Number 1 and Number 2

The daily revelations of the secrecy and misdeeds of Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld without any constitutional authority to do any of it reminds me of the Austin Powers movie adventures with Cheney and Rumsfeld closely paralleling "Dr. Evil" (for Cheney, note the actual resemblance) and Number 2, his comrade in crime.

[We’ll leave the role of Mini Me to a confused President Bush who was not even cognizant of anything that was going on.]

This Bush mob has stained our country forever and their comedic evil can in no way can ever be considered funny as the Austin Powers movies were intended to be. Enough has already been revealed that war crimes trials should on the table, but it seems that the American people don't stand much of a chance at receiving justice.

President Obama should insist that the justice department proceed in that direction. If not, it will be hard to proceed into the future with hope or any kind of standards if the crimes of the past are allowed to evaporate for the sake of moving ahead.

chief, you gave a half-assed apology with a side of insult and you are very aware of that. you should be ashamed of yourself, but of course you are not.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/20/09 at 11:31

Kill the baby chief.

By: chiefpayne568 on 7/20/09 at 11:31

Blanket,

I did not apologize for my position...I apologized for offending you. That's as good as I am going to do because I am anti-abortion. And no I am not ashamed of myself.

By: CAH on 7/20/09 at 11:35

Nemo, like D7, Dooley, Blanket and many others forget the original causes for Afghanistan and Iraq. They blindly regurgitate the liberal media.

1. We went in to Afghanistan to get Bin Laden.
2. We went in to Iraq after 18 months of Congressional deliberation because of the constant violations of mandates by the U.N. and because Iraqi forces were shooting at our planes, who were patrolling the 'No-Fly' zone by order of the U.N. Certainly it was not for "Oil" as stated by so many. If it had been, we would have been awash in oil by 2005 and wouldn't be seeing prices like we have in the last year. Revenge for Saddam's attempt to kill G.H.W. Bush? Not likely as a team of Navy Seals or Green Berets could, and would have, done the job easily.

You draw at straws and repeat the mantra over and over again enough times that you believe it to be true, even though it is just fanatical fantasy.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/20/09 at 11:35

i didn't ask for you to apologize for your position. see, there you go trying to change the argument. and yes, you should be ashamed of yourself for you low blow mudslinging.

By: dargent7 on 7/20/09 at 11:36

What a brilliant, seamless, philosophy....force women to have a baby, let them grow up to be young men and women, join the military, send them off to war(s) that are 100% bul**sh**t from the get-go, get them killed, maimed, psychologically destroyed, say 5-10 years later the "war" was a "mistake"....do the same senario over and over. Repeat. God has left the building.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/20/09 at 11:39

That is lame chief.

What kind of soldier are you that can't follow oders. Baby get killed all of thhe time in war. Why can't you follow orders.

By: CAH on 7/20/09 at 11:40

Blanket, I saw his post, your reply and his apology. Seems that should have ended it.

Now I'm going to give you something to be mad at me about.

If the baby comment still gnaws at you, is it possible that you had questions at the time of your pregnancy and still do?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/20/09 at 11:42

CAH, i've never been pregnant. sheesh.

By: chiefpayne568 on 7/20/09 at 11:43

Dargent,

Hummm...that WOULD seem to fix the situation so you'd never have to see a combat field, wouldn't it.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/20/09 at 11:43

Now I'm going to give you something to be mad at me about.

classy.

CAH, i've never been pregnant. sheesh.

Then you really, really shouldn't have a beef since he was only stating a hypothetical.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/20/09 at 11:47

of course you would.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/20/09 at 11:48

Pweewwwwww!

*the sound of the point going over CAH's head*

By: chiefpayne568 on 7/20/09 at 11:49

CAH,

I'm telling you Blanket doesn't want to accept my apology. I let it go...you probably should too. It's not worth it.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/20/09 at 11:50

Cah;

How do you like your new job as chief butt wiper?

By: dargent7 on 7/20/09 at 11:50

Chief: Combat fields? I was raised in Detroit. I love 'em. I think the days when we trusted our US Presidents to "TELL THE TRUTH" are way over. Ended with Eisenhower. Now, it's all about politcal gain, expediency, and cover-up.

By: chiefpayne568 on 7/20/09 at 11:53

CRAP! When ISAF took over, I was HOPING they learned from the time when we were in charge of the flights in Kandahar and they would give more time to maintenance. Given the article says they weren't shot down, I think that's what did it.

What a waste...a needless waste! If the UN IS running the flight schedules, I hope the US starts scheduling a maintenance day to make sure no more crashes happen due to this!

Frankly, I don't trust ANYONE in Washington like I used to....especially now.

Blanket;

To answer your earlier question about Memphis. I only went there on busniess early this morning and turned around. No bar b q.

By: chiefpayne568 on 7/20/09 at 11:59

Oh this is just shocking! NOT!

Highway spending isn't the stimulus it was envisioned to be
Only a third of the 5,600 road projects approved by Washington under Obama's Recovery Act have been given the go-ahead for construction.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/20/09 at 12:00

dargent, i saw that your LTE to the Tennesseean was in the Sunday paper.

By: slacker on 7/20/09 at 12:02

nemo, last time I was in Memphis, I drove by Elvis house, on the way to Tunica.
There were oil stains on the entrance of the driveway, and I wondered why they would let it go like that, considering the money made at that place.

Nemo,

I fight enemy soldiers, not children.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/20/09 at 12:11

i don't remember, slacker.

By: dargent7 on 7/20/09 at 12:12

CAH: You give the convient "press release" from the right...as in GOP Republican, Evangelical, the moral majority side.
It's a waste of ink, but the truth is: The USA needed a "reason" to invade Iraq. Bush Jr. as his father Sr., didn't "like Saddam". And he was sitting on the 2nd largest oil field on planet earth. Now, the conversation stops there. I was living in San Diego, by Miramar, TOP Gun, in 1991, when over the radio came, "the USA has just launched air strikes in Iraq". I thought, "No way"...it's the 90's...going to war in the 90's? And Bush Sr. said, "It's not about oil, it's about naked agression". Now, if you, CAH, believe the USA can attack a country, cause 150,000 dead Iraqi's (Highway of Death), all because we had to revenge Iraq's attack of Kawait.....then act sanctimonious as if God provided the transmission to the Bush's...well, get a higher morphine drip, immediately. 9/11 provided the trigger for GW Bush's attack. They are OIL men, it's always been and always will be about OIL. They are COUNTLESS problems in the world to address. Why is it the USA always picks OIL rich countries to stake our quasi-religious positions?

By: house_of_pain on 7/20/09 at 12:14

Nemo, it is considered bad manners to leave Memphis with no BBQ.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/20/09 at 12:16

Still lame chief.

If the order was ever giving by a commanding officer to do that or something as hidieous what would you do?

Has that ever crossed thoughts at anytime. Or does you mind shut down down and starts posting anything you can find on the web?

By: dargent7 on 7/20/09 at 12:18

Blanket: Yeah, they run about two a month in print, one or two more internet only.
My parents are sooo embaressed. The posts over there aren't as lively as TCP.
If I ever make it to Death Row, I'm sticking with this paper. Maybe you'll come see me?

By: chiefpayne568 on 7/20/09 at 12:20

Nemo,

As I am in charge of people, of course I think about such things. The answer is no, not unless my people were threatened by said child. And I would do everything I could to prevent it coming to that.

Now, a question for you...would you shoot the child to save yourself and your men, were you in that position?

After all, if you can pose a hypothetical situation to me, I can pose one to you.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/20/09 at 12:20

By: chiefpayne568 on 7/20/09 at 1:09
Nemo,

I fight enemy soldiers, not children.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So you don't kill enemy soldiers eighter. What kind of soldier are you?
By: chiefpayne568 on 7/20/09 at 12:23
Nemo,
True...but the enemy we face USES children at times...case in point is the woman with a child in her arms hiding a bomb underneath. The solders would kill her and so she blew herself, her child and the soldiers up.
Another strapped a radio detonated bomb to a child and sent him towards the soldiers. The soldiers had no choice but to stop the kid because he kept coming towards them, even after they told him to stop.
You see, this is a real-world situation. But the bottom line to me is, if a threat is there and I can't stop it any other way, I would stop it by shooting the kid.
That answer your question?
By: slacker on 7/20/09 at 12:23
pain, its even worse to leave Memphis, without commenting on the state of Elvis's driveway.
By: chiefpayne568 on 7/20/09 at 12:24
Nemo,
Just a regular soldier...one that is more human, like all the others, than you care to admit. But then, I believe you've said you've never been a soldier...so one cannot expect you to know this.
By: chiefpayne568 on 7/20/09 at 12:25
BTW Nemo,
If it makes you feel any better, it's looking like I'll be heading out later this year back over there.
I don't know. Would my visitation waste tax payers money? LOL!
By: Captain Nemo on 7/20/09 at 12:27
I am not talking about saving myself or anyone eles.
The order are to kill the baby. It does not matter if the baby has a loaded gun or a loaded diaper. Your order are to kill the baby.
The law has been changed. You are now leagal to kill the baby.
What are you going to do?
By: chiefpayne568 on 7/20/09 at 12:28
Nemo,
Refuse a direct order, expect to be arrested, await my court-marshal and provide evidence at my trial and hope for acquittal.
By: chiefpayne568 on 7/20/09 at 12:29
Nemo,
BTW, that would NOT be a lawful order per the UCMJ
By: Captain Nemo on 7/20/09 at 12:30
I apoligize slacker, it want happen again. Got any place for me to look up next time?
By: slacker on 7/20/09 at 12:34
nemo, no apology necessary. Not everyone is in awe of driveways, I think its genetic.
By: house_of_pain on 7/20/09 at 12:34
chief, if you go, cover up. Getting a sunburn violates Article 108 of the UCMJ.
Could cost you an Article 15.
By: Captain Nemo on 7/20/09 at 12:36
Good for you chief. That is the proper thing say in nice society.
What if the baby blowes up and soldiers die, becuase did not follow orders?
Laws change chief.
