I'm not saying [Cortland Finnegan] is an angel, but talking trash and getting under the skin of a receiver is part of his position. I have looked at the “punch” sequence [involving Andre Johnson] in slow motion and it was not impressive. That is why Finny was smiling. He should not have been ejected, but penalized for a hand to the facemask. Aggressive play is what it takes. The media thinks Johnson can do no wrong, but they forget when he swung Finny to the ground by his facemask last year and was fined for it. Johnson looked like a fool both times.

The "punch sequence" looked pretty impressive to me.
Both players ripped the helmets off the other, so both had to go.
Johnson has 100# on "Finny".
Whenever I got, and get physical with someone, I alsways made sure they were either blind or in a wheelchair.
Just being smart.

Oops! Sorry, I was overly excited.
d7 walks into a nursing home, with a pair of brass knuckles...
That post is ridiculous. Titan1 is a team apologist.
Finnegan has to instigate to mask his pitiful covering skills. Johnson is considered one of the best receivers in the game. Most people look at the episode and laugh...at Finnegan.
Take note though, this will be a trivia question in twenty years..."remember that idiot on the Titans that got beaten down by Johnson...what was his name?"
By chance, there was a NFL "Greatest Game" on last night...The Atlanta Falcons v. Minn. Vikings. (maybe 12 years ago).
Randall Cunningham was the Vikings QB and Moss was the WR, as was Chris Carter.
Moss made all these incredible catches.
Why aren't the Titans USING him? Our regular guys tend to stink.
That was the 98 NFC championship game. The Vikings were supposed to win it all that year but the "dirty birds" ruined the party. Then they got demolished by the Broncos in the Super Bowl.
The 49ers could have won the game last night if it wasn’t for their plane having to leave early. lol
Hey, whatever happened to those two teams who had to play in Detroit Monday? No one's seen or heard from them, since.
It's hard to believe that the 49ers, with NINE losses, are not only in the playoff hunt, could win the division.
Just saw that Blake Edwards died Weds. (88). The Pink Panther w/ Peter Sellers rivalled The Three Stooges and Marx Brothers, IMO.
Leslie Neilsen was up there, too.
No Curly, but Peter and Leslie were funny as hell.
Am I being off-topic?
I'm just tickled Bret Farve is OFF the field. Hopefully for good.
And where's VY? Guy just got a $4.5 million "bonus"....still pouting?
What a jack-ass.
I can't wait for the Monday night game between Vikings and Bears...in UM's stadium...I hear the temp is going to be zero...Oh I hope Favre starts...
RIP Mr. Edwards
gD: Since I'm imported from the North, and don't quite yet understand southern ways, why didn't the Titans draft Jay Cutler over this sissy, VY?
Because Bud Adams wanted VY. That's why Fisher has always resented VY. He didn't want him.
I don't think Fisher resents VY, he just knows VY is not Pro QB material.
Finnegan has stopped many, many pass completions that possibly would have ended in a TD. He plays his position very well! g - maybe you would like to stand up to Johnson. Time & place, so we can all be there.
What a child-like response, bfra.
And no, Finnegan has been burned quite a bit. .
g - just responding to your pessimistic comments, on just about every subject. Do you ever enjoy anything about life?
I was surprised that they received such a small fine, but I suppose that is what is expected in America now days.
I'm being honest. Finnegan isn't that good. Neither are the Titans. Waving your pom-poms isn't going to change that.
By the way...nuke the fairgrounds.
They both should have been heavily fined and suspended. Finnegan one game, Johnson two.
But everything is political...the NFL needed Johnson for the Thursday game.
g - By the way...nuke the fairgrounds.
===================================
This from someone that calls a response "child-like"!
I wonder if ''Finny'' has regained his hearing yet? Those knuckle bombs to the side of the head smart. It was just like when you roughed that guy up at the Starlite bfra.
slacker - I didn't have to rough any guy up, his buddies took care of that, when he stepped over the line.
Glad you got it, bfra. I didn't think you would.

g - Your sarcasm isn't all that subtle!

Pessimist just don't have any fun, anywhere!
Off subject - That other publication, that claims to be a "newspaper", has a poll about the Fairgrounds, offering 3 options for what Karl wants and 1 for other. If you vote other, your vote isn't registered. This must be another Kerr hair-brained idea.
Now back to the pessimist vs optimist comments! LOL
gD has "Moonlight Sonata" as his ringtone. He's alright in my book.
On the other hand, 'Loner" has The Beatles' "Revolution #9" as his, played backwards.
I don't even want to know what "Nemo" or "House" has.
I have the one that defaulted with the phone purchase, like, "my father carried around the picture of the kid that came with the wallet"...Rodney Dangerfield
d7 - That explains it! Moonlight Sonata is great for listening, but a ringtone? g needs something to add a little lift, often.
I'm going to tell you anyway, d7.
My ringtone is set to vibrate. wink wink
Actually, I removed that ring tone a long time ago. Now it's Mozart's Serenade No. 10.
Well, ok. But, no matter what, I always stick up for ex-Marines.
I'm just an ex-college student. Pales in comparison.
bfra: I need a little lift. You single?
d7 - Do you look like Richard Gere & got loads of money?
lol bfra
This sort of says it all, doesn't it?

Darge, I just saw that Washington is benching McNabb in favor of...Rex Grossman.
How freakin' bad do you have to be to be benched for that guy??
If fundamentalists had their way in this country.....
"Earlier this year Millicent Gaika, a 30-year-old South African woman, was tied up, beaten, strangled, tortured and raped for five hours by a man as he screamed that he would “cure” Millicent of her lesbianism.
Ndumie Funda, a local community activist whose lesbian partner was murdered in the course of a similar “corrective rape,” reached out to Millicent through a small local charity she set up to rescue and support survivors of “corrective rape.” But last month they both had to go into hiding after the South African government released the perpetrator they had helped to jail on 60 rand (less than $10) bail."
And it's right here in Tennessee....
"An American judge has been accused of advocating corrective rape for lesbians.
Joe Rehyansky, a part-time magistrate and Vietnam veteran, wrote on conservative news site The Daily Caller that lesbians should be allowed to serve in the military because straight male soldiers could 'convert' them.
Mr Rehyansky, of Hamilton County, Tennessee, argued that men were naturally more promiscuous than women and 'it fell to men to swing through the trees and scour the caves in search of as many women as possible to subdue and impregnate – a tough job but someone had to do it'. "
Mr Rehyansky's final argument was as follows: “My solution would get the distaff part of our homosexual population off our collective ‘Broke Back,’ thus giving straight male GIs a fair shot at converting lesbians and bringing them into the mainstream.”
look out all you lesbians in Hamilton County.... this guys on the loose!
bfra: Gere? No. More like Marty Feldman in, "Young Frankenstein".
You girls want good looks and money too? When'd that all change?
I always thought you wanted intelligence and sense of humor.
Now, it's cash only?

Reminds me of Redd Foxx. He was on the Tonight Show one night and the topic of his newest (and very young) wife came up. Johnny asked something like, "So, how's an old guy like you end up with a young beautiful wife?". Redd replied without missing a beat, "I don't know. I just opened my wallet and there she was."
brrrrk: Speaking of Johnny, he was interviewing Arnold Palmer's wife the night before a big tournament. He asked what she did to give him good luck.
"I rub his balls"...He quipped, "That's enough to straighten out any man's putter"...
Am I off topic, yet?

Yes, thank God. I'm so tired of the Titans soap opera...... or as I like to call it, "The Young And The Spoiled".
brrrk your 1:24 post is disturbing and I can not agree more. There are those on the right that will do anything to have control of every living being in this country.
I would say Go Green Bay but I want this time, because dargent but a curse on GB last week. :-(
Rogers was my starting fantasy QB...this year is shot all to hell now.
