Is this yet another waltz with the media and 1600 penn ave to divert attention from the Libya murders? There are bloody hands in DC; my question is how many and whose.

Who cares who's screwing who in DC; we've all been screwed for decades, or more! And after the command performance monica performed for the commander in chief, why is this so "newsworthy"??

By: yogiman on 11/12/12 at 3:54

Only David Petraeus knows. I hope it's because he doesn't want to feel forced to lie for Barry on Benghazi. Hopefully, Thursday will tell us.

By: Rasputin72 on 11/12/12 at 4:42

In a high level security clearance there are questions galore. One question that comes to mind is Is there anything in your past that you would not like to be made public? Another question is, Is there anything in your past that you could be blackmailed for?

Perhaps at the time of the security clearance these questions were not relevant. I think however these questions would require some soul searching by Petraeus recently.

This situation could only have happened to a very naive man who dedicated his entire life to study and making his family proud. This type person is always gullible when it comes to the "wail of the sirens"

Being of his background and naivety he was vulnerable from the very start of this "relationship" He certainly is not the first nor will he be the last who sucumbs to the "wail of the sirens"

He was a good man and still is. Unfortunately sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you would be the most appropriate sign off on this debacle.

Considering the relish with which the media pursues such incidents, the political opportunists who will mercilessly exploit indescretions, and the inevitable judgements from some, possibly guilty of far worse, General Petraeus' decision to resign is understandable.

A pity more public figures don't follow the same example.

By: Ask01 on 11/12/12 at 4:57

One more point, if I may.

General Petraeus, owing to his years of service, most likely acted out of a sense honor and conscience, a concept foreign to certain civilians, dictating he do the only honorable thing left by resigning. The modern equivalent of falling on his sword.

As stated before, an example many should emulate.

Good morning, Nashville.

What is your reaction to David Petraeus' announced resignation Friday?

If I were writing the headline(s) for that story, I wold have went with:

General Petraeus Succumbs to Beaver Fever

or maybe this:

Bimbo Broadwell Bags Big Brass Bozo

or this:

Unintelligent Intelligence Chief Resigns

The irony in this is that Petraeus is a world-class brown-noser...he brown-nosed the Commandant at West Point...he married his daughter. He brown-nosed two US Presidents, Bush and Obama....but the general met his personal Waterloo when he went ga-ga over a brown-nosing biographer. The moral being that if one lives by the brown-nose, one can die by the brown-nose.

By: bfra on 11/12/12 at 6:49

Loner - Broadwell (sic) sounds like a "conniving" brown-nosing biographer. All of this is probably a great boost to the sell of her books. Plus if the second woman is innocent, she should sue Broadwell for every penny she can get.

By: Loner on 11/12/12 at 7:07

The right wingnuts are convinced that the General had this sex scandal all set to go...like a suicide belt...just in case his boss, the POTUS, got into some kind of trouble...like the tragedy in Benghazi.

The "theory" being that a disgraced and resigned CIA Chief would somehow remove responsibility and culpability from the POTUS, for alleged presidential incompetence or corruption, which resulted in the deaths of 4 Americans at the hands of a gun-toting mob in Benghazi.

I don't think that the majority of Americans will buy into that ludicrous conspiracy theory;
but millions of sore-loser Republicans will.....the next 4 years will be filled with hateful sniping like this. Never mind any "financial cliffs", the GOP just wants to bring down the President....it's their lone obsession.

By: bfra on 11/12/12 at 7:14

The Teapubs & their "snakes in the grass" leaders Bush & Chaney are the reason we are in the situation we are in now. They will pull anything or do anything to try to cast blame on someone else.

By: yogiman on 11/12/12 at 7:17

I don't know, Loner, it looks like the majority of Americans were fooled enough to vote for a president they don't even know. I'm afraid they're going to turn out to be left-winged nuts.

By: yogiman on 11/12/12 at 7:22

Question: When he went in office one of the first "announcements" he made, your president made the statement about the need of a "civilian" army.

He was reduced the number of military personnel with the growth of his civilian personnel. Any reason why he would reduce the size of the federal army and increase the size of his civilian army?

By: parnell3rd on 11/12/12 at 7:35

best comment so far goes to puddycat!
And the BS award goes to bfra!
I find it interesting how you all forget that there was only one person in the house and senate who voted agains going to war when Pres. Bush was in power. That one person was Sen. Paul.
Thats right bfra, all of your other demoNcrats voted to go to war.

By: Rasputin72 on 11/12/12 at 7:36

LONER.....This is a mongrel country divided as no othe country in the world save Iraq. Had Romney been elected you would have had your side and the other mongrels doing all in their power to bring disgrace and failure to Romney.

The things you accuse the anti-Obama people of doing the next four years is just a shot across the bow of what this country will endure in the future.

This is a country without a national purpose.

By: parnell3rd on 11/12/12 at 7:37

Now all of you liberal kool aide drinkers may what to cover your ears and sing lalalalal !
Did anyone else see the headlines off massive layoffs after Pres. Obama was re-elected?
How about all of the companies anouncing cutting hours of employees so they do not have to pay for "affordble heathcare" Obamacare.

By: bfra on 11/12/12 at 7:38

Don't expect wee sized p3 to know any facts about all the Bush/Chaney LIES the entire war was based on. That would require some smarts.

By: parnell3rd on 11/12/12 at 7:40

Now Bob Corker, Repube Sen. from HERE has said "he has not met a millionaire in Tennessee that is against paying higher taxes, as long as the money is spent correctly'
Get ready to bend over America!!!!!
Q. How do you know a politician is lying?
A. His or Her lips are moving!!!

By: bfra on 11/12/12 at 7:40

p3 - Guess all the right side nuts are keeping their threats they made trying to get Romney elected. Didn't work before the election & even Romney's threats didn't get him elected.

By: bfra on 11/12/12 at 7:42

p3 - Show a creditable link about all the layoffs & hour cuttings.

By: parnell3rd on 11/12/12 at 7:42

So bfra all of your demoNcrate heros are stupid and believed every word Pres. Bush said? So they drank the kool aide too and it's still all of someone elses fault because your demoNcratic leaders are stupid and gullible.

By: parnell3rd on 11/12/12 at 7:43

You just helped me make the point.

By: Loner on 11/12/12 at 7:43

Did Petraeus Betray Us? Details at eleven...stay tuned.

Folks just love that dirty laundry....

By: parnell3rd on 11/12/12 at 7:45

Why post a link? Go find it your self. Oh that's right if the news worthy sight is not blessed by the demoNcratic party it is not credible.

By: parnell3rd on 11/12/12 at 7:53

okay bfra, go to the blaze type in layoffs in search button and the second story list all of the companies. Plus 230 other stories under layoffs.
Go to the daily caller search layoffs and 244 stories come up.
Now if American's would do a little searching on their own instead of listening to party lines we may not be in as bad off as we are.
Here is the bottom line. America is in decline because of all of the politicians WE elected into office. WE THE PEOPLE are to blame, because we elected them, all of them.

By: Loner on 11/12/12 at 7:54

Parnell sez: "I find it interesting how you all forget that there was only one person in the house and senate who voted agains going to war when Pres. Bush was in power. That one person was Sen. Paul."

Ron Paul is not in the US Senate...for starters....he's a member of the House.

if we are talking the Iraq war vote, in the Senate, 21 Democrats, one Republican and one Independent voted in 2002 against the War in Iraq.

Six Republicans, one independent and 126 Democratic members of the House of Representatives voted NAY, on October 11, 2002, to the use of force against Iraq.

For more details, check this source:

Or Google it yourself.

By: bfra on 11/12/12 at 7:54

p3 - Your 7:40 comments prove that you know Bush/Chaney lied. Proves my point! You don't post a link, because you can't find a creditable one!

By: bfra on 11/12/12 at 7:59

p3 - Do you mean blaze connected with FOX news & Glen Beck? You are trying to be funny this AM!

By: Loner on 11/12/12 at 8:01

It would not surprise me to red that many US employers were laying off or not hiring right now...those folks are largely Republicans and they were waiting for Romney to be sworn-in before resuming hiring and expansion..now, there is no political incentive to revive the economy...recovery might make BHO look good and that is the last thing that those guys want.....they may hunker down for four more years...freezing out Americans...moving their operations off-shore etc. Trying to crash the fragile recovery should be a piece of cake for these pros....the sore-losers.

By: yogiman on 11/12/12 at 8:02

That's different, parnell3rd.

The dumbole craps can have it any way they want it.

By: yogiman on 11/12/12 at 8:02

That's different, parnell3rd.

The dumbole craps can have it any way they want it.

By: bfra on 11/12/12 at 8:04

I don't remember the exact words but Romney threatened that if he wasn't elected, his people would ruin the economy.

By: Loner on 11/12/12 at 8:05

Typo: red s/h/b read...mea culpa...need meds. Damn homophone error @ 8:01.

By: yogiman on 11/12/12 at 8:13

It's there, parnell3rd. If you read the same one I read it said 1000 jobs were released. But what the hell, that's okay, that's the Republican party's fault.

By: Loner on 11/12/12 at 8:14

The GOP predicted doom, if BHO got a 2nd term, now, they will do their level best to make their prophecy come true.

The GOP could not bring Obama down with the vote.....now, they'll try to bring him down by way of personal scandal or economic disaster.

Maybe the Mossad will step in, to aid the GOP in their goal....85% of 75,000 Israeli Americans voting in the Jewish state voted for Romney....this fact should not be ignored...I fear for the President's safety.

By: dargent7 on 11/12/12 at 8:15

This Broadwell broad is pretty stunning.
AHarvard PhD. candidate and a West Point grad.
She has a "hard body" and runs triathelons.
Petreaus' wife is long in the tooth, baggie, and can hardly climb a flightof stairs.
It's a no-brainer.
Like Bill and Monica, Gary and "Monkey Business", or Roberts and that videotographer.
She wasn't a Russian spy so who cares?
Oh, and buenos noches from San Jose.
Fisher's Rams tied (my) 49ers....in OT. Damn FG kickers.

By: parnell3rd on 11/12/12 at 8:20

bfra, take a deep breath, go to abc, nbc, cbs, fox, washington post and yes even the huffington post and type in layoffs and see what appears. I know 5 out of 6 will shock you, but even the liberal Obama media is reporting the layoffs. Of course they being liberal blame some one else.

By: Rasputin72 on 11/12/12 at 8:20

LONER.....Commenting on your 8:01. Unfortunately you are correct. I am on the board of directors for a small company in Memphis. They have 52 employees. They have a plan to reduce the number of employees to 49 by year end. This makes them pretty much exempt from the Obamacare situation. You may not believe it by my posts but I voted against that plan. The little company has great products and I think a great future.

Once you place as a purpose limiting the number of employees you also limit your ability to grow and prosper.

This is a seven member board. The vote was 5 to 2 to put this plan into effect.

Unfortunately for a myriad of reasons not the least is the distrust of the Democrats and their socialist aim the people who voted for Obama are the money people in small business. You are going to see a lot of hunkering down by these small business owners

I am retired now but I remember 22 years ago a very difficult time in my personal life. I confided in a friend of mine how precarious my situation was. He was not a scholarly man by any means, a high school friend and a staunch union and democrat. I was ready to sell the business and take my losses.

My friend said to me, "Ras", all of your life the only thing you have ever wanted was more money. "I would have expected you to do what you have always done." Get over it and go out make more money."

To these small business people who are hunkering down and there are many, I would say to them, the same advice given me 22 years ago. "It is a dastardly thing that has been done by Obama and his "free stuff" people" but you must go forward and make the best of a bad situation." Think of ways to increase revenue, grow sales and quit crying."

By: parnell3rd on 11/12/12 at 8:22

like i said brfa is Jesus Christ himself reported this news you would not believe it because he was on the wrong tv channel.
Oh, daily caller is not credible?
Then check out the other news reports.

By: yogiman on 11/12/12 at 8:23

We elected all but one, parnell3rd. You can't legally elect someone for a position they aren't legally eligible to run for. And Barry Soetoro aka Barack Obama was not Constitutionally eligible to run for the office he usurped.

I'll repeat the biggest question: Why did congress allow it to happen? In 2009, I questioned Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker why they questioned John McCain on his eligibility but didn't question Barack Obama.

I received no answer from Corker. Alexander answered saying they "investigated" Obama and he was eligible.

I wrote back and asked where they got that information and why it had not been given to the public. I'm still waiting for an answer to my question.

By: bfra on 11/12/12 at 8:23

Gop's stance on ruining America because they didn't get their way. should be enough for Americans to clearly see what they stand for. It is hard for me to understand, why anyone would still support them.

By: parnell3rd on 11/12/12 at 8:23

even when someone else does all of the work for you, your still in denial. They have 12 step programs for denial.

By: Loner on 11/12/12 at 8:24

Was the catting-around General brought down by a cat-fight? Or was it a dog-fight between two bitches?

Broadwell's book should be a block-buster...it's Hollywood movie material....this unfolding story has all the good stuff: international intrigue, the pinnacles of power, the violence of war, political infighting, the passion of illicit love, blind ambition, human frailty, human vindictiveness....this thing sizzles....the General's fat is in the fire....and people love the smell of frying bacon in the morning.

By: bfra on 11/12/12 at 8:24

p3 & yogi _____________________________________________?

Yall have a blessed day, i'm going to drink coffee and go see a movie on this beautiful rainy day!
Remenber GOD loves us all!

By: yogiman on 11/12/12 at 8:28

Well I'll be damned, bfra, you can make that remark in your 8:04 post and you aren't lying. How big of a lie would it have been if I made that statement. How are we supposed to know you didn't lie and make that comment up?

I guess we're that different, huh? You won't lie but I won't tell the truth... even though you never say what I'm "lying" about.

By: parnell3rd on 11/12/12 at 8:28

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman Monica Lewinski" Pres. Bill Clinton
I bet Bill has already called the General for her phone number!!! HAHAHHA that was funny!!!

By: bfra on 11/12/12 at 8:28

Unlike bud, I am not in for suing everybody, but if I was that 2nd woman & not guilty, I would sue Broadwell for every penny she has or might have in the future.

By: parnell3rd on 11/12/12 at 8:29

bfra is taking propaganda lessons from Mike Burch.

By: parnell3rd on 11/12/12 at 8:29

now, i'm out!!!!

By: bfra on 11/12/12 at 8:32

For the biggest liar:
