Carbon offset? I'm no expert, but I know a way that would reduce air pollution more than either of these [free downtown parking] plans: Do away with all parking downtown. Make it against the law to drive a private vehicle in downtown Nashville unless you live downtown. The only way to get downtown would be to ride a bus, cab, train, bicycle, skateboard or roller skates — or walk/run/crawl. Laugh all you want, but you can't tell me it wouldn't make our air healthier to breath. This may sound stupid to some of you, and you’re right. But it's no more stupid than the other two plans.

French dude pulls up to a gay piano bar on a Boulevard S-40.....?

What about a Harley hog, they don't think that hurts the little piggie's feelings?

By: Loner on 1/6/11 at 4:16

Excellent point, Bfra.....no respect.

By: Loner on 1/6/11 at 4:18

And the Harley "Fat Boy".....no respect for obese men' ironically, that's their primary market - go figure.

Michelle Obama pulls into a McDonald's on a Harley Fat Boy.......?

One of the first Atomic bombs was named Fat Boy. The Japanese didn't go on about it.

By: slacker on 1/6/11 at 4:27

Whats that falling out of the sky? Why it looks like a Fat Bo---------------

By: bfra on 1/6/11 at 4:34

Loner - IMO, she would look good, as always, bare arms included. Again, IMO, the people complaining about her wearing sleeveless outfits, are just jealous because they don't have the arms to wear them.

No offense Darge, Just some WW2 politically incorrect jocularity.

Now old yogi chimes in. Could he be one too?

Lt. NEMO, no, you must be ONE, cause you are the ONE and only who brings it up. Now go back to bed. You need your rest.

By: slacker on 1/6/11 at 4:44

bfra, some might consider that an affront to women with dinner-lady arms.

Gee, does that Tea Party know this about their new "Weeper of the House"

Matt Taibbi: The Crying Shame of John Boehner

House, you are crackin' me up.

The First lady would look damn good on a Harley Fat Boy...in leather chaps and knee-high steel-toed jack boots. I'd climb on her bitch pad myself.

Boehner's crying jags may become a national embarassment, if they have not already become so. Crying jags now...what's next, alcoholic incontinence? And this guy represents the party of choice for today's fundamentalist Christians? They tolerate their own, I suppose.

Argo >> It has been almost a year since I even came to this paper and you are still the dum'arse you were then and your intellegence level has not went up a single rung. Whether you know it or not you are the reason most everyone quit this paper. Just keep it up and eventually you will be writing by your self.

If Boehner goes down, does Eric Cantor step up to the Speaker position? If so, Boehner's days as Speaker may be relatively short.

Cantor is very ambitious and he is very intelligent. Cantor is young and good-looking and rational-sounding; he would be a formidable contender for the 2012 Presidential Smack-Down. Of all the GOP potential Republican Presidential candidates out there, Eric Cantor would, IMO, be the best choice to win over the growing number of disenchanted Democrats and independents..

If I were advising Obama, I'd tell him to keep an eye on Rep. Cantor and prepare for a possible 2012 challenge, with Cantor as GOP standard-bearer.

Can't seem to be able to log in on anything newer than this board. Either this is a glitch, or I'm banned...again. I sent the NCP an Email about this. Perhaps I have worn out my welcome....if so, I'll just mosey on.

Well, I was able to post freely, for a short while today, then at 10:30 this morning, I was sudden;y unable to gain access again. For some reason, I am still logged in on this particular thread; but unable to post anywhere else.

This was not a LTE. It was a response to an article. If your going to use it for a LTE, post all of it. Here is the complete post.

Carbon-Offset? Oh God!

Look, I'm no expert, but I know a way that would reduce air pollution more than either of these plans.

Do away with all parking downtown. Make it against the law to drive a private vehicle in downtown Nashville, unless you live downtown. The only way to get downtown would be to ride a bus, cab, train, bicycle, skateboard, roller skates, or walk/run/crawl. Laugh all you want, but you can't tell me it wouldn't make our air healthier to breath. This may sound stupid to some of you, and your right, but it's no more stupid than the other two plans.

What is wrong with you people? Wake up! Open your eyes! Do what you were elected to do! Stop the insanity! Holy crap, give me some aspirin!
