Reconsider this

With as many active duty military personnel as we have in Tennessee, by what he said on the Senate Floor June 9, state Senator Jim Kyle — who is "moving in the direction" of a campaign for Governor — should reconsider.

A bill Kyle opposed permitted active duty military parents (merely) to petition a court to allow them while they are away on active duty, if they're under a court order to assign their parenting time (for their own child) over to a close relative or individual, if that person is included as part of the petition and is deemed by the Court to be in the child's best interest. But Jim Kyle's position, as stated on the Senate floor was, “these people need to learn to work out their own problems.”

This past month, Fort Campbell staged a general troop stand-down to investigate why active duty military personnel are experiencing abnormally high rates of suicide. Men already experience a death by suicide rate four times greater than women in Tennessee.

Despite his offensive diatribe, the bill passed the Senate but Sen. Kyle has failed to demonstrate that he has sufficient understanding of military morale to lead us when he dismissed the needs of those men and women risking their lives to protect our freedom.

Gdia,

If you consider ME a headcase, then you DEFINITELY need a vacation. LOL

Everyone agrees that Healthcare reform will (initially) increase taxes, healthcare costs, or both.
Everyone agrees that Cap-and-Trade will increase the cost of energy.
Both are signature Obama agenda items and both will be detrimental to the economy.

Obama and Congress are working as fast as possible to implement both. Does this make sense in the presence of a very weak economy, trying to recover? No.

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 11:57

Dragon,

Don't bother. There are none so blind as those who choose not to see. If they cannot see the problems coming for themselves, they certainly aren't going to listen to us.

All we can do is prepare ourselves for the problems to come.

we have historic events happening in Iran as we speak but those who knuckleheads are still too busy bashing Obama to even acknowledge it.

By: gdiafante on 6/15/09 at 12:21

Blanket, did you expect anything less??

I haven't seen any mainstream reports of the election results having Moussavi won the election, have you?

By: Dragon on 6/15/09 at 12:22

Iran? Don't you mean North Korea?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 6/15/09 at 12:23

no, not mainstream.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 6/15/09 at 12:23

no, not mainstream.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 6/15/09 at 12:24

i've been reading reports on British websites and Asian Times. it's intriguing.

By: gdiafante on 6/15/09 at 12:25

Nah Dragon, there's this little protest in Iran regarding the election...nothing to see here...proceed with your Obama-bashing.

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 12:25

Gdia,

Well, I didn't think you were a vindictive person...apparently I was wrong.

By: daKine7 on 6/15/09 at 12:25

Why were there NOT riots and demonstrations in the streets of the USA after:
1) The Election of 2000...one for the record books. File it in Webster's under: VOTER FRAUD.
2) By the wonderful Muslims who say they love the US but did nothing after 9/11 here, or in the Middle East.
In L.A. last night, after the Lakers won the NBA Crown...RIOTS. Bush declares war on Iraq...nothing.

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 12:27

Gdia,

Indeed there is. And apparently there's this little tidbit too:

LOL

You must confuse me with someone who cares. Now, back to Obama-bashing...chop chop

By: Blanketnazi2 on 6/15/09 at 12:29

chief plays 6 degrees of Obama. he could tie him to the pig flu. and probably the end of Rome, if he really tried.

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 12:29

Gdia,

I'm sorry...I assumed you were an intelligent person capable of carrying on a dialogue. My mistake.

Carry on with the bashing of those whose ideas differ from your own.

By: gdiafante on 6/15/09 at 12:30

Don't they realized they're doomed regardless of his recognition?? Don't Iranian students read your posts, Chief?? It's the end of the world!!!!

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 12:30

Blanket,

Sorry but you can't blame me for what CNN puts out.

After all, the opinions of the US President DOES have international implications.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 6/15/09 at 12:31

chief, Obama caused the bombing of Pearl Harbor. where's that link again? oh, and he made Mt. St. Helens erupt. i'm looking for that link too, when you get a minute.

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 12:31

Gdia,

"Don't they realized they're doomed regardless of his recognition?? Don't Iranian students read your posts, Chief?? It's the end of the world!!!!"

Apparently not. And apparently they consider what Obama does in terms of their elections to be consequential to their survival.

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 12:33

Blanket,

Obama simply has some input here. Why are you saying that I'm implying he had anything to do with the election directly?

My point is valid...or do you think what Obama does in terms of the election is inconsequential?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 6/15/09 at 12:33

the context of that, chief, is that the students do not want to be tied to the west when it comes to this. they want to stand on their own when it comes to objecting to the election.

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 12:33

Blanket,

Yet they ask for his help? That makes no sense at all.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 6/15/09 at 12:34

so it's not just "Obama" but the U.S. get it?

By: gdiafante on 6/15/09 at 12:34

Don't try Blanket, Chief doesn't get it. Keep assuming Chief...LOL

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 12:34

Blanket,

Yet Obama SPEAKS for the US when it comes to foreign policy, yes?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 6/15/09 at 12:34

keep playing 6 degrees, chief.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 6/15/09 at 12:35

g, i got more sense out of my grandma who had alzheimers.

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 12:36

Blanket,

If you don't wish to have a dialogue, so be it. I was simply saying Obama had an impact in that country. But so be it. I'll find something else interesting to talk about.

By: gdiafante on 6/15/09 at 12:37

I get more sense out of my three-year old. Well, that's enough wasted day for me.

Chief, stay true to yourself, keep your feet on the ground and keep your head in the stars.

By: gdiafante on 6/15/09 at 12:38

"But so be it. I'll find something else interesting to talk about."

I doubt it. You're about as interesting as piece of lint. Anyway..see ya later.

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 12:40

Gdia,

And yet, even though I'm as "interesting as lint" you continue to talk with me. Apparently you don't have a life and squader what you do have talking with someone you have no respect for.

So which of us is the more foolish?

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 12:43

So just how would Americans "go the way of GM" anyway? Are we being bought out by the government???

Looks like Obama has perfected water boarding, drop em in the ocean.
If they don't drown they are innocent. Not bad, not bad.

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 1:15

Slacker,

Not to mention that he can't be blamed if they swim out into the ocean and drown. No way he can be pinned down for torture there...not in a tropical paradise!

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 1:16

Sorry Slacker,

I don't know if you want to have a dialogue with some who is as interesting as pocket lint...might damage your rep here on the board.

Chief, Obama is giving Palau $200 million to accept 14 Gitmo detainees. Heck, just pay each of the detainees more than $14 million and I'm sure they can find someplace to live in this world.

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 1:54

Dragon,

Sure they could...they could move to Afghanistan or Pakistan and then turn the $14 million to al-Qaeda so they can be assured of getting into Heaven when they blow themselves and the foolish enemy that let them go to bits!

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 1:56

Dragon,

I will say this however, about them releasing the prisoners...I wonder, truly wonder, if this will cut back on terrorist prisoners in the long-run.

After all, if they are just going to let the prisoners go...and we can no longer try to get information out of them to save our soldiers...what is the percentage in taking prisoners at all? So what is to keep our guys from not taking any prisoners at all, if you know what I mean?

By: chiefpayne568 on 6/15/09 at 1:59

But of course this doesn't mean a thing! Don't worry, be happy!
