Rice did the best job. Paul sprewed one lie after another. They will do anything to win. Mitt and Paul are about as mean as any two politcians that I can remember.

By: Rasputin72 on 8/30/12 at 4:17

I have no interest whatsoever in the Republican National Convention.

Brrrk.........I had no idea that you had such a terrific sense of humor.

I read your last paragraph from yesterdays forum. "I have worked as a consultant for many of the Fortune 500 companies and they have paid me well."

Beautiful, just beautiful I laughed until I cried. Now that I know you have such a sense of humor I will look forward to seeing more of it.

By: Ummm... on 8/30/12 at 4:27

The Teapublican ticket knows that its voters are the most ignorant citizens in the country- they have therefore made a calculated decision to openly lie about anything and everything, secure in the knowledge that the folks who will be voting for them simply don't know any better.

By: Rasputin72 on 8/30/12 at 4:30

Ummm.............They know enough to have jobs as a general statement. They know enough to realize that they must be responsible for their own destiny. That in itself is enough to differentiate themselves from the democrats whose matra is "free stuff" courtesy of the Republican wage earners.

By: Ummm... on 8/30/12 at 4:39

This "Rasputin" guy (Bigots of America president) is a pretty funny character. He doesn't seem to realize that it is far more plausible that Brrrk has consulted for Fortune 500 companies than that he is a wealthy resident of "Camelot." Obviously the poor soul is someone who doesn't get the attention he feels he deserves, and has created a fictitious online persona to assuage his feelings of inferiority and insecurity.

By: Rasputin72 on 8/30/12 at 4:47

Ummm,,,,,,,,,,,,,What would this board be if it were dominated entirely by people with the same agenda. "Free stuff and more Free stuff and while you are at it make me equal to those that achieved more than I crowd."

It would not be nearly so much fun would it now?

My comments are meant to give you villagers a soul and a justification for your agenda.

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 5:06

I have to admit, I ignored the RNC completely, and instead focused on something that has a far greater impact on my life: preseason football.

I need to prepare myself for fantasy football draft day...

By: dargent7 on 8/30/12 at 5:09

Paul Ryan seems phoney.
Seeing Rice always make me vomit because of her "mushroom cloud" and "imminent danger" b.s. in the lead up to Iraq.
Now she has set her sights on Iran and Syria.
Leadership according to her is thru bombing missions.
What is the fascination with Mr. Blimpie, Christie?
"He's a straight talker..." "He says what's on his mind..." So, what?
Shouldn't all politicians speak honestly, straighforward, and the truth?
Ten bucks he explodes by Nov. 6th. Jackie Gleason was emaciated compared to this guy. He can't even sit fully in a chair.
I might catch 5 minutes of Mittens propaganda tonight.

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 5:15

Then again, I don't need to watch the RNC to already know Mitt...

Hi, I'm Mitt Romney. I'm running for President because I'm a businessman and know how to create jobs. But, I'm not going to talk about my business experience and I don't want anyone to question me on that either, you'll just have to take my word for it.

I'm also a humble, religious family guy that respects the traditional family. Religion plays a great role in my life, but I'm not going to talk about that and I don't want anyone asking me questions on that either, you'll just have to take my word for it.

I have vast experience in public service as well, having been governor of Massachussetts. And even though I devised a public health care scheme, I don't want to talk about it and I don't want anyone asking me questions about it either.

I have a brilliant economic plan to get us back on track and pay off our debt. I'm going to extend the Bush tax cuts, extend loopholes and tax breaks, lower taxes on the rich and make other cuts, but this won't increase the debt. I will make cuts that offset them, but I'm not going to tell you how and I don't want you asking me questions about it either. You'll just have to trust me.

Though I'm a rich, I can relate to the middle class. Even though I've never really experienced hardship, or had to live on a budget, or work more than one job, or raise my kids without help of a nanny, or worry about my kids education, I can relate to you. And even though I have tons of money, I don't need to release any further tax records. But rest assured, I've looked at my returns and can tell you everything's fine. I'm not going to tell you anymore than that and I don't want you asking me anymore questions. You'll just have to trust me.

I'm Mitt Romney and I approve this message.

By: Rasputin72 on 8/30/12 at 5:23

Gdiafante........Obviously I am going to vote for Mitt Romney because as bad of a candidate as he is he more closely represents my politics than does the socialist. Having said that, I cannot take offense or rebuttal to your satire.

It is certainly class warfare at its very best. Neither candidate can do very much about what will certainly happen to this country.

I enjoyed very much reading your post and find it 95% on target.

By: yogiman on 8/30/12 at 5:33

If Romney and Paul are liars, at least they are legal liars running for the office. Sorry I can't say that about Barry. But biden is on the Dumbocratic bunch.

By: yogiman on 8/30/12 at 5:36

Ummm,

I'm afraid I must disagree with you on the dumb side of the aisle. It's you dumbocrats that are so stupid that you are so willing to vote for someone when you don't even know their legal name.

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 5:36

Class warfare is a reality, Raspy. That's the byproduct of supply-side policies. Give to the rich, hope there's some scraps left for everyone else. The other side is no better, give to the poor on the dime of everyone else.

There should be a middle ground, but there isn't. It's a systemic problem and no political rhetoric is going to solve it.

Honestly, before the GOP primaries, I entertained the thought of voting Romney. But if the process has shown us something it's that the guy is phony as a two-dollar bill.

Thanks, but no thanks.

By: Ummm... on 8/30/12 at 5:42

gd- two dollar bills are real.

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 5:46

It's a saying, umm...should have put in quotes I guess...

By: yogiman on 8/30/12 at 5:51

Economy wise, Romney has proven he is much better that Barry. To maintain a legitimate gripe you should at least vote for the lesser of the two evils.

By: dargent7 on 8/30/12 at 5:54

Instead of you guys yelling at each other, name calling, back and forth, day after day, look up some facts. Start with The Huffington Post which will itemize each and every lie Ryan told last night. Then, decide for yourself. It doesn't take any brains to simply pull the RED lever in the voting booth.
And to the eldery fellow who's stuck on 8-Track tapes, still thinks Nixon was a great President, and we won in Vietnam, Iraq, and soon will in Afghanistan:
So, "Mitt" is Willard's real name? Is "Mitt" on his Birth Cert.?
His dad and grandad born in Mexico makes him particulary eligible for office?
Ann's father was born in Wales. Maybe we should "Birth" her?
His great- grandfather having 4 wives, fleeing to Mexico is not noteworthy?
Mormonism is better than an American, albiet nutty, Rev. Wright?
His JD degree from Harvard (never used in court) is better than Obama's professorial teaching credentials?
By the way, Buck Owens and Glenn Campbell are now available on CD.

By: Ummm... on 8/30/12 at 6:08

gd- I think the saying involves a "three dollar bill."

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 6:16

I've heard both, Umm. If we're going to make a federal case about it, people use this because there are so few of them, many think they're counterfeit.

Is there anything else I need to explain...perhaps you disagree with my use of the word "either"? Too much italics? Maybe I should have had a dangling participal or two so that, like Romney, you wouldn't really know what the hell I was talking about...

By: bfra on 8/30/12 at 6:18

d7 - Do you think Mitt is more phoney than the newest troll, Raspy?

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 6:21

How so, yogi? We don't really know about his business experience because it's supposedly off-limit.

And can you tell me where in his experience in Bain he ran a Republic of 300+ million?

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 6:23

s/h/b participle...

By: yogiman on 8/30/12 at 6:28

dargent7,

Look at it in a simple fashion: You know what you got the last four years and unless you was "given to" you know Obama has done a lousy job. So do you want 4 more years of deeper depression?

Simple knowledge should tell you to try someone else now because Barry did a lousy job.

And remarks about Ryan lying... have you even know a politician that didn't lie through their teeth; including Obama and Biden?

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 6:30

Liberal media bias weather update: The Democrat perfected weather machine has dumped over 20 inches of rain in some places of Louisiana. When asked about the storm, Republicans blamed Obama for intentionally disturbing their convention and then for not using the machine to combat drought conditions in the midwest.

Today, the RNC will blame Democrats for the the red storm on Jupiter...which clearly illustrates an evolving platform as some now actually acknowledge that Jupiter exists...which in the past was blamed on the liberal scientific agenda to discredit the notion that the Earth was the center of the universe.

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 6:31

And remarks about Ryan lying... have you even know a politician that didn't lie through their teeth; including Obama and Biden?

Translation: lying is fine when it's my guy...

WWJD?

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 6:32

Simple knowledge should tell you to try someone else now because Barry did a lousy job.

Ironically, this explains how Obama got elected in 2008, which you fail to understand at all.

By: yogiman on 8/30/12 at 6:33

dargent7,

Mitt is Willard Romney's nickname. Barry was Barack Obama's nickname. Barry was given to him as his legal name when he was adopted by his stepfather in Indonesia.

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 6:35

Honestly, who would name their kid "Willard"? Wasn't that the rat guy?

By: dargent7 on 8/30/12 at 6:36

Mittens isn't a phoney IMO. His wife is, for sure.
She has MS, diagnosed in 1998? It's incurable, progressive, and watching her on the stage 15 years after the diagnosed she looked fairly healthy at 63.
I know MD and Parkinson's is diblitating, eg., Michael J. Fox and Steven Hawking sure look like they have something, regardless what that blow-fish Limbaugh has to say.
Mittens problem is that he's filthy rich. Since he was two. He cannot hide the fact.
Lovey never worked a day in her life. Servants, drivers, butlers, gardners, pool boys, op'erhs, nannies, maids.
And the 5 sons never enlisted in any of Mittens wars he championed. Not a one. They've had plenty of chances with Republican warmongers in the W.H. starting in 1991 with the Gulf War.
Real patriots, eh?
They said their job was, "to get our father elected..."
The whole family is plastic.
Between Obama and Romney, you tell me which one is morer in touch with the working middle class?

By: dargent7 on 8/30/12 at 6:38

gD: not to pile on...but, it's "dangling participle".
A participal is that guy who runs a H.S. Some call him a principal.

By: Ummm... on 8/30/12 at 6:39

gd- I don't want to make a federal case of it, however, saying someone is as phony as a two dollar bill would mean the person isn't phony. And despite what you may have heard, I've never heard "two dollar bill" used in that manner until you did so today. That being said, I would emphasize that Romney is, indeed phony- as any non-existant bill you could name.

By: Moonglow1 on 8/30/12 at 6:45

Moonglow1: I did not watch the comedy show known as The RNC brought to you by Adelson and The Kochs.

Speaking of socialism, the Kochs worked in the USSR years ago. The RNC is the largest block of fascist ignorant lying fake individuals in the world. They are vampires willing to suck every last penny from the American public.

Rice is the face of the Bush regime. She and Colin Powell lied about Saddam's mobile labs and weapons of mass destruction. They sucked up all of your money and handed it over to defense contractors. Millions of your tax dollars were actually carried around Iraq in large sacks for payoff's. Yeah, socialism was alive and thriving under Bush: take your money and give it to Blackwater and Lockheed.

Chris Christie is a fat slob who will drop dead of a heart attack and because of his self inflicted obesity his healthcare should not be paid for.

Romney is the grandson of a Mormon who fled the USA to practice polygamy in Mexico. Ryan is a spoiled brat working his way up the ladder to get the VP spot. Although idiots, they are crazy like a fox. Mortgage deductions for the middle class-gone. Healthcare-gone, Police, firefighters-gone, roads and bridges-gone, free education for the masses-gone, rape and incest-too bad.

In-war, government funded tax supported Charter Schools, government funded tax supported insurance companies that will deny you your health care, government funded tax supported oil companies owned by the Kochs, more and more pollution, contaminated water, possible nuclear disaster, elimination of home mortgage deduction, devaluation of our currency, re-writing history, dumb down education, unattainable college degrees for the masses, excessive religion and suppression of women's rights: pregnant, barefoot, and dumb.

By: Ummm... on 8/30/12 at 6:48

Moonglow1- thumbs up for your dead-on post.

By: yogiman on 8/30/12 at 6:49

You had better go back to school, dargent7. Mitt was born in the USA and his parents were US citizens. He is a natural born citizen.

Ann's father came to the USA from Wales. She was born in the USA after he became a naturalized citizen. She was is a natural born citizen.

Who was Barack Obama's actual parents? Where was he born? When you find out please let me know where you got that information.

The question has been raised that Frank Marshall Davis was his father. Compare pictures of Barack, Barack Sr. and Frank Davis. Who does he favor?

Davis was a photographer who loved taking pictures of nude women and Obama's mother was one of his models.

Maybe you should see that 2016 movie or the CD I have titled "Dreams from My Real Father".

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 6:49

No, it's saying that he may be or he may not be, I don't know. But that's enough to send up a red flag for me. That was the point of the entire post.

Like I said, my error was not puting that in quotation marks. Next time I'll make sure to put a footnote as well...

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 6:56

The question has been raised that Frank Marshall Davis was his father. Compare pictures of Barack, Barack Sr. and Frank Davis. Who does he favor?

Really? Since when is "he looks like him" a legitimate argument? I've been told that I look more like my grandfather than my father...oh my god...maybe he's really my father!!

Well, this is Tennessee...

By: Captain Nemo on 8/30/12 at 6:57

I don’t watch any of the conventions, so I don’t have an opinion.

By: yogiman on 8/30/12 at 6:33
If Romney and Paul are liars, at least they are legal liars running for the office. Sorry I can't say that about Barry. But biden is on the Dumbocratic bunch.

His first post of the day and yogi make the ridiculous sound intelligent. When did lying ever become legal?

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 6:58

Lying is legal as long as you're not under oath.

Example: Yogi is intelligent.

There, I lied.

By: Captain Nemo on 8/30/12 at 6:59

Thanks for the weather update gdia. It is informative and precise. LOL

By: Moonglow1 on 8/30/12 at 7:02

Moonglow1: Thank you Ummm...

By: Captain Nemo on 8/30/12 at 7:02

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 7:35
Honestly, who would name their kid "Willard"? Wasn't that the rat guy?

Willard Scott’s parents what where they thinking. ;-)

By: govskeptic on 8/30/12 at 7:06

While I did watch most of the speeches I will defer to those that didn't
but will read their multiple postings containing the many half-truths
that have now been stated over and over for months. I did note that
while the Republicans cancelled Monday nights activities in deference
to the Hurricane, the Commander (and fundraiser) In Chief went
ahead with his Monday afternoon and night fundraising events.

By: Captain Nemo on 8/30/12 at 7:09

In his wild rant, yogi just proves himself an idiot and Obama legal. But don’t tell him LOL

By: yogiman on 8/30/12 at 7:49
You had better go back to school, dargent7. Mitt was born in the USA and his parents were US citizens. He is a natural born citizen.

Ann's father came to the USA from Wales. She was born in the USA after he became a naturalized citizen. She was is a natural born citizen.

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 7:09

Gov, Monday was cancelled not because of "deference to the hurricane" but because Tampa was under warnings...it was about safety. I don't believe Obama was in the storm warning areas, no?

This is the crap I'm talking about...

By: Captain Nemo on 8/30/12 at 7:11

Maybe you should see that 2016 movie or the CD I have titled "Dreams from My Real Father".

It is 2012 and yogi is watching a from 2016? WOW!!

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 7:14

It's propaganda, just like anything from Michael Moore. But, this is acceptable propaganda becasue it reinforces yogi's lunacy. My guess is that the nutjob judge from Texas is a fan too...

By: gdiafante on 8/30/12 at 7:16

For gov:

"It's just a matter of protecting the safety of the delegation and assuring the convention is going smoothly,"

http://www.enstarz.com/articles/5784/20120825/rnc-convention-2012-delayed-until-tuesday-due-to-hurricane-isaac-warnings-still-extremely-excited-gop-spokesman-says.htm

By: Captain Nemo on 8/30/12 at 7:16

gov, are you saying that since the Republican’s cancelled there event, that Obama should have played fair and cancelled his event in a hurricane safe area?

By: Kosh III on 8/30/12 at 7:19

I didn't watch any of the fascist showpiece, nor do I intend to do so tonight.
Since I don't plan to vote for Romney, his religion doesn't matter to me but for all those who, like Yogi, repeat the lie about this being a "Christian" nation, how can they vote for a polytheist? I thought they were soooooo zealous for the 10 Commandments and such.

By: yogiman on 8/30/12 at 7:20

Sorry gdiafante, I'll have to admit you're telling the truth. And early in the morning for you, too.

And I'll have to admit, I don't have the same intelligence capacity as you and most of your fellow posters. It's apparently superior, don't you agree?
