Own words used against him
Hey, Dick Cheney: You protest President Obama "criminalizing" your administration's actions — did Nixon and Hitler teach you nothing?
Outing CIA agents, warrantless wire-tapping and torture are crimes! You actually want memos released proving torture yielded information? All Republicans just don't get it; the ends don't justify the means.
You say we can't safely imprison terrorists, well if any Democrats are saying that, you'd call it unpatriotic! Why talk all over TV anyway, but not before Congress under oath, when as vice president you were nowhere?
The Democrats won. If you can't take it, go crying back into your hole, you typical Republican hypocrite. As your kind used to say, support the President.

A dynamic letter Andrew and telling it just like it is.
Good morning.
Yes it is a good letter. However the Rat party will disagree.
In a cave somewhere in Afghanistan the Radical Arabian Terrorist (RAT)is plotting to destroy America.
In a subbasement somewhere In America, the Radical American Terrorist(RAT) is plotting to destroy America.
Cheney, with his daughter furnishing as backup, on the talk show circuit is disgusting. The guy was always "at an undisclosed location" during the Bush presidency. Now he's on TV every week disparaging Obama. Between Bush and Cheney, I can't decide who is the actual anti-Christ.
How long do you leftys thing you can cover up for barry blaming everything on Bush/Cheney?
You picked a man that hates the country and doing the best he can to destroy it.
id: Obama "hates the country and is trying to destroy it"....did you listen to him in Cario and Paris over the weekend? For a 47 year old to be able to deliver those speeches was amazing. If Bush wasn't talking about the threat of terrorism, "keeping America safe", he was dead in the water. And the "war in Iraq" WAS and IS a "war of choice". Obama nailed it.
Yes I did. He believes the hype that he is the messiah.
It isn't hype. I'm a few years older than Obama and have NO idea what I could say regarding D-Day, Normandy, and WWII. I was still breast feeding....I think.
J. Andrew Smith, 07003: "The Democrats won. If you can't take it, go crying back into your hole, you typical Republican hypocrite. As your kind used to say, support the President."
Seems like you're the one who can't let it go. You, like most demlibs, can only gripe, carp, and complain about the past because you have absolutely no idea how to prepare for the future.
"How long do you leftys thing you can cover up for barry blaming everything on Bush/Cheney?"
Just as long as you folks were able to blame the Clintons. Heck! You're still blaming all of Bush's many screwups on the Clintons.

Amazing. That's just what I was thinking...
...in reverse.
...I think this is the day Loner comes out of his depression.
Seems that the libs want to talk about anything except current issues. The situation with North Korea is getting more serious, GM owned by the government (Obama doesn't want to run the company but Congress calls them on the carpet), healthcare to be funded with more "tax the rich", Federal reserve saying the financial stimulus having the opposite effect on rates, etc, etc, etc.
I listened to Cheney's remarks, and it seems to me he was telling his side of it after being publicly attacked.
He said three people were water boarded, and this was done after other techniques failed. He also said that the information obtained, prevented attacks that would have killed many. He also said there are documents that back this up.
Yeah, "he said, she said". Of the three waterboarded, one was done 183 times, another 82 times. At what point do they tell you whatever you want to hear? These "terrorist detainees" have been locked up on Cuba for 6 years. Think they're in "the loop"? Heck, G HW Bush was VP under Reagan and said he "wasn't in the loop" with the Iran-Contra scandal. And the guy was an office away from the president's. Let 'em go to a max prison on the mainland. I'd rather room with a "jihadist" than the typical American psycho that killed his parents.
Most political pundits (with the exception of those on Fox and their sycophants) will tell you that Cheney is attempting to rewrite the history of the Bush administration; putting a shine on a turd if you will. Frankly, what I see is a desperate man living in fear; a man who is afraid of living the rest of his life in a jail cell. Which, if you think about it, might explain why Cheney's daughter, Liz, is so tenaciously defending her fathers position. But then one has to wonder, where's the other daughter... Mary?
Mary, as an outted lesbian, cannot come to Dickey's defense.
brrrrk, if Cheney is attempting to rewrite history, I'm sure you would agree that the documents that Cheney refers to, should be released to prove his denials are bogus.
Out of curiosity, how many here believe this tax increase will ONLY be for the rich? Or that the rich will not depart the area and the tax burden will shift to the middle class?
Just curious.

Crap! I was hoping they had projected this out correctly. It's worse than they thought it would be. Of course, the threat of higher taxation of businesses and wealthy people causing a drying up of capital and causing their threatened departure from the country isn't helping either, IMO.

Ok...this is all well and good...but what happens when the stimulus money runs out? I'm more concerned about stable jobs from the private sector myself.
I hope this will do something for the private sector.

One DOES have to wonder how long the two remaining American automakers will be able to continue. Will THEY be required to be sold off as well???
Blanket,
Good for you! Everyone should know where they stand on issues.
Well, at least Obama's economic advisors aren't worried about the economy. I sincerely hope they are right.

Maybe Obama will sell GM to China to pay off a little debt.
Me...I'm wishy-washy. I'll take the other side shortly.
Oh and one more thing out of this story...WHY would someone who has adequaate financial resources to pay for their own health care be penalized with a tax? That makes NO sense to me at all.
FTA: "It would probably exempt those who can prove they can’t find an affordable policy. There could be a tax penalty for those with adequate financial resources who don’t elect to get insurance, according to the outline. "

First of all chief, I know of no one on the left that is "Pro-abortion". And secondly, no one should be tortured... even this nutcase that shot Tiller.
You see chief, most of us on the left don't have a morality that floats around like a leaf in the wind... unlike some on the right. And in spite of what you think, there are those of us on the left (even those who are not religious) that firmly embrace the teachings and philosophy of Christ (as well as many other faiths) but refuse the buy into the dogma. It's not about what you do or where you go on Sunday, or even what you say; It's about what you do for your fellow man. So, as far as the treatment of the man who shot Tiller is concerned... I choose to turn the other cheek.
This is interesting. I would assume he had nothing to do with interrogations of suspects if Obama nominated him (after all he was vetted by Obama's team) - so one has to wonder if there was something else he was worried about.

good point, brrrrk, regarding the stance as NOT being pro-abortion, but pro-choice.
Sounds like semantics nazi.
Myth: The president wants to raise my taxes.
Making the myth even more ridiculous is that even with Obama's tax raise on the wealthy, the top tax rate in the nation will still be far lower than it was during the reign of Ronald Reagan, that great beacon of conservative economic policy.
http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2009/06/08/obama_myths/index3.html
no, not necessarily, slacker. saying one is "pro-abortion" gives the impression that one is fine with abortion being used as a form of birth control. "Pro-choice" gives a different connotation.
brrrrk,
I don't know...seems the ones with Planned Parenthood seem to be Pro-abortion to me.
Myth: The president wants to raise my taxes.
Cap and Trade will dramatically increase energy costs, healthcare must raise taxes, but money to pay people to buy cars and houses is just printed (quadrupled deficit from last year).
The result will be the same - higher cost of living for all Americans.
how so, chief?
Planned Parenthood is kind of an oxymoron.
yes it is, house.

Blanket,
Again, I refer you to history. The FIRST income tax was in created in 1913, with Congress passing a new income tax law with rates beginning at 1 percent and rising to 7 percent for taxpayers with income in excess of $500,000. Less than 1 percent of the population paid income tax at the time.
Now EVERYONE pays income tax. So how long do you suppose the rise in the tax rate will take before everyone's tax rate goes up? Whether Obama WANTS to raise the tax rate on the middle class or not is irrelevant. When you raise the rate on one, it almost inevitably rises for the others, sooner or later.
Talk about conspiracy theories:
