Up for Debate: U.S. soldier attacks Afghan civilians

Monday, March 12, 2012 at 12:44am

What does the report of a U.S. Army sergeant methodically attacking Afghan civilians mean for both countries? Does this, coupled with the recent report of Marines urinating on dead bodies, indicate a deeper issue within our military?

So how come this dolt gets an absolute pass on doing four fold everything you rail against Bush about?

Name-calling the President...really? You're no different than those crazy Democrats that trashed Bush on a daily basis. No different.

There is no easy button for ending two quagmires. It is interesting how some whine about being broke yet don't seem to mind throwing trillions away on unwinnable wars.

Honestly, who is the "dolt" here?

We seem to have more than only one dolt, gdiafante. We apparently have a nation full. That is, if you want to call everyone a dolt who is willing to accept someone as their president who's illegally sitting in the office.

The biggest concern today should be about the congress that let this happen. Obama is just one man, he didn't do this by himself.

As I pointed out, gd... this guy spends more in added deficit above trend every 16 months than we spent on both wars combined in 10 years. Add to that a half trillion in TARP repayments... g-o-n-e...

He's 4 times worse than Bush in this regard and illustrates, by maintaining status quo in the war on terror, that all the rest of his criticisms of Bush were just political theater. Given that how do you describe him?

BenDover,

I know you wasn't asking my description of Obama, but I'll volunteer my answer. I describe him as a usurper. There is too much evidence of his being in that office illegally.

And if he was in fact teaching the Constitution in college, he knew what he was doing.

But the biggest worry should be a congress that let it happen.

BEN DOVER......My father was a ranking officer during WWII. There are civilians and there are "civilians"

What do you think war and killing are all about? Do you think this thing in Afghanistan and Irag is some sort of board game?

I certainly do not advocate killing civilians but I think war is a very complex and and mentally deranged affair. Were it not for the liberals who are now flocking to the press corp you would never have heard about this.

I would bet that these people were either pseudo civilians or the army volunteer just snapped and became mentally unstable.

gdiafante........I read your description of the make-up of a Republican voter. Some of what you say is true. Some of course is your bias.

What do you think of my description of a democratic voter. Someone who is envious of the rich ,someone who is on welfare and someone who has been in the lower income brackets all his life. Someone who sees all of the ads on TV appealing to those with lots of discretionary income and has no idea how people can afford such luxuries.

By the way, these people I have mentioned are going to have an effect on this country unlike nothing since WWII. Unfortunately it will lead to anarchy.

I've got to add raspy to the yogi league now; but I'm really not sure why otherwise intelligent people want to ignore the points in favor of things they want to believe. Brrrrk, Loner, Nemo, gd, D'argent... I'm not stupid. know your enemy is a starting point I guess...but wtf? $1,000,000,000,000 over the trend-line in deficit every year since election guys? wow. No matter your political lean... that's whacked.

You forgot to add bfra, BenDover. They're pretty much an even half-dozen. They have to be dumbasses to be a democrat to so willingly accept someone as their president when they don't even know who the man is. And especially one who is so unwilling to identify himself.

And with Loner and gdiafante being veterans, that amazes me. They must have been in different services in a different era than I.

As the old saying goes: The proof is in the pudding.
