Letters to the Editor

Ray gunned

Terri Ray has been a part of Pegram town government for 10 years and more. What Pegram “is” attributable to her contribution of shallow, peripheral, collaboratorial, conspiratorial cooperation, whether in ignorance or failed responsibility.

Robin Ray, her spouse has supported her in her every effort; as employee or elected representative. Either way, we, the electors have been duped, or failed in every way!

This is a national malaise which may be the end of what WE, the people, envisioned as a new form of liberty and governance.

Is the letter intended to be an example of Art's English composition ability, or a test of the reader's comprehension skills?

He seems to be less than favorably impressed with Terri Ray's political record. Taken at face value, one might conclude that she governed in the manner of a typical politician. In one way, her husband has supported her all along, but in the other way--no other way appears to be given. Regardless, "either way," the electorate has been poorly served.

He concludes by opining that her methods are practiced on a national scale, which endangers an anticipated "new form of liberty and governance." Would that he had not truncated his assertion, and failed to explain what he meant by the new form designation.

Perhaps someone on the board is familiar with Pegram politics, and can shed more light on its plight.

This is a rambling vendictive piece of crap leaving the reader wondering what the hell he is talking about.

I think this paper tears up the submitted LTE's into little pieces and draws one out of a bucket.

Good morning.

Verbal Cartoon

With the First Dude still in schock from his Limbaugh sighting and the lack of navagation skills, Sara discovers a new world. She is greeted by freindly people saying Aloha. She quickly claims the new land for Alaska and calls it New Sara Place.

Paul

Just hear on the news. I hope that none of your freinds or family was injured in the wreak yesterday in Detroit.

By: dargent7 on 7/16/09 at 5:46

Hey, I've got a good topic: Major Steven Cook and his attorney have concocted a novel argument as to why he shouldn't be deployed to Afghanistan. Obama isn't a US citizen, and therefore cannot be Commander-in-Chief. And Obama should be placed under house arrest by the Park Police for impersonating a sitting President. Wouldn't the entire world love this one? Impeaching Clinton over a cigar used as an organ and Nixon's resignation isn't enough humiliation for America. Whoa. I almost lost my balance typing this one.

By: dooley on 7/16/09 at 5:59

The right wing has gone completely psycho and they keep digging the hole deeper for themselves daily. All their rantings and idiotic questions submitted to Judge Sotomayor are only showing their abject racial predjudice and stupidity while trying to hang it on her . I think the Republican party is over because of their insane neo con leadership and if the conservatives want to survive they had better reinvent their party under a different name -- Tory's , whig's dumb asses or something far from Republican.

By: dooley on 7/16/09 at 6:01

Abraham Lincoln or Teddy Roosevelt would s--t.

By: dargent7 on 7/16/09 at 6:02

Thanks Captain...nearly all of my family has "fanned out" from Detroit. My parents actually live in S. Carolina. Now that I'm in Tenn. I can visit them more frequently. Just great.
Anyway, I'm just hoping the Lions can do better that 0-16 with than newly minted hotshot QB.

By: CAH on 7/16/09 at 6:21

Doodle - at least the Republicans aren't doing a filibuster like the Dems did to Miguel Estrada. In fact, even the liberal media are saying that the Reps are being soft in their questioning.

That major is also claiming conscientious objector status. Funny that it took him all these years to conclude that isn't it?

By: dargent7 on 7/16/09 at 6:27

Kosh III: But I believe central to his argument is Obama was not born in Hawai'i.
Even if he was born in Kenya, isn't Kenya one of the 57 states he referred to?

By: dooley on 7/16/09 at 6:28

You have to be soft if you don't have any legitimate ammunition. It's not a matter of wanting to be soft it a matter of not having a daming thing to throw at her that will stick.

S.C., d7? They've got more ridiculous laws on the books than TN.
Your Lions will win at least 3 games this year.

By: slacker on 7/16/09 at 7:14

Hey dargent, as I said, you have come full circle. You are in denial of your hillbilly, redneck, heritage. Put a sofa on your front porch, and move on.

By: slacker on 7/16/09 at 7:15

Yep, that's where Teddy shouda gone.

Does slackerdamus say over or under?

By: slacker on 7/16/09 at 7:27

slackerdamus says under.

By: dargent7 on 7/16/09 at 7:27

Pain in the house: Yeah, my dad is a tennis umpire at Hilton Head. He's also "on the take".
Slack: I'm way ahead of your hillbilly/ red neck/ learning curve....living in San Diego, I learned from the Latino community, you must have a car up on bricks with the hood open, a smashed windshield, and weeds growing all around it to qualify as a bona fide resident.
Here in Sylvan Park, everyone has rocking chairs on their porches. I have those two plastic pink flamingos by the mailbox, but the couch idea sounds like a winner. What is your hillbilly "consult" fee anyway?

By: gdiafante on 7/16/09 at 7:29

I've read a newly discovered text from Slackerdamus...titled the "Dead Toilet Rolls" and it predicts that in 2010, Detroit goes 10-6 and then beats Philly 51-0, Giants 27-10 and the Cowboys 1158-5 to make it to the Super Bowl, where they lose to the Chiefs 72-71.

I'm must sayin'...

Forget the couch, you need an old 85 Pontiac on blocks in your yard...and several thousand stray toys scattered about...

Won't be quite as bad here in Tennessee...but the taxes will go up. One must also wonder how the Cap and Trade will hit the utilitiy bills in NY too!

Chief, Obama's state reason for Cap and Trade is to increase the cost of energy to make renewable more profitable.

By: slacker on 7/16/09 at 7:50

dargent, put some worn out auto tires in your front yard, and whitewash them white. Planting flower's inside them, that are soon overrun with weeds, is an option. Also a silhouette of a cowboy smoking a cigarette, next to your mailbox, is a nice touch.
No charge.

no, dargent needs to dumpster dive and find a couch that he can suspend from a tree in the front yard and make a nice swing out of it.

By: slacker on 7/16/09 at 8:11

nazi, you forgot to mention, you must have empty cans of brake fluid, littering the yard.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/16/09 at 8:13

yes, and a string of beer can porch lights.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/16/09 at 8:14

well, according to another article today, you can put some chickens in your yard too.

By: chiefpayne568 on 7/16/09 at 8:16

I wonder why?

Sotomayor Declines to Give View on Abortion, Gun Rights
Sonia Sotomayor repeatedly declined to give her view on abortion Wednesday, but expressed dismay that her former boss would say that he "guarantees" she'll support abortion rights.

By: slacker on 7/16/09 at 8:19

no, no, nazi, no chickens. Rednecks consider that beneath them, they think it makes them look like illegals. Now a couple of chickens in the living room is acceptable.

Regarding the LTE. I live in Pasquo, which is near Pegram. From what I overhear the citizens of Pasquo, consider themselves superior to the Pegram citizens, because Pasquo has a low wattage liberal radio station. The Pegram citizens have a bait shop, and a catfish joint, and hardware store. Myself being of a gentle nature stay out of the local politics. I'm betting Mr. Asbury, eats at the catfish joint.

CAH

I was wondering who was going to point that out - lol!

By: gdiafante on 7/16/09 at 8:34

From my experience, there is no need for "liberal" radio stations. Most Liberals don't need their politics spoon-fed, they'd rather enjoy some music, likely Wing or something...

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/16/09 at 8:38

you think Wing is liberal?

By: gdiafante on 7/16/09 at 8:41

Didn't say that Blanket, I have no idea, just saying that some would rather listen to music than a bunch of political nonsense...even if the music is Wing...lol

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/16/09 at 8:43

LOL! i guess Wing's music is easier on the ear that the political nonsense.

By: gdiafante on 7/16/09 at 8:46

I love "Let me Roll it"...oh wait, wrong Wings...

By: house_of_pain on 7/16/09 at 8:46

Wing needs a political talk show where she can sing the day's news & views. Maybe even do an interview or two.

By: brrrrk on 7/16/09 at 8:51

Ok, this was printed as an example of "how not to write a letter to the editor".... right?
