You have to admire [Belmont University's] gall.
First, they drive off their coach and then when they get called on it, Belmont has the nerve to say there were "incorrect media reports." Taking aside whatever legal employment term you wish to use, you fired your coach, probably because of her sexual orientation. That may be your legal right, but you are officially a joke, and a bigoted one, in my opinion at this point. The next time Belmont seeks a zoning/ordinance change or access to city fields, I will encourage my city council member to fight you.

Nice LTE; short and to the point. "Roym" is disgusted by the bigoted actions of Belmont and suggests a method for getting revenge in the future. I agree with Roym.
Belmont is supposed to be an institution of higher learning, based upon Christian principles. If Jesus of Nazareth was a homophobic bigot, Belmont is very Christ-like.
One must wonder how and why a homosexual athletic coach would even apply for a job at a place like Belmont, in the first place. Maybe this is all part of a set-up in which the disgruntled, fired coach can now bring a multi-million-dollar lawsuit against the deep pockets of the bigoted followers of Christ.......sweet.
This is a tough one.
You've got an expensive, high profile, private Christian college in Nashville.
Maybe it was "Don't ask, don't tell'', that she was able to coach and was left alone.
Maybe everyone knew she was gay and had a girlfriend.
But, announcing the happy couple is expecting a baby (?!) was sure to raise eyebrows.
She can sue and make a cool million. Relocate to CA and live happily ever after.
I hear the climate, views, and ocean's better.
Whatever you guys do today, do not mention my Lions lost another game.

As far as the LTE...even though they aren't associated officially with the Baptists anymore, much of the culture still remains, so it shouldn't really be a shock that they would react this way to a homosexual coach.

Answer: To test the water; get fired and get rich. I smell a law suit down the pike. And the "disgruntled, fired coach" is probably celebrating right now. Eventually, we'll be a gay, muslim country and non-gays will have to keep it a secret. ha, ha, just joking.

In today’s warped minds, some of those who practice homosexuality and Lesbian activity appear a desire to “cram it down our throats”. Golly, that sounds more like what I have been saving about political issues supported by the Obama/Reid/Pelosi team.

In the opinion of many football fans, self-included, they both paid their dues.
Say what you wish, when it comes to a stoic performance, in the face of multiple adversities, Big Ben is a true champion....you cannot take that away from the man.
