Love sick

There are many letters and comments swirling concerning the Steve McNair tragic homicide.

Many armchair psychiatrists and Bible quoting parishioners, well-intentioned people, feel they know all the why's, how's and therefores.

“Playing with fire,” “God's retribution,” “a woman scorned” and the like.

With the forensic evidence, this woman took a love affair way too far.

I can remember countless stories of jilted girlfriends who take the sane approach when a Hollywood celebrity or NFL athlete cuts the relationship off. They burn down his house, sue him blind in court or date his teammate. Maybe all three.

Whatever Mr. McNair is accused of in popular opinion doesn't matter. What Sahel Kazemi allegedly did doesn't come close to resolving a relationship gone bad, regardless of the circumstances.

In life, you walk away. At 20, there will be many more opportunities to fail at love.

Right on, d7.

Good morning.

By: house_of_pain on 7/9/09 at 5:38

Ahem, forgetting something, Nemo?

By: Captain Nemo on 7/9/09 at 5:46

I've got one. Maybe later.

I'm waiting for idgaf to post something stupid about their age difference.

By: Kosh III on 7/9/09 at 6:09

Why wait?
He was old enough to be her father!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

d7, your crucifixion over on another thread is going quite well.

By: Loner on 7/9/09 at 7:01

Good morning, Nashville!

Great LTE, D7, it's short and to the point. McNair and his girlfriend played with fire, they got burnt. It's a senseless tragedy.

With guns now allowed in the bars, we can expect more of these lethal crimes of passion, IMO.

By: dargent7 on 7/9/09 at 7:02

d'pain: Oh, you saw that. I posted it yesterday here too, you didn't like it either. Thankfully, you left off calling me a "cretin", ignorant bigot", "monsterous animal"...
This McNair story really has me rattled. I never saw him play, and just new the name.
Now, a Titan fan, became more aquainted. I just cannot fathom a 20 year old killing a "boyfriend" of only 6 months, knowing he was still married (regardless of the promises) and a father of 4. Plus, shoot yourself in the head? This isn't "Romeo & Juliet". It's so self absorbed, pathological, and narrcissitic. And her family and friends didn't know of her despair? She couldn't reach out to anyone? This is the answer ? I just wonder the the religious undertones that played into her decision.

I finally got to see Chief Serpas on TV, this morning. It was just a head shot; that double chin could be the result of Chronic Donut Syndrome (CDS). Is the chief exempt from meeting fitness criteria? Serpas looks like a man who gets winded easily.

By: house_of_pain on 7/9/09 at 7:10

You should go post @ jacksonville.com. Some of those loonies feel sorry for her.

By: house_of_pain on 7/9/09 at 7:12

Don't let Serpas fool you, Loner. Shipley's hasn't been robbed since his arrival here.

By: Kosh III on 7/9/09 at 7:12

Great LTE...for a cretinous monstrous animal bigot. :)

By: Loner on 7/9/09 at 7:15

I see, Pain, the donuts are safe, but the fruitcakes still pose a problem.

By: chiefpayne568 on 7/9/09 at 7:16

House,

I bet Serpas is still a good shot!

By: Loner on 7/9/09 at 7:20

I'll bet that Serpas could shoot a round through the hole in a donut at fifty yards.

Well, on the up side, at least they are tracking the money now.

I did notice the donut glaze on Serpas chin, at the news conference. Donut glaze residue, was also found on the top of his right hand, by an alert TV cameraman.

I heard, from a second-hand source, that Serpas went into shock due to lack of sugar and ate a prominent Nashville anchor that rhymes with Fan Biller...just saying...

By: BenDover on 7/9/09 at 7:41

Serpas is a tool. He touts statistically meaningless data like +- 2 or 3 murders in a quarter as huge shifts in crime and then uses it to justify push for budget increases... "Murders are up 7% ... we don't have enough cops... we need more money"... "Murders are down 9%... our programs are working... we need more money". Every news conference or press release he has the undertone of increased funding to expand his fiefdom.

Then the newspapers print his press releases like they are news with no research or criticism. The only thing he's done for the city is double the fine revenue and court work-load by cracking down on minor improprieties.

All hat and no cattle.

Verbal cartoon

After jumping Palin's boat, the two rats made it back to the dock. Standing there was Newt shouting, "I paid you good money to keep an eye on her."

Both rats yelled back, "Our lives are worth more than a bag of peanuts."

News Burp

Standing under an umbrella White reporter Mary Anne Li, speaks to the camera.

"Once again I am reporting on the mass hysteria of the fringe right wing nuts running through the streets screaming the sky is falling.

There really nothing to fear. Just like the last time it is only another extremist head full of jell-o exploding. However this time it is believed to be the head of one time party girl sidneyames.

You know, I don't understand why some men, especially married men, choose to mess with mentally ill young girls. it's a recipe for big trouble!

By: gdiafante on 7/9/09 at 7:54

It's all about the hootchie coo...Just ask Rick Derringer.

By: slacker on 7/9/09 at 7:58

nazi, studies have shown, mentally ill young girls, are more attractive than old, wrinkled up, mentally ill broads.

By: chiefpayne568 on 7/9/09 at 7:58

Yeah, I expect THIS to pass...Riiiight! And BTW, one has to wonder WHY Congress allowed themselves an out from the government health care, if they TRULY believe it is so great and wonderful!

Congressmen Who Vote for Government-Run Health Care Agency Should Be Its First Customers, Legislation Says

http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=50756

"Rep. John Fleming (R-La.) introduced a bill Monday that urges members of Congress who vote to create a government-run health insurance agency to give up their own comprehensive health insurance plans to join the new the public option they advocate for others."

"Fleming said he offered the non-binding resolution after he found out that under both the House and Senate proposals, members of Congress and other federal government employees will not have to participate in the planned health insurance exchanges for at least five years.

After five years, they still do not have to participate in the exchanges if they do not want to, while every other American must have a plan that conforms to the government’s rules, Fleming added."

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/9/09 at 8:01

well, i understand that some men are going to stray, but why not pick a young girl that is NOT psycho.

By: house_of_pain on 7/9/09 at 8:01

Blanket, can you please provide an example...

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/9/09 at 8:02

slacker, btw....."wrinkled up, mentally ill broads." LOL! for some reason, the word "broad" always cracks me up!

By: gdiafante on 7/9/09 at 8:02

I've heard that the mental illness may not be so apparent until after the relationship has started...that's what I have heard...

well, perhaps. but i would think there would be red flags somewhere along the way. and i guess if you care about someone, you tend to make excuses or give a pass to those red flags....i dunno. i just feel really bad for his family, especially his kids.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/9/09 at 8:04

How do you know if the woman young or old is psycho at first place?

By: gdiafante on 7/9/09 at 8:05

I'm sure there were, which is why the relationship was deteriorating, hence her world "unraveling"...

By: Loner on 7/9/09 at 8:06

Every man, including celebrities, has two heads. On one end of the spinal cord is the seat of intelligence. On the other end of the spinal column is the brain.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/9/09 at 8:08

well, g - i suppose that's probably correct. i've dated some psychos in the past and yeah, it's hard to get away unscathed once you get involved.

By: gdiafante on 7/9/09 at 8:08

That's why us men are such complicated creatures...we have two heads but usually think with another part of our body entirely...

By: Captain Nemo on 7/9/09 at 8:11

Two head does not make for clear thinking.

By: slacker on 7/9/09 at 8:12

nemo, sometimes you gotta clear one of your heads.
