
Not to be sexist, but I've personally felt the women serving as Secretary of State
over the last 3 Presidents has made dealing with the Muslim nations more
difficult and their office taken very light by the leaders of those nations. That's not
to say they weren't capable and qualified for the office in every other respect.

Former Senator Hagel may have been a Vietnam warrior, but has turned totally
anti-military in many ways which coincides with the President's apparent
views as well. Probably short on management skills, but I do agree with his
scorned statement that the Jewish lobby has far too much influence in Washington.

Rand Paul in Israel: End All Foreign Aid Gradually

I was surprised to hear this viewpoint expressed by a Republican.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 1/9/13 at 8:51

I'm happy to see Elizabeth Warren on the Senate Banking Committee.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 1/9/13 at 9:07

Wow, this is a rather surprising data point: “From fiscal 2009 to fiscal 2012, the deficit shrank 3.1 percentage points, from 10.1% to 7.0% of GDP.”

It is even more surprising when you consider its source is the usually conservative Investors’ Business Daily.

Isn't that interesting?

By: Captain Nemo on 1/9/13 at 9:15

Kosh, Ben I have never been able to get The Doctor before, but I am just wild about the show.

Eccleston is great and the actress play Rose is great for the part. I have never seen the classic, so I an just having fun as a nu be.

By: yogiman on 1/9/13 at 9:30

Sorry, ENN,

Obama is a usurper in office, not a legally elected official president. And no Obama supporters one on this site will stop backing Obama on his usurpation of office... so why should I quit "telling it like it is"?

By: Kosh III on 1/9/13 at 10:14

The library only has a handful of Classic Who but if you want to see a good one, try this. It's DW #3 and introduces several important features such as UNIT and the Brigadier. Plus the 70s outfits are hilarious.
The villain is one which repeappears in later stories including an early episode with Eccleston and Rose.

I was missing yesterday during for the BCS discussion and I'd like to interject one thing.

First of all, there's no disputing the fact that Alabama had the better team. But the reality is that they should have... not because they're in the SEC or not because Notre Dame isn't in a conference, but because it's a lot easier to recruit top notch athletes when you're only graduating 75% of your football roster (which by the way is an all time high for Bama); compared to Notre Dame that graduates 97% of their roster.

By: brrrrk on 1/9/13 at 11:21

And just for giggles.....

Top 10 Football Grad Rates: FBS
(Graduation Success Rate)
Notre Dame 97%
Northwestern 94%
Rice 93%
Duke 93%
Boston College 93%
Navy 91%
Rutgers 89%
Army 88%
Miami (Fla.) 88%
Stanford 87%
Penn State 87%

By: Rasputin72 on 1/9/13 at 11:34

Brrrk....Very well done! However if intelligence and being diligent in your quest for knowledge this country would jave never elected Barack Hussein Obama as President.

Alabama represents what the people want, a free or easy ticket to success.

In the meantime, Notre Dame was unable to hike their leg and got drilled just exactly like productive and successful Americans did in November.

By: slacker on 1/9/13 at 11:39

I agree brrrrk. After the Southern Protestants, hung 28 unanswered points on the Northern Catholics, they should have brought in Alex Trebek, and switched to Jeopardy.

By: Rasputin72 on 1/9/13 at 11:42

Slacker.......No one will top that comment today.

Gee, I wonder what success looks like 10 years down the road when you graduate from a program that only graduates 75% of their roster. Two words, Vince Young... yeah, I know, not from Bama..... but still indicative of graduating from that type of program. And by the way UT's graduation rate makes Bama look like a team of Rhodes Scholars.

By: slacker on 1/9/13 at 11:53

brrrrk, the Tennessee Volunteers do have a dismal graduation rate, and still manage to get the crap kicked out of them every week.
But ''Butchie'' gonna turn it around!

By: Captain Nemo on 1/9/13 at 12:00

I would not talk about easy ticket to success Raspy old boy. In the time I knew you lived off low self-esteem women. Someone said they thought you was now living with some old man.

By: Captain Nemo on 1/9/13 at 12:02

Thanks for the tip Kosh. I will do that soon.

By: brrrrk on 1/9/13 at 12:03

And by the way "Sputey"...

If graduation rate doesn't mean anything, why get all defensive? I didn't create the stats, and it seems to me that you basically agreed with my premise.

Don't shoot the messenger if you don't like the message....

NEMO.........I am getting more and more convinced every day that you were the nine year old that lived on New York ave and had a little something going on with the Samoan teenager. The other urchins called you "Rat". I do remember very well the Nemovitz family.

I remember that it was difficult to collect the 45cents a week due me.

I remember the Samoan was sent to Jordonia and you were sent to TIS. Your family abandoned you.

I hate to tell you this, Rasputin72, but you can't elect someone to an office they aren't legally eligible to hold. That's called usurpation of office. And Barry Soetoro aka Barack Obama isn't legally eligible to hold our President's office. Why? Because he isn't a natural born [American] citizen.

He, therefore, isn't the first black president of this nation, he's the first usurper whom the congress (Senate) of this nation has allowed to achieve his goal. Question: Why did the Electoral College 'vote' him in office without question under the argument of his eligibility for over four years? Why did the Senate approve their vote under the same question?

By his biography, Barack Obama was a British subject at birth. When did he become a nationalized American citizen? Or has he? Could it possibly be a foreigner sitting in our Oval Office?

To those of you looking forward to being ruled by a dictator, hang in there, you're just around the corner from it.

By: brrrrk on 1/9/13 at 12:27

Hey Raspy, Ben.... your dog's loose again......

By: yogiman on 1/9/13 at 12:33

Unlike you, dargent7, I haven't needed to play with my "Wang" after I learned what that "thang" was. I always let the girls (women after I matured) play with it. It's a shame you couldn't find one.

By: brrrrk on 1/9/13 at 12:38

Impotent I'm guessing....
