Rusty Smith seems to have had one chance. And when that didn't go well, he was thrown under the bus. If [Tennessee Titans’] staff are missing that badly on evaluating him and training him, what does that say about our ability to find and coach an NFL-caliber quarterback? Personally, I hope Smith goes somewhere else and develops into a really nice quarterback.

No, he wasn't thrown under the bus. He was recognized for what he is: a green rookie quarterback who had had little chance to develop, thrown into a relief situation where he showed some sparks but eventually did what rookies do: he threw unwisely and got intercepted. His first NFL start was punctuated with rookie mistakes. There were no surprises, which comes as no surprise to me.

Franchise Pro-Bowl future-Hall-of-Fame QB's usually don't come out of a can ready to go. There are 99 Rusty Smith's for each Peyton (Miss) Manning.

If Rusty Smith had all the petting & pampering that VY got, he would probably have been more ready as a QB.
