Up for Debate: U.S. military option in Syria

Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 12:26am

The Pentagon has reportedly detailed U.S. options for intervening in the Syrian civil war. To what extent should the U.S. get involved beyond its current role of supplying weapons to rebels? Is further involvement warranted or should the U.S. avoid it as much as possible?

Interesting, it seems that everyone is in agreement on this board, yet the posters gang up to insult someone on the same side of the issue.

Alas, bfra, I'm still waiting on one of you brilliant minded experts to give me he facts. Like your man Barry, you refuse to give any facts you claim to know.

Tell me, do you know what a "font" is in writing, bfra? In case you don't, it's the character of a letter in our alphabet. So why has so many experts stated some of the fonts used in Barry's fake birth certificate were not in use in 1961?

And why did the experts find that nine pages were used to make that "birth certificate"? Mine only took one page to copy. How many pages had to be used to print your original certificate?

Yogi's a birther. "nuff said.

By: yogiman on 7/23/13 at 8:36

B2,

Unlike you, and many others, I never go into WalMart unless I can't find what I need at a local business. We owe China enough on our loans from them, to hell with giving them profits on the junk materials.

And by the way, B2, who was in office (the Oval Office) when American businesses began moving to China for cheap labor?

By: Captain Nemo on 7/23/13 at 8:37

If Comrade yogi is in agreement with the human race, it is purely accidental.

By: Kosh III on 7/23/13 at 8:41

"And by the way, B2, who was in office (the Oval Office) when American businesses began moving to China for cheap labor?"

Reagan and Bush41. Not to mention that Nixon went to China.
Funny how the avowed "capitalists" are so in love with Marxists and then turn around and make (baseless) accusations of communism towards OUR President.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/23/13 at 8:42

Tell the truth Comrade yogi. You never get any farther than a mile from your house. So your 9:36 post means nothing, but then none of your post mean anything.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/23/13 at 8:45

What do you expect from a North Korean agent, Kosh? Surly not reality's . LOL

Hahaha, libertine... try saying you're FOR gay marriage but don't think it's a civil rights issue to be decided by a judge.

That sh!t riles them up more than saying Bush was a patriot who selflessly served his country as president; or that Judeo / Christian values are a keystone of our Republic.

By: yogiman on 7/23/13 at 8:49

Just what is a "birther", gdiafante? I may be one in you way of thinking, but I consider myself an American, devout on saving this great nation against any usurper.

Did you just think you would follow your oath only while you was in service when you was sworn into the Marines?

Aren't any of you curious why Barry refuses to prove his constitutional eligibility for that office? It's extremely unknown to have an Indonesian citizen in our Oval Office until Barry usurped it with Congress' approval.

Call me what you wish, but if you was a true Marine, you had better stay awake and alert, gdiafante.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/23/13 at 8:56

More North Korean propaganda from the Village idiot. If the President was anything like you say he is, you would have been silent a long time ago.

BTW there is no way you are an America.

By: gdiafante on 7/23/13 at 8:56

Or that ten stones in a straight line were placed there by an omnipotent divinity...

That's my favorite.

By: bfra on 7/23/13 at 9:16

Nemo I agree with your 9:56AM comment 100%! A true American would not post all the lieing nonsense this troll has put on this board.

Wait.... judges are good again. I give up.... first they're bad, that they're good, then they're bad again, and then good...... bad, good, bad, good....

For Gods sake, make up your mind Ben!!!

Another little piece of crap about your beloved president, kids. Do any of you know what D-Day means?

It means on June 6, 2013 it was 69 years ago when the beaches of Normandy were stormed by 200,000 American troops to begin the final push to defeat Germany in WWII and 6,000 soldiers were killed on that invasion.

In the past 69 years, the US president has honored those men with a visit to that memorial except on 4 occasions.

After he was "sworn in" in 2009, Barry observed that privilege. But he always had something else on that day in 2010, 2011, 1012 and 2013. What did he do instead of honoring those men?

On June 6, 2010 - He had no events scheduled. He just didn't go to honor those men.

On June 6, 2011 - He met with the National Security team and was interviewed by WEWS of Cleveland OH and WDIN in Detroit about the auto industry. Of course that was more important than honoring those men.

On June 6, 2012 - He made a campaign trip to California on Air Force 1 (at our expense) to raise funds for (his) upcoming election.

On June 6, 2013 - He made another fund raiser with multimillionaires in the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in Palo Alto CA... once again at our expense

I guess it's worth more for him to "reusurp" that office than honor the men that gave their lives for him to be there. That's probably why he likes to clasp his hand over his crotch instead of over his heart when he keeps his mouth shut during the Pledge of Allegiance to that 'piece of cloth'.

Nothing stereotypical about this statement....

By: bfra on 7/23/13 at 9:33

The Brainless blob doesn't even know what honor is! Why should he, he doesn't have any.

By: bfra on 7/23/13 at 9:36

brrrrk - Yogi just thinks it is over his crotch because yogi can't get his mind out of the anal area as noted in his many, many comments referring to that area, un-necessarily.

By: yogiman on 7/23/13 at 9:37

I wish I know how to forward this email I received. It's hilarious. It shows a flight of jets "honoring" the USA usurper when he was making his "official" visit to England on Downing St.

You have to 'squint' your eyes but you can read it like it is... and they're telling Barry to "f@@k off". I wonder in he read it right?

By: brrrrk on 7/23/13 at 9:40

Here's a question.... where has the NRA been during this whole Martin/Zimmerman affair? One would have thought that they would have come forward with a statement saying that if Martin would have been armed, he could have defended himself against another armed individual.

Hmmmm, just what could it be that caused the NRA to remain so silent? .... hmmm, just what could it be about this case that makes it different...... what could it be (scratches head and wonders)? ;-)

By: bfra on 7/23/13 at 9:44

NRA spokesperson might not have room in their mouth for another foot!

You do know that, much like this picture, Donald Duck isn't real? There is no such thing as a duck that speaks English and runs around in a sailor suit, right?

The obfuscation and hysteria surrounding the Zimmerman case is something that no white man or gun advocate dare approach. It's the Ebola virus of political correctness.

By: bfra on 7/23/13 at 9:58

yogi, so many times has claimed to be such a good shot with a gun, now admits he has to squint to see! LOL
yogi on the gun range: Eh! Buddy - Move that target a lil closer, say about 40 ft. closer.

BULL!! They passively agreed with the outcome and the verdict....

By: gdiafante on 7/23/13 at 10:03

I think it's illegal for a minor to own a handgun. That may explain it. Then again, it's Florida so they may allow anyone 1 and older to own a gun.

By: bfra on 7/23/13 at 10:03

brrrrk - I was wonder where that wild hair idia Ben had came from!

s/h/b idea

By: BenDover on 7/23/13 at 10:07

The outcome of Trayvon dying sucked. The verdict of a man defending himself from assault and being acquitted for self defense was proper.

By: BenDover on 7/23/13 at 10:14

On a similar note, as a PSA to the thugs roaming around out there wanting 'justice': the new S&W .357 Magnum model 686 revolver has 7 rounds rather than 6 now. That is all.

By: yogiman on 7/23/13 at 10:14

brrrrk,

Have you wondered why why Barry brought the Oval Office and AG into this one incident? Could it only have been because if he had a son he would be like Trayvon Martin whom he would be proud of?

Why isn't the federal government in all cases when someone gets killed?

By: yogiman on 7/23/13 at 10:18

I'm still waiting for you to prove me to be lying, bfra. Of all your accusation, why haven't you at least proved at least one little iota of a lie I've posted on your man Barry?

By: bfra on 7/23/13 at 10:20

Yeah Ben it takes a lot of self defense against a bag of skittles! Those skittles absolutely scare me to death! Really am laughing my a** off!

By: bfra on 7/23/13 at 10:21

Brainless blob, because you can't understand anything! Too dumb!

By: Libertine on 7/23/13 at 10:23

Why would NRA make some comment about Trayvon being armed?

Zimmerman did nothing illegal committed no unlawful acts.

Trayvon attacked Zimmerman, restrained him, and was beating his brains out.

Trayvon's unlawful and violent attack on Zimmerman resulted in his own death.

Zimmerman was unable to retreat or run away and defended himself in the only manner that was available.

By: BenDover on 7/23/13 at 10:27

Maybe you should educate yourself about Purple Drank. Trayvon wasn't the little angel you were told he was. He was in the process of giving Mr. Zimmerman a mma 'beat down' when he got himself shot.

I don't really blame you for not knowing all of this except for your acknowledged propensity of only listening to media outlets that reinforce your predispositions.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/23/13 at 10:28

Trayvon wouldn't have attacked him if were not being followed and feeling threatened. And he wasn't beating Zimmerman's brains out - if he were don't you think Z would have sustained a concussion instead of minor injuries? Zimmerman is strong enough to rescue people from a car wreck but not defend himself?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/23/13 at 10:30

It doesn't matter what Trayvon was doing in other areas of his life. At that point in time he was not doing anything illegal. He was unarmed and walking home from a convenience store - he did nothing suspicious. That's why Holder is questioning Florida's Stand Your Ground law. The law is flawed.

Ben - If Zimmerman had followed orders, he wouldn't have been in that situation. Plus it has been reported so many times how he was gungho on being a cop but couldn't make the grade & the weight of the 2 involved was not as onesided as some like to claim. Zimmerman caused the entire situation & Trayvon got the short end.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/23/13 at 10:34

If Zimmerman hadn't been armed I bet his a$$ would've stayed in the car. His actions were pure vigilanteism.

Absolutely!

By: brrrrk on 7/23/13 at 10:36

Ben,

You really are a pitiful spineless excuse for a man.... like Zimmerman, you're only brave when you're carrying a gun...

By: brrrrk on 7/23/13 at 10:37

That is all.

By: bfra on 7/23/13 at 10:37

Now Zimmerman wants his gun back, boo hoo! He, IMO, should never be allowed to own a gun again, he doesn't have common sense enough to use one.

By: pswindle on 7/23/13 at 10:39

We should have never invaded the Middle East. We can't win because they do not play by the rules.

By: bfra on 7/23/13 at 10:39

brrrrk - Ben doesn't surprise me, he has demonstrated many times that he has no respect of a gun or how to use one.

By: brrrrk on 7/23/13 at 10:44

Honey, I'd love to protect you..... but I left my new S&W .357 Magnum model 686 revolver back in the condo....

By: yogiman on 7/23/13 at 10:49

You should laugh some more, bfra. It wasn't the skittles Trayvon was going to eat; it was what he was going to mix them with.

Why did he attack Zimmerman from behind when he was walking back to his car after he told the 911 clerk where Trayvon was.

Simply put, it he had walked on to his father's girlfriend's house, he would not have died.

And by the way: What do you think of Zimmerman stopping to help pull people out of a SUV that had turned over trapping them in it? A lousy neighbor to have... isn't he? At least in your neighborhood.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/23/13 at 10:51

Maybe Trayvon should have been armed so that he could've protected himself against a vigilante who was stalking him for no good reason.
