Up for debate: The State Fair

Monday, February 11, 2013 at 5:48pm

The Tennessee State Fair is the subject of wrangling between Metro and the state. The newly appointed state board has told the Metro Fair Board that it must offer a lease to the state's appointed non-profit. The Metro board has asked for more money. Who's right?

LOL - I guess you "perceive" things incorrectly! btw, anyone who play the lotto is an idiot.

By: Captain Nemo on 2/14/13 at 8:24

Raspy old boy, not counting myself, I know that two who post here make in the neighborhood of 175,000 and one is over 200,000. None have made a ass of themselves bragging what there income is annually.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 8:26

He is obviously not familiar with The Millionaire Next Door.

By: Captain Nemo on 2/14/13 at 8:26

Remember Raspy old boy I know who and what you are.

By: Rasputin72 on 2/14/13 at 8:28

NEMO......Every single dime including college tuition was afforded by me. My parents gave me more than they could afford and was greatly needed and appreciated but it was only a smattering of the real cost. I drove a Renault Dauphine in college that sometimes did not have enough compression to get me up the hills in Knoxville and my friend would push me up with my foot on the gas pedal. I know about potted meat and I know about vienna sausage and bologna and spam.

I also knew that I would do everything in my power to rise above my circumstances. They did not have college loans when I was in school. I worked during every semester and quarter and summers to afford state school tuition. My parents cheered me on.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 8:28

See, I don't grumble about paying my taxes. I recognize the value of paying them and I don't begrudge the people less fortunate than I am.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 8:30

Rasp, you're by far not the only person who has done that. So did I so get over your whiney self.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 8:31

I worked full time and went to school at night and my folks were not around to help me. Cry me a river you lying ass sissy.

By: BenDover on 2/14/13 at 8:32

d'arge... I think Taylor Swift is the country version of some of the old folk guys... not in the same class of course, but the music is like early Springsteen... (think, the River) and Dylan... and though her writing is a bit more candy and pop she seems very talented musically.

She doesn't have the pipes of Carrie Underwood but her songs are catchy, rhythmic... very folky.. Not my taste really but I see why she'd so popular... another story teller.

By: Captain Nemo on 2/14/13 at 8:32

I suppose the subject that Raspy wants us to discuss is of himself.

By: Rasputin72 on 2/14/13 at 8:33

NEMO..........You have stated over and over that you are not Rat Nemovitz. If that is true you have never been any closer to me than you are at this minute. I despise trash and trash who spout their vile filth through the voting booth. You are one of those people.

By: yogiman on 2/14/13 at 8:33

You must have been thinking about [scr**ing] the women in the back of your mind that you let Barry screw you into supporting him, gdiafante. And you haven't even 'woke up' yet.

By: Captain Nemo on 2/14/13 at 8:36

Best I remember Raspy old boy you lived sucking off your grandmothers Social Security.

By: Captain Nemo on 2/14/13 at 8:37

Life is like a box of chocolates and Rasputin is an empty box.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 8:37

It's killing him that you have his number and he can't figure out who you are, Nemo! LOL! What a sissy whiner.

By: Rasputin72 on 2/14/13 at 8:38

Blanketnazi......Your academic life ended with high school. I know and you know it.

As always my focus on this forum is to promote class warfare which was perfected by Barack Hussein Obama. Now that I have ignited you ruts I will be off to the good life.

Scream and howl from your bed or clinic or hospice or your rented room until I return.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 8:39

LOL - whatever, Ray. You can "perceive" yourself as wealthy if it gets you through the night. I'll roll down the window and toss you a dollar the next time I see you out and about.

By: Captain Nemo on 2/14/13 at 8:40

I am on my way to Atlanta again. I am driving this time, so I need to get back on the road.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 8:40

Drive safe, Nemo. :)

By: Captain Nemo on 2/14/13 at 8:42

So fat you have failed in your endeavors Raspy old boy. First you should get some class, instead of spreading your crap.

By: gdiafante on 2/14/13 at 8:42

Yawn. Raspy is an admitted troll, a liar and proven scoundrel. He's right, we do give him too much attention. Consider that corrected.

By: Captain Nemo on 2/14/13 at 8:44

shb far not so fat.

But thinking back Raspy was on the heavy side, from the lack of activity.

By: Captain Nemo on 2/14/13 at 8:45

Thank Blanket, I will.

By: yogiman on 2/14/13 at 8:46

Well, B2,

Unlike you I worked at night (in Nashville) and went the school in Murfressboro during the day. I had a room on campus to get a nap before I went to work at night then go to school when I got off work in the morning.

By: gdiafante on 2/14/13 at 8:46

Ignore the trolls

By: Captain Nemo on 2/14/13 at 8:47

Bull crap, yogi. LOL

By: BenDover on 2/14/13 at 8:48

C'mon Raspy... is it blue blood, family and class privilege ... or hard work, determination and perseverance that made you the man you are?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 8:55

Ben, it's conning women out of money that got Ray where he is. He has an unholy hatred for women.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 8:56

His latest one was Joy here in Nashville.

By: BenDover on 2/14/13 at 8:59

I guess I missed all the back-story Blanket. I did not know Rasp had really been outted.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 9:01

Yes, he really has. He grew up in the Nations and Nemo knew who he was years ago and called him out on it. Even as a teenager he would woo the not-so-good-looking girls in order to get to their money. Classy, huh?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 9:02

Then he shows up here pretending to be wealthy when he has spent his life mooching off vulnerable women.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 9:03

He thinks Nemo is some person named Rat who lived in the neighborhood at the time, which is obviously not Nemo. It irks him that he doesn't know who Nemo is.

By: yogiman on 2/14/13 at 9:07

You can ignore all the "trolls" you wish, gdiafante. You can also understand NCP doesn't have to get your OK of when to open a new subject on this site or what the subject should be. Use that feeble mind and remember... THEY OWN IT!

So to give you a little new "stuff" to learn from, try these. They are 6 posting on your man Barry.

On to more important things.

Ben, do you think Rubio is the new face of the Republican party or do you view that as just spin?

By: bfra on 2/14/13 at 9:21

Blanket - If Rubio is, the repubs are in worse shape than it has appeared.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 9:25

Yeah, that's the opinion of some.

By: budlight on 2/14/13 at 9:27

Well, it's St. Valentine's Day. Thanks for the well wishes to G, Ask, Ben and Blanket. All is well and will be OK.

I wish they would put up a new post. In the meantime, what about Dr. Benjamin Carson being the "new face" of the entire country, regardless of political party. Sounds good to me.

And I correct myself. The killer in LA didn't set the fire. The tear gas (or whatever it's called) ignited the fire. BUT it would not have been necessary if the monster had not invaded the home. Home invasion is not nice. Fortunately the owners of another home that he tied up, got away. They have spoken out. OK, got to eat a good hearty breakfast and walk the dog. Have fun and be sweethearts - to each other.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 9:28

Their filibuster of Hagel will be interesting.

By: budlight on 2/14/13 at 9:29

New Topic: I read where the mother of the 6-year old kidnapped from the bus, had already decided to forgive him (kidnapper) and believed he meant no harm to her son. She thinks because her son fainted when he saw the bus driver shot, that is why the man took him - to help him. Has anyone read or heard that story and what's your take on it?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 9:30

No, that's news to me.

By: bfra on 2/14/13 at 9:39

I thought the child was 5, but in the pictures, he didn't look that old. Regardless, just thankful the child wasn't physically harmed & hope he can return to a normal life.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 9:40

Yeah, me too. The police did a good job getting him out of the situation physically unharmed. Kudos to them!

By: bfra on 2/14/13 at 9:41

Blanket - Raspy must have had a little gin left from last nite. He seems to be feeling something this AM & I don't think it is oats. LOL

Still say, he is good for nothing but a laugh.

By: BenDover on 2/14/13 at 9:50

Everybody's damaged goods before they even open their mouth anymore Blanket because the majority of the population is willing to believe the polarizing spin against anyone conservative. They take fragments to discredit the whole, amplify it with the media... and it plays out among the followers like the fans of WWE chanting 'KILL HIM!', 'MURDER HIM!'...

It's all quite absurd.

I don't know how it can be undone really.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 9:50

He's so whiney. He thinks no one else has ever worked hard, only him. He's just mad at the world that he wasn't born wealthy. What a wanker.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 9:51

Ben, the same thing can be said about the spin about liberals. There's false statements posted on this board every day. It's polarizing and it's not just against conservatives. I'm not sure how it can be undone either.

By: BenDover on 2/14/13 at 9:52

And how did you form that opinion, Blanket?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 2/14/13 at 9:52

Which opinion?

By: BenDover on 2/14/13 at 9:55

mad at the world wanker.
