Number 1 and Number 2
The daily revelations of the secrecy and misdeeds of Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld without any constitutional authority to do any of it reminds me of the Austin Powers movie adventures with Cheney and Rumsfeld closely paralleling "Dr. Evil" (for Cheney, note the actual resemblance) and Number 2, his comrade in crime.
[We’ll leave the role of Mini Me to a confused President Bush who was not even cognizant of anything that was going on.]
This Bush mob has stained our country forever and their comedic evil can in no way can ever be considered funny as the Austin Powers movies were intended to be. Enough has already been revealed that war crimes trials should on the table, but it seems that the American people don't stand much of a chance at receiving justice.
President Obama should insist that the justice department proceed in that direction. If not, it will be hard to proceed into the future with hope or any kind of standards if the crimes of the past are allowed to evaporate for the sake of moving ahead.

lol, house. i totally concur.
Blanket,
Kind of hard to do after the enemy has tried to blow off the first cheek. Besides, as I said, this is war...not revenge - not an eye for an eye.
Talk to your Congressman, if you don't like it...or talk to Obama and tell him you want us out. We don't control them, civilians do.
as Georgie. he killed Sadam because Iraq tried to "kill his daddy."
once again, going to war and choosing to willing murder is a personal choice that you made. you can just say you're "following orders" while you go practice your bloodlust.
sick.
House,
And you are a Wonderful House that's Orderly Robust and Excellent.
Maybe we should get together sometime! LOL
Nice retort.
Blanket,
Again, sanctioned by Congress and the US citizens.
Oh well, you refuse the citizens part of war. Understandable...no one wants responsibility...only results.
whatever, chief.
Chief: Doing the math, you're around 45. I'm in the year of our Lord, Barack Obama, 47. If you feel suiting up, playing Army, and taking civilian causalites, that's on your head. My freedoms are just fine. WWI and WWII are over. Pearl Harbor is over. Vietnam is over. Desert Storm is over. Operation: Iraqi Freedom is over. Ask Bend-O, we won all of 'em. Can we relax? So, what exactly are you grunts doing in Afghanistan?
House,
Thanks.
Its a bit rough, but I did have to come up with it on the spot.
Dargent,
Your math is a tad off, but that's ok. If you feel your freedoms are secure and you don't need an military anymore, I suggest you contact your Congressman and see if the military can be disbanded.
Should be interesting to see the look he gives you prior to laughing you out of his office.

"I am a realist...I hide behind nothing. I am a US soldier. If you don't like what soldiers do in war, then tell your Congressman to stop it."
What about the Military Code of Honor? I had a friend who spent almost his entire service time in a missile silo. He told me more than once that if he received an order that he deemed inappropriate, that if was his duty to refuse to act on that order.... regardless of the consequences. And being that he "had his finger on the button", he was quite adamant about that.
our freedoms are fine as long as we keep the GOP out of our bedrooms and our personal affairs. freedom resides in the space between church and state.
Brrrrk,
As I said, we DO have a duty to disregard illegal orders...that is absolutely true. BUT, if you do so, you can expect to be brought up on a courts-marshal charge and will have to defend your decision in a military court - where you will be judged by your peers. If found wanting, you will be sentenced according to military law, which includes the death penalty among other things. If exonerated, you go back to duty.
You are held responsible for your actions in the military at all times.
Blanket,
Sure they are fine...as long as you have a military to protect them. But if you feel you don't need us, ask your Congressman to disband the military and see how they react.
OK, Chief, you're 35. Who cares? We DID elect a President who said he's going to withdraw troops from Iraq. Now, he's putting them in Afghanistan. Go figure. The military budget is projected to be $550. billion A YEAR. OK with me. You tell your kids why the library is closed, after school activities are canceled, and tell grandma why it took EMS, Police, and Fire to take 20-30 minutes to come to your emergency.
Last parting shot for Chief & CAH: "yellow cake", centrifuges," "uranium", terrorist's training camps, harboring terrorists, ....ad campaigns by Condi Rice and Cheney showing mushroom clouds, extolling the fact of "imminent danger"...all after 9/11. A coincidence? The two events were sold to the American people as one in the same. If you two cannot connect those two dots, then you deserve a corrupt, bankrupt, once great nation. And Chief, you want to go off and fight to protect this? Your definition of "freedom"?
If you listened to his campaign speeches you will remember that he said he would withdraw troops from Iraq and also that he intended to send troops to Afghanistan to try to quell the resurgence of the Taliban that was caused by Bushs' deserting a resounding victory and driving the Taliban out of afghanistan to go after the one who tried to kill his dad - Saddam. They then saw an opportunity to regroup . and then did so while Nero played his fiddle in Iraq. Although binLadin may not officially a head of state he is the mastermind and financier of world wide terrorism and has the following of the islamic nations whether overtly or covertly and needs to be killed.
