It's time for the Bush administration to tell Congress and the American people the truth. What will the war in Iraq cost, in terms of both money and manpower?

In recent public appearances, the president and his advisors have repeatedly stonewalled on these questions, and the reason for their strategy is clear. If voters knew the true costs of Bush's policies, support for the war effort could suffer a serious setback.

Moreover, it would become obvious that the country simply cannot afford both of the president's top policy aims
