Up for Debate: Sandy, Benghazi and Obama

Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 12:57am

Do you believe President Obama — as has been asserted — has benefitted from the news coverage of Hurricane Sandy while questions over the response to the Benghazi attacks continue to mount? Some have questioned not only the Obama administration's response to the deadly attack but also the most recent media coverage of what happened that night last month, implying some media outlets are ignoring reports of a "stand down" order to the CIA. What are your thoughts?

I doubt he even knows which precinct he's in.

Joe, when the troll leaves his droppings, we regulars just activate the Troll Dropping Avoidance Mode (TDAM) feature.....a simple (click) identifies, but does not engage the fecal material.....we tried argumentation and reason, but fecal material is incapable of rational thought....so, we just use the (click).

Some use the Troll Droppings Disposal Feature (TDDF), this is indicated by the (flush).

Feel free to design your own mechanism for avoiding the troll droppings...the online road apples.

So Romney holds up a relief line for photo-op. That is good. I bet that FOX did not report that.

Troll Be Gone 2.0 makes troll postings invisible. It's just another option.

If fecal matter had brains or any pride it would know it was not being read.

Bishop Romney donated all of his expired, sell-by dated foods which he had been storing in his survivalist bunker? How generous.

By: Loner on 10/31/12 at 10:04

Romney wants to take FEMA and split it into fifty state-run relief agencies...he's big on states rights...of course, these mega storms do not respect state boundaries, so the idea of adding red tape, differing regulations and more confusion in the wake of a major disaster is absolutely stupid....in my most humble of opinions.

Romney's basic plan is to be the anti-Obama...for white bigots that's sufficient reason to support the guy.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 10/31/12 at 10:04

Indeed, Loner.

Part of Romney’s Storm Relief Rally Was Pure Photo Op

http://themoderatevoice.com/166042/report-part-of-romneys-storm-relief-rally-was-pure-photo-op/

But the last-minute nature of the call for donations left some in the campaign concerned that they would end up with an empty truck. So the night before the event, campaign aides went to a local Wal Mart and spent $5,000 on granola bars, canned food, and diapers to put on display while they waited for donations to come in, according to one staffer. (The campaign confirmed that it “did donate supplies to the relief effort,” but would not specify how much it spent.)

By: jvh2b on 10/31/12 at 10:08

Loner - thats the only reason I can justify Romney having the support he does...he's anti everyone other than rich white religious men...yet still enjoys a wide swath of support...

Stupidity at it's finest ladies and gentlemen. Maybe the end times are upon us...but not for the reasons the loons think it is.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 10/31/12 at 10:09

Donations to storm relief? Laudable. The way it was stage managed where people had to grab a “donation” from the front to get to the line to greet the candidate (and be in camera range)? The intent was good but it became one more campaign event that used the pretext of the storm to generate images of the candidate in a way that was not completely honest with voters.

By: Loner on 10/31/12 at 10:12

Whitening the White House is the over-arching passion for many Republican voters... the GOP could have nominated a white cockroach for POTUS.... and they would still get that white supremacist vote. White men, as a demographic, are especially disgruntled over the fact that a black family occupies the White House...they still chafe at their loss in 2008....one of those addled Caucasian extremists may try to snuff the President, if he gets re-elected.

By: Loner on 10/31/12 at 10:28

If he were not running for POTUS, would Romney lift a finger to help those hit by the storm? I certainly doubt it...how much did Mitt donate to the victims of Katrina? To find out, I Googled it and found this:

http://www.esquire.com/blogs/politics/mitt-romney-hurricane-katrina-12141816

Snippet - What to think, then, about a man (Romney) who has the skills to put a situation right, to assume a nation's moral responsibility and ease the suffering of its citizens, and who instead made a considered decision to simply stand by and watch the official foundering? A man who, perhaps, was so invested in securing the Best Job for Him that all other considerations pale beside it?

Romney's MO has been to fault the sitting president and FEMA when a major hurricane hits, hoping that voters will vote for him to be POTUS...on this, he is consistent....Mitt never lets a disaster go to waste, he milks them for political points.

How much Mitt personally donated to Katrina's victims remains a mystery.

By: Loner on 10/31/12 at 10:51

Romney is passing pout political T-shirts at his "relief rally"...what an asshole:

http://americablog.com/2012/10/red-cross-romney-hurricane-sand.html

Pardon my language, but when a guy pulls a stunt like that, you call the asshole an asshole.

By: Loner on 10/31/12 at 10:54

I think that most reasonable people will see right through Romney's phony relief rallies...of course bigoted white men are too blinded by hate to see the truth....they just want BHO out of there, regardless of how it is done.

I wonder if Ben Dover sees Romney's grandstanding for what it is....Ben, are you there?

An interesting remark was engraved on a tombstone 120 years ago in the Attica Cemetary in Harper County, Kansas.

On the front it showed: N. Grigsby... Died Apr. 16, 1890. Aged 78Yrs. 6Ms. 5Ds.. 2ndLieut. Co.G. 10thInd. Cavy.

On one of the sides it reads: Through this inscription I wish to enter my dying protest against what is called the Democratic party. I have watched it closely since the days of Jackson and know that all the misfortunes of our nation has come to it through this so called party therefore beware of this party of treason.

Below that comment it read: Put on in fulfillment of promise to Deceased.

And that was 120 years ago? WOW! That man knew what was coming out in force 120 years ago.

It took the Democrat 120 years to pull it off, but it looks like they've finally made it.

Loner,

You are showing how comical you're getting to be. You can only see anything negative about Romney, whom you know so much about, but you can't see anything but good about Obama, whom you know nothing about.

I prefer to know what I'm arguing about.

A smart young man made a few good comments last night. He commented: "Everyone concentrates on the problems we've having in Our Country lately: Illegal immigration, hurricane recovery, alligators attacking people in Florida. Not me - I concentrate on the solutions for the problems - it's a win-win situation. Dig a moat the length of the Mexican border. Send the dirt to New Orleans to raise the level of the levees. Put the Florida alligators in the moat along the Mexican border. Any other problems you would like for me to solve today?

"Think about this: 1, Cows. 2. The Constitution. 3. The Ten Commandments.
Cows:
Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the state of Washington. And they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.

The Constitution:
They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys and it has worked for over 200 years and we're not using it anymore.

The Ten Commandments:
The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse s this: You cannot post "Thou Shall Not Steal", Thou Shall Not Commit Adultery and"Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians. It creats a hostile work environment."

I think that the troll has driven a lot of folks away from this site....all we can hope for is that Romney wins the popular vote but loses the EC...then, the nut-job might go berserk and be put down, like the rabid dog he is...hopefully, if and when he loses it, no innocents are harmed....Yogi is a time bomb? He is absolutely obsessed with Obama's eligibility....he refuses to recognize the authority of the POTUS.....this borders on sedition...let's hope that Yogi is all mouth and no guts...hopefully somebody is keeping tabs on the guy.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/superstorm-sandy-recovery-extensive-expensive-us-history/story?id=17604660

Agreed, blanket. As I see it, the storm is going to end up having some positive outcomes. First, it indicates the necessity of FEMA. Second, the recovery is going to create employment.

Third, this should knock some sense into the climate change doubters. Extreme weather is the new reality and a byproduct of climate change. We had better start dealing with it.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 10/31/12 at 11:47

g, people who deny climate change are blind. Nothing is going to make them see the light.

Hopefully if there are any undecided voters, they will be able to see Obama's leadership and Romney's sleaziness.

By: bfra on 10/31/12 at 12:10

Had lunch with a friend yesterday, her husband is a big muck-d-muck in the corporate world & an avid Romney fan (she isn't). He believes (actually) Sandy is being over hyped to boost Obama. I could do nothing but laugh. Book & business sense does not equal common sense, in his case, anyway.

By: bfra on 10/31/12 at 12:12

I would bet, there are people already regretting their early voting for Romney.

While the real work of the nation is ongoing, four Republican Senators are still harping and carping over the Benghazi tragedy...still trying to exploit the tragedy for political gain...the Four Jack-Asses of the Apocalypse are: Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.; John McCain, R-Ariz.; Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H.; and Ron Johnson, R-Wis.

Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/10/31/republicans-senators-press-obama-admin-again-for-answers-on-benghazi/#ixzz2AtsVsi00

These four claim to represent the American people...let's check the facts:

Senator Graham's backers are listed here:

Senator McCain's backers are listed here

Senator Ayotte's backers are listed here:

Senator Johnson's backers are listed here:

These jokers are partisan hacks...they have no shame....no ethics, other than situational.

Loner,

I'm sure if you could, you would have given me the information I've been asking for. But you haven't, why not? Or why have you refused for all of this time? Could it be because you don't know it?

To accept that man who refuses to identify himself makes you look like a damn fool. I hate to say that, but why are you so willing to accept someone as your president whom you don't know and have no idea who in the hell he is? That, Loner, makes you a damn fool.

And this comment goes to your fellow idiots, too.

I have offered all kinds of evidence to you but you don't seem to be able to read it. And where did I get my information? From the autobiography of Barack Obama.

I find it funny, you all can find all kinds of negative information about Mitt Romney, but you can't even fine Barry's legal name or where he was born. I guess you just aren't interested in knowing it. Are you afraid of what you would find?

By: Loner on 10/31/12 at 12:21

Of course, John McCain is doing all he can to smear the President...after all, McCain was the last hold out on the MLK Day issue...McCain's claim to fame was his white supremacist attitude; that's a prerequisite to holding office in AZ...arguably the most racist state in the union. McCain was defeated by a black guy...that sticks in the old geezer's craw....defeating Obama has become McCain's obsession....McCain is the biggest creep in Congress, IMO.
