Yep, I read that too, brrrrk. That decision was about as good as his suggestion to de-fund FEMA. He's not the guy to make big decisions.

From these decisions and ideas one can see that being a corporate CEO does not translate to knowing how to do well in government. Sure, according to the "books" it may look good to loosen the regulations on pharmaceuticals and to lower funding for FEMA, but it doesn't work well in the real world.

This hurricane has revealed a lot about both Presidential candidates, but also about Governor Christie. Obama has taken charge, and focused on the disaster, helping the people effected. Romney has used the disaster as a backdrop for his campaign, with token, worthless ‘aid’ efforts which do more harm than good. And Chris Christie is the real surprise here. With his reputation as a firebrand, and his outspoken and many times abrasive attitude, many expected him to reveal an obnoxious, out of touch brat who cared more about making this an opportunity to catapult himself to higher office. Instead, he revealed that despite his demeanor, he does in fact care about the people of his state, and for the office he holds. Instead of politics as usual, he shrugs off the pundits and focused on getting the job done first and foremost. The people of New Jersey are his people, and anything that hurts them, it hurts him.
These are some of the things Governor Christie has been quoted as saying:
“He gave me his number at the White House and told me to call him if I needed anything”
“I spoke to the president three times yesterday. He called me for the last time at midnight last night asking what he could do. I said, if you can expedite designating New Jersey as a major disaster area that that would help us to get federal money and resources in here as quickly as possible to help clean up the damage here.”
“The president was great last night. He said he would get it done. At 2 a.m., I got a call from FEMA to answer a couple of final questions and then he signed the declaration this morning. So I have to give the president great credit. He’s been on the phone with me three times in the last 24 hours. He’s been very attentive, and anything that I’ve asked for, he’s gotten to me. So, I thank the president publicly for that. He’s done — as far as I’m concerned — a great job for New Jersey.”
Blanket all of this will fall on deaf ears. They only want to hear what they want to hear.

Once again, Obama shows us that he knows how to lead.

Isn't funny, you all have been making comments about Mitt Romney and his sons not "volunteering" for service... but it's okay Bill Clinton and Barack Obama didn't volunteer.
It seems like all but two presidents from Harry Truman has served in our military. The two that didn't? Bill Clinton and usurper Barack Obama. But I guess that's alright because they are Democrats. The pictures shown of them are Billy Boy in his school bank uniform and Barack in his Islam faith uniform. Made them look cute, didn't it.
I guess they deserved to be president because they looked so good in their mirrors.

But, bottom line, if Romney were the President today, he would have this to say, "People, it's up to your state to help you. I want govt out of the way. Thereby, we have no FEMA. Nothing for you. Now if you want to convert to Mormonism, then I can send you a few missionaries. Otherwise, tough it out!"
Thank goodness President Obama is here to lead and to help with the full backing of the United States government.
Funny, in times like this, you don't hear Romney and Ryan talking about getting govt out of the way or getting rid of FEMA. Whose politicizing now!!
