Won’t subsidize abortions

As a pro life citizen, I do not do support any business that supports abortion and providers such as Planned Parenthood and have asked my financial advisor to be sure none of my investments do as well. I have closed my bank account and changed banks when I found out my provider supported Planned Parenthood.

Now my tax dollars may be used to pay for abortions if the health care bill being discussed passes and there is not an amendment that explicitly forbids the use of tax dollars to pay for abortions. Such an amendment was just voted down.

Since abortion is mandated in the health care bill, every insurance plan will have to cover it and provide means necessary to obtain an abortion. This amounts to a bailout to the already profitable abortion industry.

I don’t want to be forced to subsidize abortions and I don’t think the government has the right to force its citizens to pay for a procedure that they vehemently oppose. Let Congress hear from you on this issue.

blanket, I didn't make it that far today! I ended up at Tom's Elite Carryout, which is a fairly new BBQ joint on Gallatin Rd. It was my first time eating there and I will most definitely go back. The turnip greens are yummy!!! Pork shoulder is good too and can't wait to try their ribs!

Turnip greens are good, but do they have fried okra?

By: house_of_pain on 7/28/09 at 1:56

MamaG, do you work for the Disciples of Clint Eastwood?

By: MamaG on 7/28/09 at 2:12

They don't have fried okra but they have lots of other good sides. They were out of potato salad, which I wanted to try but I'll have that next time!

house, I don't even know what that is, so I doubt if I work for them! :-) Enlighten, please.

By: MamaG on 7/28/09 at 2:24

By: Blanketnazi2 on 7/28/09 at 2:29

oh, it is so beyond good. i think i'm going to go ahead and buy it. not only is it Clint Eastwood at his best (but is the man ever bad?) but the story line is really good. let me know what you think after you watch it. it reminds me of a bunch of grumpy old men i've met!

By: MamaG on 7/28/09 at 3:03

Give me a Coen brothers movie any day of the week....

By: slacker on 7/28/09 at 3:21

brrrrk, absolutely. As you probably know, Frances McDormand, is married to one of the brothers.

By: house_of_pain on 7/28/09 at 3:26

The other one is married to an exceptionally bright bag of hammers.

Gd: Not that it really matters, but if my memory serves me...Ringo had a more severe childhood disease that almost killed him (not appendix).
And George had the tonsillectomy before their 2nd or 3rd tour.
I think Ringo had the flu once in which they used another drummer.

d7, you two would get along quite well with that quadruple amputee that plays multiple instruments: Stump, the band.

Yeah, well. The Dude abides..... Slacker

d'pain: There's a blind guy who stands by the bus stop near my house. Should I:
1) Steal his cane?
2) Yell racial slurs?
3) Lite him on fire?
4) Offer to give him a ride, then take him to Antioch?
What's appropriate.
