Palin resignation: strategic or pathetic?

Seems Sarah Palin who ran on the Republican ticket just six months ago as John McCain's running mate, threw in the towel. Not completing a full term as Alaska’s governor, she unexpectedly quit with a year and a half to go on her contract.

Before a throng of eight — half family members — she rambled on, confusing herself to be like Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers. To me, she sounded more like a confused Dennis Rodman in his heyday.

Coming on the heels of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford's meltdown, complete with tawdry details of a love affair with his "soul mate" who wasn't his wife, just what's going on in the Republican party?

Palin was treated as a rock star wherever she went. Her people even took those brown M&M's out of her bowl like roadies do before a Van Halen concert.

Maybe another shoe will drop as to why she called it quits. Some say it's a strategic move to position herself for a 2012 Presidential run.

If anyone votes for this quitter, aside from the pretty face and red lipstick, the Democrats will run this country for the foreseeable future.
