What do think about the Metro school board's latest vote to reject Great Hearts' charter proposal, seemingly doing so in defiance of the state?

Haslam is a Republican...but I agree with your sentiment...get rid of him.

By: Kosh III on 9/12/12 at 9:11

Religious violence? You mean like the Crusades? 30 Years War?
How about Catholic?Protestant warfare in Northern Ireland even until this day?

The best 15 minutes of entertainment I could have in the month of September would be to attend a public meeting in Palm Beach and hear an application for a Dairy Dip. The roar of laughter from all in the room other than the poor applicant would break the noise ordinance rule.

For all of you villagers West Palm Beach is a city and Palm Beach is a city and the only thing they have in common is that both are listed as cities in Florida.
There is as much of a chance of a Dairy Dip being allowed in Palm Beach as there is of allowing horses, cows and chickens to be allowed as pets.

All men are created equal in the minds of fools and the naive.

And Thomas Jefferson...

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/12/12 at 9:17

Kosh, you forgot the Spanish Inquisition and the Salem Witch Trials. OH, and I'm sure there's about a million more! LOL

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 9:19

15 minutes at a time is all they give you at the Library?

By: Rasputin72 on 9/12/12 at 9:21

Gdiafante......Thomas Jefferson,my favorite American. He had every right to pronounce equality of man. With the exception of his slaves and his african girlfriend he was in constant contact with equality.

By: BigPapa on 9/12/12 at 9:23

We're in disarray.. even leftist aren't happy! The Occupy Movement was when "one of their own" was sitting firmly in the WH, now look at the teachers in Chicago yes, Chicago where Obama's right hand man is in charge THAT Chicago.. they want more and aren't happy with the answers they're getting...

We have protesters in the streets, high unemployment, skyrocketing fuel costs, a sinking position globally.. We need a President that can LEAD.. not a great politician, but a LEADER. There is a difference.

Obama is not a leader, he is a good politician. He chooses to divide and pit folks against each other rather than lead people to a conclusion or consensus. He's no Bill Clinton.

In short, 809 million people have died in religious wars. That’s nearly a billion people.

Oftentimes, a retort is that secular ideals and Godless Communism have killed many more. It is true that Stalin, among others, slaughtered his own people by the millions during the industrialization of Soviet Russia. By comparison, 209 million have died in the name of Communism. Some 62 million died during World War II, civilian and military, on all sides. Conclusively, more people have died in the name of religion than in the name of Communism or Hitler, or the two combined times two.

BIGPAPA for President!

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/12/12 at 9:29

Papa, do you understand what the teacher's strike in Chicago is even about? And do you want to talk about the jobs bill that the GOP keeps blocking?

By: gdiafante on 9/12/12 at 9:32

Papa's right though, Obama isn't a leader. He caves too much to the idiot Right...which is why we still have supply-side policies and can't quite get out of the economic slump.

Then, you do have a do-nothing Congress...not good. So what's Papa's answer? Let's do the things that f*cked it all up in the first place.

Brilliant.

As for the tragedy in Libya and the spectacle in Egypt yesterday....apparently, the Islam-bashing film was produced by a wealthy real-state tycoon who reports claim is an Israeli-American Jew . A Muslim-hating Egyptian Christian and that Qoran-burning pastor, Terry Jones promoted and publicized the hit piece.....as I have said before, HOLY WARS SUCK.

Here's a well-written article on the riots and the instigators:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/sep/12/hollywood-connection-film-rage-libya?intcmp=239

PM Netanyahu also exploited the calendar date yesterday to deliver an unprecedented verbal attack on the US government....particularly, the Obama Administration. Bibi's withering rebuke is a case of biting the hand that feeds, bankrolls, arms, defends and all but worships Israel and the Zionists.

Bishop Romney's recent fund-raiser in Israel is paying off.....the Likud Party is now teaming up with the US Republican Party and wealthy Zionist tycoons, like Sheldon Adelson, to defeat BHO.....I guess that's why they call the US-Israel nexus a "special relationship"....they meddle in out affairs but we do not get to return the favor.

Romney is exploiting the tragedy to condemn BHO....Willard wants to start the bombing runs over Libya and Egypt right now.....wants to kick Iran's ass too....tough talk for a draft-dodging wimp....of course, his 5 sons will not be doing any of the fighting.

Thanks to the flawed EC method, nine US swing states & the Jewish State in Palestine will decide on who wins in November.....if you are not living in a swing state or Israel, why go to the polls? Stay home and watch, "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington"....then weep for our republic.....corrupt politicians have managed to bugger the whole the entire enterprise.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 9:33

I wish this buffoon would try a little better to be more realistic in his lies. He just keeps on embarrassing himself.

Rasputin says, "For all of you villagers West Palm Beach is a city and Palm Beach is a city and the only thing they have in common is that both are listed as cities in Florida.
There is as much of a chance of a Dairy Dip being allowed in Palm Beach as there is of allowing horses, cows and chickens to be allowed as pets."

West Palm Beach, Fla.—The Dairy Queen® system has always been about sharing smiles and stories. Now the treat category leader and one of the leaders in quick service restaurants (QSRs) has opened its newest, most exciting treat concept, a DQ® Orange Julius® store in West Palm Beach. The location blends all of the amazing Dairy Queen soft-serve treats and cakes with Orange Julius beverages. In addition, the store also will serve Dairy Queen signature Iron Grilled Sandwiches as well as hot dogs. Located at 7900 S. Dixie Highway, the 1,964 square-foot restaurant employs a staff of 15.

================================================
When did they close the one on Royal Palm Beach Blvd., West Palm Beach, Fl.? Plus, there are several within a short drive. The only roar you hear, must be people that are laughing at you & not swallowing your BS.

By: bfra on 9/12/12 at 9:40

Nemo - Raspy must not be able to afford Dairy Queen, so he doesn't know where they are. I have been to the ones IN & around W. Palm Beach for years.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 9:42

gdia-

You would think someone of Rasputin’s class would know that? Do you suppose we now have a new king troll?

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 9:43

and his african girlfriend he was in constant contact with equality.

Translation; he sleep with a darkie.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 9:45

shb bfra sorry.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 9:49

Ladies and Gentlemen we have a new liar in our mist. Do you think we should just ignore him too or play a lone with this buffoon before we tire of him?

By: Loner on 9/12/12 at 9:50

Gd, I wrote, "small "d" democrat"...I know that Haslam is a Tea Bag Republican.

Republicans are supposed to be small"d" democrats and Democrats are supposed to be small "r" republicans...after all, ours is a democratic republic...or is it a republican democracy? Or has it devolved into a Christian vassal state to the Jewish State in Palestine?

With LDS Bishop Romney as US Commander-In-Chief, the state of Israel will not have to lift a finger to devastate their neighbors...the holy and righteous devastation will be delivered on target by the US Air Force and the US Navy.....US ground forces could follow up on the air strikes....the IDF will be able to kick back and watch the carnage on their TV sets.

Romney is bad for America....very bad.

The Jehovah’s Witness and 7 Day Adventist are ignored by people like. The Mormon's has been chase across the country until they made a home for themselves in Utah. Even today they are call a cult and not a religion.

So bud what you have done to protect these religious folk?

The first thing I "don't" do is to run them down, call them a cult or make fun of them. Besides that I respect their rights. And my "religion" does not have a mandate to Kill them because they are infidels (as does the Muslim - per the Koran).

And Kosh, et al, the holy wars of the past for Christians is non existent in today's culture. You don't see Baptistss and Presbyterians killing one another over religion such as the Muslims kill Coptic Christians.

OBAMA is not a leader as Raspi says. The word Diversity has it's roots in what word? Seems to me like the left uses the word Diversity to "divide and divide".

Oh heck. Sorry to leave such a nice party; going to work now. Have a special day.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 9:51

Maybe these ice cream parlors are in the ghettos of Palm Beech. LOL

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 9:53

Oh heck. Sorry to leave such a nice party; going to work now. Have a special day.

Translation; I'm going to go before they make me cry.

By: bfra on 9/12/12 at 9:54

Nemo - OH! OH! Bud has got "another" job. Wonder how long this one last?
No the ice cream parlors are not in the ghettos, nor arer the West Palm Beach ice cream parlors near the Mission here in Nashville. That could be Raspy's problem! :-)

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 9:56

Agree Loner Romney is very bad for the country. He would better serve as he is

By: bfra on 9/12/12 at 9:56

Nemo - That s/h/b "are" Sprry about that!

By: bfra on 9/12/12 at 9:58

Nemo - Well, I must be on a mistake mission! That s/h/b "Sorry". Kinda in a hurry this AM.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/12/12 at 10:00

bfra, she's probably selling Avon or Mary Kay.

By: pswindle on 9/12/12 at 10:01

Congratulations to the School Board for acting independent and doing what is right for Nashville and Davidison County. I hope that the state stays out of this, we do not need the strong arm of the the Government. This state needs to get back to serving the people of this great state.

I want to comment on Romney's speech this morrning about the problem in the Middle East. He is an angry white man. He is not going to be president and he knows it. Can you even imagine that President Obama would speak on a topic without getting all of the facts? The filmmaker should be deported or put in prisom. He knew what he was doing.
Did Romney blame Bush for 9/11. This man wants to start WWIII, and I hope to God he is not given the chnance.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 10:01

Not long bfra, if she has one now. Her temperament is her short coming and she will quit or more likely get fired.

By: Loner on 9/12/12 at 10:01

Bud checks her make-up, straightens the seams on her fishnets and struts out the door in red, 6-inch heels...going uptown....gonna grab a little bacon, bring it home & fry it up in a pan.....cause she's a woman....W-O-M-A-N....I say it again....

By: bfra on 9/12/12 at 10:04

Loner - That creates a gross image! But then, she has also created that with her comments.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 10:05

I understand bfra, I do that myself.

LOL Balnket and a Big LOL Loner.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 10:06

I want to comment on Romney's speech this morrning (sic);-) about the problem in the Middle East. He is an angry white man.

Translation; white is pure.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 10:08

A gross image would be an improvement, bfra.

By: yogiman on 9/12/12 at 10:08

I hate to tell you this, but you're right, B2. The communist slaughter the necessities of their citizens in order to rule. And you have a communist sitting in the Oval Office of this nation.

If he can usurp the office again you will find out in a hurry. In 57 days, or less, we will know.

When he went in the office and said if he didn't get the country out of debt in his first term, he would only serve one one term. Is he running to put us deeper into debt to make his takeover?

It's going to be interesting if all states put him on their ballot, the Electoral College votes him in without affirming his eligibility and the Senate approves their vote without also affirming his eligibility, you can bet your a$$ the USA has become a communist nation, just like Germany, Russia, China and all other communist nations.

Think they might form a new United Nations?

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 10:12

shb Blanket. See bfra. lol

By: BigPapa on 9/12/12 at 10:14

NEA is an arm of the Democratic Party. The fact that The Empty Suit can't get his folks in line shows how terrible he is as a leader.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 10:14

Blanket, I think if bud was able to that, she would put it in her account.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/12/12 at 10:18

BigPapa the so-called “Empty Suit” is not a Tea Bagger, that is the reason he can’t get his folks in line.

By: Loner on 9/12/12 at 10:19

Pswindle, this is a case of the Tea Bag Governor and his bag men trying to stuff the teacher's unions into a giant trash bag....Haslam wants to put the "garbage" out to the roadside.....this is union-busting, plain & simple, under the guise of "educational reform..."FOR THE CHILDREN!!"

We have heard the well-publicized good reasons for all this.

The "reform" would come in the form of publicly-funded private schools in which Teach For America neophytes, often without teaching certification, would work as scab teachers, for peanuts, in exchange for help with their student loans...the experience would also serve as a resume builder for recent college grads who sign on to the clever scheme.

The idea is to replace unionized experienced teachers with inexperienced young scabs...that is the unpublicized real reason for all this.

By: yogiman on 9/12/12 at 10:21

B2,

The Supreme Court going to bat for a religion isn't the same thing as common citizens accepting other religions is friendly religions.

By: Loner on 9/12/12 at 10:23

Put students into a non-unionized school and they are likely to end up becoming union-haters as adults...bullshitized by their scabby mentors. The Republicans know this and that's another real reason for their support for these Non-union Charter Schools and Christian Schools....these schools tend to turn out Republican voters....they are incubators of intolerance and arrogance.

By: dargent7 on 9/12/12 at 10:28

I lived, and worked in Dearborn, Mich. back in the 80's, which had the largest Muslim population outside the Middle East.
"These people" came into the suburbs and bought up EVERY liquor store, convienience store. All of 'em. They were all in their 30's and bought red Corvettes.
Obviously financed by their families with ties to oil. All they have to offer is OIL.
They then came out to the clubs, discos and hit on American women.
Didn't smoke or drink, just eye-balled the Americans.
What else could anyone want from them? Shrouds, scarfs, turbans, repression?
Religious enlightenment? They have nothing to offer America. Nothing.
Don't tell me "these people" are religious, God fearing.
They want to build a mosque at Ground Zero? Only idiots would allow them to.
A super-mosque in Murfeesboro? The IQ there is 65 with a tail-wind so that's possible.
They have an agenda. And, they're winning.
Let's us Catholics and Protestants go to Tehran and demand human rights and civil liberties. Oh, and government welfare, Foodstamps, TennCare.
See how far that gets you.

By: Loner on 9/12/12 at 10:30

Papa, it's Rahm Emanuel who can't herd the Democratic cats in the Windy City....he offered the Teacher's Union a 16% raise over 4 years...they earn an average of 72K/yr already.....the union originally demanded 30%....they insist on 19% or they will remain on strike.....the union boss is an obese black woman who seems to crave the limelight....this could drag on....unions defying a liberal Democratic Mayor - that's different, isn't it?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/12/12 at 10:30

Jehovah's Witness, 7th Day Adventist, Morman, Catholics - these are all Christian sects in a country in which Christians are the majority. They don't need anyone "going to bat" and they are insured their religious freedom by the Supreme Court. That is such a non-issue, lol!

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/12/12 at 10:32

So, does Detroit adhere to Muslim laws? No, I didn't think so.
